What We’re Playing, Memorial Day Weekend

Amazing how its been 27 years since the Raiders of the Lost Ark came out. Lots of folks went to see it opening night. I’ll be seeing it on Sunday. Here’s what we’re playing — let us know what’s on your gaming play list. Have a safe and fun holiday weekend.

Nate Purkeypile, Kritzcrieg’d Medic: TF2 and GTA4

Fred Zeleny, Vacationing at the Bottom of a Bottle: The World Ends With You, Rock Band, and Marco Polo in the ocean

Ricardo Gonzalez, Free At Last?: The Rain-Slick Precipice of Darkness, Episode One; Myst for the DS. The first non-MMOs I’ve played in…longer than I care to remember

Daryl Brigner, Level Designer: Penny Arcade Episode One, TF2, Mount and Blade

Ashley Cheng, This is Whack!: On the Rain-Slick Precipice of Darkness Episode One, Mac (SCUMM adventure game with Final Fantasy combat and Penny Arcade humor? Can I pay for Episodes Two through One Hundred now?), Fallout 3

Nathan X. McDyer, Associate Producer: TF2

Pete Hines: Rock Band, CoD4, Rain-Slick Precipice

Larry Waldman, QA: GTA IV, Battlefield Heroes, and if I have time… Prey

Ryan Ashford, QA Engineer: Okami(Wii), TF2

Joel Burgess: So… much… GTAIV

Michael Lattanzia, QA: I’m playing a RL game called “Camping”. It’s really immersive. Other than that, I might have some time to get in a little Age of Conan.

Ryan Salvatore, QA: Bioshock, TF2, We <3 Katamari

Aaron Mitschelen, QA: Beat Ash to Penny Arcade (finished it, buy this–it’s like a PA version of the Golden Age of PC gaming, with console combat), so back to Persona 3: FES and LotRO.

Sam Bernstein, QA Tester: Halo 3, TF2, I Wanna Be The Guy, and the ever popular, ‘Sit around and do nothing for the first weekend day this year’ game.

Chris Esko, Systems Programmer: The Penny Arcade game with the long-ass name, GTAIV, Boom Blox, Fallout 3

  1. Probably gonna be playing some GTAIV and Oblivion (just getting into Knights of the Nine). Wouldn’t mind picking up Lego Indy either.

  2. Just hit the National Lakeshore for camping last week with the misses (her first time no less), Age of Conan for me this weekend, and WoW for raids.

  3. Playing some old school SNES games. Chrono Trigger and the English translation of Star Ocean. I felt the need to play some old school games, so I am doing just that.

  4. “In my opinion, Indy IV had more than an hours worth of classic Indy sandwiched between two slices of Star Wars prequel bread.”

    That sounds about right. :)

  5. Indy 4 was much more like Temple of Doom. Did anyone else notice he was fist fighting for half an hour straight and almost nobody got hurt except for the folks killed by ants?

  6. Princess, given that we have similar movie tastes, I suspect you will find it as enjoyable as I did – that is to say a very nice popcorn flick that was lots of fun. :)
