I’d recommend via Steam if you absolutely must buy via online download and are interested in mods, because Fallout Script Extender (FOSE) will never work with D2D. Steam devs actually helped with adapting FOSE (and its Oblivion predecessor) to work with the Steam version… not so with D2D. Because adapting FOSE to D2D involves illegal cracking, it will never be done.
