What we’re playing: Downloadable games dominate

In recent memory, I can’t think a 1-month period that had a greater number of awesome downloadable releases. If you look at the list below, almost everyone is playing something from STEAM, Xbox Live, PSN, and even WiiWare (the new Strong Bad Game).

Here’s the list of games we’re playing this weekend:

Brent Krische: Braid, Patapon, Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune, Strong Bad’s Cool Game for Attractive People Episode 1.

Matt Grandstaff, Community Manager: NCAA 2009, PixelJunk Eden, Bionic Commando: Rearmed, Siren: Blood Curse, and trying to keep my high scores in Geometry Wars 2.

Orin Tresnjak, Graphics Programmer: Planning a D&D game.  Painting some Warhammer figs.  Beating Matt’s high scores in Geometry Wars 2.

Aaron Mitschelen, QA: LotRO, Soul Calibur 4.

Dan Ross, QA: Fallout 3, Company of Heroes, maybe some Gran Turismo 5 Prologue.

Dan Lee, Environment Artist: Soul Calibur IV (360), The World Ends with You (DS), Geometry Wars: Retro Evolved 2 (XBLA).

Matt Weil: Project Reality, Call of Duty 4, Half-Life 2: Episode 2.

Michael Lattanzia, QA: Diablo 2 with my girlfriend, since that’s what she wants to do for her birthday. And maybe working on my XNA project if I have time.

Dane Olds, Artist: Braid, Geometry Wars 2, Bionic Freakin Commando, Crysis, Stalker, New Super Mario Bros., and getting signed up for Fantasy Football.

John Pisano, QA: Arcanum, Dwarf Fortress, Temple of Elemental Evil, Rock Band.

Fred Zeleny, Endless Setlist Drummer: A little Final Fantasy Tactic A2, some real-life Tetris to fit furniture into a moving van, and breaking in the new apartment by pounding through the new metal DLC in Rock Band!

Nate Purkeypile, Official Beard Debugger: Fallout 3, The Witcher and playing more TF2 in preparation for the new Heavy update.

Daryl Brigner, Level Designer: TF2, and hopefully finishing up Braid.

Pete Hines, Weary Traveller: NCAA Football, Geometry Wars 2, Disgaea, probably get Madden for DS or PSP for Leipzig.

Phil Glaser, QA: Bionic Commando Rearmed (Awesome), Fallout 3, and the StumbleUpon button clicking game.

Tony “Theft Auto: Grande” Greco: – Braid and more CoD4.
