What we’re playing: Zombies have invaded the building

As I expected, the release of Left 4 Dead has taken the office by storm. Our crack team of Team Fortress 2 experts are trading in their roles as Medics, Engineers, and Medics for the thrill of playing as disturbingly awesome zombies — like Boomers, Smokers, Hunters, and Tanks.

Of course not everyone is spending every possible hour playing Left 4 Dead — team members continue to play through Far Cry 2, Fable 2, Gears of War 2, and more.

Here’s our rundown of everything we’re playing. Have a great weekend!

Jesse Tucker: Left 4 Dead, TF2, Dominion (Board game, very nice).

Joel Burgess: L4D, Far Cry 2, Netflix on NXE!

Daryl Brigner: Left 4 Dead (PC) all weekend.

Fred Zeleny, Game Designer and Apocalypse Junkie: Three flavors of apocalypse: Fallout 3 (for the Nuclear Apocalypse), Left 4 Dead (for the Zombie Apocalypse), and Rune Factory 2 (for the all-too-often overlooked Agricultural Apocalypse).

Jonah Lobe: Left 4 Dead, Charades.

Michael Lattanzia, QA: Left 4 Dead, Little Big Planet (level creating time!), Warhammer Online, Animal Crossing DS.

Matt Weil: Left 4 Dead.

Megan Sawyer: Trying to figure out the new 360 interface, and then finishing Fable II.

Chris Rodriguez, Systems Programmer: Mirrors Edge Demo, Left 4 Dead Demo, Rock Band 2

Craig Walton: Fieldrunners and Aurora Feint on my iPhone.

Ryan Lea: Fallout 3, Left 4 Dead.

Brent Krische, QA Tester: Lego Batman, Gears of War 2, and I’m thinking either Fable 2 or Little Big Planet over the weekend.  I also want to check out Kingdom for Keflings and set up my Netflix account with the NXE dashboard.

Ricardo Gonzalez, Code Cracker: WoW = Jet. WoW + Expansion content + Achievements = Ultrajet.

Matt Grandstaff, Community Manager: Celebrating Laugh-at-my-Mom-while-she-plays-the-Wii-week.

Pete Hines: Fallout 3.

  1. FALLOUT 3 and a little pinch of DAWN OF WAR SOULSTORM to see how well the last patch is.

FALLOUT 3 just keeps getting better and better not to mention creepier. Those subway and factory areas make me feel like am in a 1950s monster movie ala THE SLIME PEOPLE or some industrial version of THE EVIL DEAD. Just discovered the Naughty Underwear treasure after thinking i could finally leave the cursed area and instead finding out about “The Package” and having to head back to find it just because i can :D

Loving the music and have started to add a few outside pieces like the themes to INVISIBLE INVADERS and VILLAGE OF THE GIANTS for that 1950s doomsday and go-go dancer mood.

  2. Glad it isn’t just BioWare that have been taken by the zombie infection :D .

Very much enjoyed Fallout 3 and look forward to doing a second play through some time :) .

  3. [Patch for Soulstorm eh? May just have to load that up. I really need to get into LBP though…

Heh every time i see the title LITTLE BIG PLANET it reminds me of the 1990s pc classic RELENTLESS TWINSEN’S ADVENTURE by Electronic Arts. Dont know if that was an alternate title for the game or what.

Noticed in your previous WHAT WE’RE PLAYING your into COMPANY OF HEROES. Just got the game recently and definitely alot of fun and bloody.

  4. Checking out NXE, playing NBA 2k9 and I’m gonna play real basketball every not-snowy day. I can’t buy a game until I know which one, and I still do not. King’s Bounty? WotLK? I have no idea, maybe I’ll wait for GTA4 DLC in Febuary…

  5. Fallout 3 since its release, then nothing but Left 4 Dead since its release, however I’d be back to Fallout 3 if a construction set was in my xmas stocking.

  6. Ricardo Gonzalez loved your comment!!
Caught me off gaurd made me laugh…At work not good lol

As for me Fallout 3 of course and alittle Halo 3

  7. i played fallout on my ps3 all weekend. any of you guys got a ps3? you might of heard of it. i think you had something to do with fallout getting released on ps3, right? maybe not. cuz it looks like everyone loves their 360s. i’m gonna laugh if michael’s lbp level is the expansion to fallout for ps3.

  8. has mirror’s edge really been released yet? or maybe it’s just because i don’t live in America? says on Wikipedia it’s out on the 8th of January. guess that’s just here in Europe then :( .

anyway, what i’m playing right now is:

Fallout 3. (eagerly waiting for the G.E.C.K. and the expansion that goes beyond main quest.)

GTA IV… or rather tried to but the computer failed. (gonna get a new one by chrismas or something.)

RCT 3. but only when I’m really bored. (great game but it didn’t last very long.)

and of course some other stuff I’ll find on the way. Keep making games, there’s nothing and I mean NOTHING withing or outside my computer that has ever become as great as a Bethesda game (with a minor exception for half life 2) throughout my entire life. Have a great Weekend, you too!
