What we’re playing

This week’s edition of “What We’re Playing” comes late into the weekend after yours truly spent most of the weekend watching college basketball and crossing his fingers that his alma mater would make the “Big Dance.” Now that they’re in, I can relax and play Peggle.

Here’s the games we’re playing

Chris Esko, Gameplay Programmer: Mirror’s Edge, Puzzle Quest: Galactrix, Peggle.

Fred Zeleny, Agent Z: Rock Band 2, Puzzle Quest: Galactrix, and House of the Dead: Overkill, which is the best purchase I’ve ever made for my Wii, and makes me happy I can play it with one hand, so I can keep a bottle of whiskey in the other.

Pete Hines: Dawn of War II, Fire Emblem DS, something new for 360…TBD

Matt Killmon, Video Producer: Fallout 3 (again, finally!), Viva Piñata 2: Trouble in Paradise, Ace Attorney: Apollo Justice, Prince of Persia.

Gary Noonan, Animator: Star Ocean The Last Hope.

Andrew Scharf: Persona 4, Resident Evil 5 (once I grab it today), WordFu for iPhone.

Ryan Lea, Programmer: Catan, Gears of War 2, Fallout 3.

Ashley Cheng, Production Director: GTA4, WordFu, waiting for Chinatown Wars!

Orin Tresnjak, Graphics Programmer: Flower, Prinny, maybe the new Puzzle Quest, and the figure-out-the-IKEA-instructions minigame.

Shannon Bailey, Programmer: Dominion on a German gaming site, possibly Valkyria Chronicles again while I wonder where all of the turn-based JRPGs went.

Rob Clark, QA: Halo 3, Halo Wars, Call of Duty: World at War, WoW.

Mike Lipari: Galactrix. Before this weekend is out I will have crafted a Vortraag Destroyer or broken my stylus trying.

Dan Ross, QA: DoW 2, Zoo Tycoon, maybe Empire: Total War if I get around to picking it up.

Daryl Brigner, Level Designer: Dead Space, Red Orchestra (Only 4.99 this weekend on Steam!!) and possibly Flower.

E McNeill, QA Tester Intern: Civilization 2, Heroes of Might and Magic 3, World of Goo.

Steve Fraden, Sr QA Tester: Darkfall Queue, Warhammer.

Cory Dornbusch, QA: CoD WaW, and Dawn of War 2.

Aaron Mitschelen, QA: LotRO, Prinny, Persona 4, Onechanbara: Bikini Samurai Squad, WoW, Street Fighter 4, Ar Tonelico 2.

Tim “Visor” Lamb, Producer: Peggle, SF4, COD4

Michael Lattanzia, QA: Darkfall Online, Burnout: Paradise, Monster Hunter Freedom 2, Last Remnant, and building a modular tabletop gaming table for Warhammer/Mordheim!

Mark Lampert, Audio Director: Grand Theft Auto IV, Dead Space, Boggle

Matt Grandstaff, Community Manager: Fable 2, WordFu, Peggle, Street Fighter IV, NCAA Basketball 09: March Madness Edition (Go Blue!).

Jay Woodward, AI Programmer: Board games! The Battlestar board game continually delivers the fun. I need more Lost and Damned time, too.

  1. Finished my ‘neutral’ playthrough of Fallout 3 last week.

That playthrough was considerably shorter than the Good and Bad karma one. Clocking at 48h 54m. Probably because I didn’t do any quest which were outspokenly good or clearly bad karma. Sadly I still had to do some unnatural balancing acts to get the karma back to neutral after some quests. Also played Anchorage on this play through.

Good karma took me 66h 02m. Including Anchorage.

Bad karma took me 75h 59m. Haven’t played Anchorage with this character.

Over the course of the three playthrough I finally got all the achievements… Until the patch added the Pitt achievements.

This will be the first time since November the game will go into the drawer. Just a week and I can take it out again.

Now I’m replaying the Witcher (EE) and Empire: Total War

  2. Fallout 3, at level 20 doing all the quests that I can find… I’m a very evil person and Three Dog hates my guts. Moira doesn’t seem to mind though.
