As I await my flight to Seattle for PAX 09, I thought I’d update you with the games we’re playing at the office. Batman: Arkham Asylum has officially taken our office by storm — I think Todd’s comment gives you an idea of how much we like the game.
Aside from Batman, there’s plenty of folks here trying to get 100% completion on Shadow Complex, and beginning yesterday, we started our draft for our office Online Franchise in Madden 10 (Go Lions!)
Check out the rest of the games we’re playing below.
Todd Howard: Batman: AA. Best game ever?
Matt Grandstaff: WET, Rogue Warrior, Doom 2, Quake Arena Arcade, Shadow Complex, Batman: Arkham Asylum, Madden 10, Drop 7, and Plants vs. Zombies.
Jon DeVriendt: Heroes of Newerth and Shadow Complex.
Drew Langlois: Shadow Complex, Batman: Arkham Asylum, and Bioshock.
Evan Miller: Definitely Batman: Arkham Asylum. Not only does it look fantastic, but it’s a pretty tight story, and pretty sweet level design.
Matt Ponton: Rock Band 2
Craig Lafferty, Senior Producer: Madden 10, Batman: Arkham Asylum, Wolfenstein
Mike Dulany: Shadow Complex, Batman: Arkham Asylum, and the game of keep-all-my-fingers-attached-to-my-hand-while-using-power-tools.
Matt Weil: Arma 2, The Witcher, and Mirror’s Edge.
Aaron Mitschelen, QA: Shadow Complex, Mana Khemia 2: Fall of Alchemy, and Project Diva: Hatsune Miku.
Adam Adamowicz: Psychonauts.
Brett Douville, Master of the Humidor: Prince of Persia, WET demo, a bit of Braid, and maybe some Condemned 2.
Jen Tonon: World of Warcraft, WET demo, Mothership Zeta expansion, Plants vs Zombies
I’ve been dabbling in a little bit of everything this week.
Brent Krische: Super Mario Bros. 2, Super Mario Bros.: The Lost Levels, Final Fantasy IV DS, Final Fantasy IV: The After Years, Tales of Monkey Island: The Siege of Spinner Cay, ‘Splosion Man, Shadow Complex, Mass Effect, and Gears of War 2
Dane Olds, Artist: Shadow Complex, (Working on that Level 50 Achievement!) Mass Effect DLC, Castle Crashers DLC, and Civ Rev for the iphone.
Nate Purkeypile: Shadow Complex, Batman, Saints Row 2, and Civ Rev on the iPhone.
Ashley Cheng: Madden 2010, Batman: Arkham Asylum
Pete Hines: NCAA Football 10, Arkham Asylum, and Professor Layton.
Mark Lampert: Boggle.
Daryl Brigner: Shadow Complex, Batman: Arkham Asylum (360), and Team Fortress 2 (PC).
Michael Lattanzia, MMO Addict: Champions Online… lots and lots of Champions Online. I might also possibly play some Monster Hunter Freedom Unite.
Ray Jenkins: Batman, Shadow Complex, and also Trials HD.
William Killeen: Batman: Arkham Asylum.
Mike Lipari: Professor Layton and the Diabolical Box if I can find a copy…

sorry, batman doesnt trump fallout 3 as best game ever in my book todd, but its definetely one of the ‘must haves’. p.s. more fallout 3 dlc please (fingers crossed)
Go Splosion Man!
Even better, a Batman/Fallout crossover! Fund it!
Awesome list of games, I’m waiting for Batman to come out on PC before I dive into it.
I’ve always been curious – when you guys at Bethesda play Oblivion or Fallout on PC, do you play with mods at all? Or just vanilla?
Matt Weil has official the best taste in games in Bethesda.
i agree with todd, batman is the best game ever
Yea Batman: Arkham Asylum looks mighty interesting. Saw some preview vids and i really liked what i saw especially the graveyard level with LIVING SKELETONS!!! AGGGHHH! Its supernatural!
As for what am playing at the moment:
FALLOUT 3 ADDON PACK- BROKEN STEEL AND POINT LOOKOUT
WOLFENSTEIN
PENUMBRA Collection
OBLIVION with the excellent W.A.C. mod by Waalx
NECROVISION
CLUTCH its like CARMAGEDDON but with zombies!
DAWN OF WAR DARK CRUSADE
DAGGERFALL
MORROWIND modded to the gills!
Thanks for the space to express
Sorry, Todd – Fallout 3 is still the best game ever, beating Morrowind by a microscopic margin. That said, I’m looking forward to my birthday this year so I can finally get my paws on that Arkham game people seem to like so much.
On the 360 I’m playing:
Batman demo
Wet demo
FO3: Operation Anchorage
Oblivion: Knights of the Nine
On the PC I’m playing:
Monkey Island SE (nearly finished)
Puzzle Quest
Fallout 3 (duh)
Morrowind + mods (double-duh)
Bejewelled Blitz on Facebook (it’s not even funny how addicted I am)
Back to WoW for me! The new expansion announcement got me back into the game. Time to play catch up..
So, what’re the chances of Bethsoft getting the license to Batman from DC, then? Using id Tech 5, please?
I tried playing the Fallout 3 expansions but it did not work. I hope I can play them in the future.
In Fallout 3 there is a quest centred around the Temple of Unity and a New America. At first I wasn’t very interested because I was thinking of 8 hours of the Bush government, but it’s really a cool idea. Is this New America inspired by traditional customs and values of the Founding Fathers era? Any more info on this somewhere? Tradition and imagination will I think be the most important to bring this about.
On a side note, I’ve found a new job and I’m also working on a small councelling company. I’ll no doubt use lessons I learned in Fallout 3 when making that company
Greets.
8 years…
Batman: Arkham Asylum is an excellent, if not slightly short and easy game.
No, Fallout 3 is not the best game ever. There are far too many technological problems preventing it from being anything other than ‘decent’.
If Bethesda got their act together, used a better more up to date engine and had better programming & QA then yes, they’d have a shot at making some very memorable games. Sadly, I don’t think it’ll happen in my lifetime.
Still enjoying Suikoden V, but found time to tackle Broken Steel and improve my drum skills (from mediocre to not-so-mediocre) in GH:WT.
So busy playing batman Eh? Any chance we can get you to pause and get the DLC for fallout out for ps3?
