Fallout 3 Impressions from E3

Hi all, we’re working hard at the studio so I only have a few minutes to write this up. Lots of great E3 impressions appearing at several media outlets, and Todd Howard has more hands on demos going on throughout the week.

I hope you guys are enjoying the first looks at Fallout 3. I know the development team is really excited that we’re finally showing off the game. Anyhoo, here are some links for your clicking pleasure. (By no means comprehensive:)

  • Shacknews also wrote up some comments on the game – looks like they’ll have more impressions coming in a future post.
  • 1UP’s Garnett Lee, of the great 1Up Yours podcast, wrote up his impressions.
  • VentureBeat had a great interview with Todd Howard that I personally enjoyed reading. A nice discussion on franchises, in general.
  • Not E3 related but PC Gamer’s Fallout 3 cover story is online and a great read, though has some spoilers.
  • GameSpot posts their E3 hands on.
  • After posting a new preview early Monday morning, IGN has updated E3 impressions here.
  • Finally, here is an interview with Todd on Gametrailers.com. If you look carefully, you can see Pete Hines walking around behind him. And the blond with the wine glass is Tracey, one of our PR folks. Hi Tracey! Oh yeah, if you stare long enough, you might be able to catch glimpses of Fallout itself. (Or you can come to my desk, I’ve got the game running at my desk pretty much all day long.)

For, like, two whole seconds! Pah!

      *waves at Tracey-person*

      Is that an invitation? :D
*envisages entire blog readership trying to crowd around Ash’s desk*

    2. Wow to think this time next year all this will have come to pass and we’ll be playing FALLOUT 3 for awhile already without even discovering a ton of things in this humongous game world. Thank goodness for single player games by Bethesda they beat multiplayer games without question.

Noticed after Pete Hines gleefully walked away from the guy playing FALLOUT 3 the guys head twitched extremely to the side. That Pete Hines really knows how to lay down the nerve wracking tormenting psychology :D
