It seems the devs at our office can’t get enough post-apocalyptic action. When I asked what game should be highlighed for this week’s blog post, S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Call of Pripyat beat out the likes of Heavy Rain and the Starcraft 2 Beta. Impressive…most i.m.p.r.e.s.s.i.v.e.

Check out the full list below…

Matt Weil: Killing Floor, S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Call of Pripyat, and Crysis.

Jay Woodward, Deep C++ Diver: BioShock 2.

Dennis Mejilones: Assassins Creed 2 and Heavy Rain.

Sam Bernstein: I was told I needed to play Shadow of The Colossus so I am doing that, and loving it. This is what I get for not having a PS2.

Dave Ratti: Starcraft 2 Beta.

Dane Olds: S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Call of Pripyat, Mass Effect 2, and Doom II RPG.

Alistair Hatch: I’m mostly playing Bioshock 2, Batman AA, and Alien vs Predator. I will mostly be trying not to play Trials HD as it’s already eaten into too much of my valuable gaming time! Hopefully, I’ll get some decent time on Bioshock 2 as the multiplayer modes really interest me.

Ryan Lea: Demon’s Souls.

Tracey Thompson: Mass Effect 2.

Michael Musick: God of War collection, in anticipation of GoW3’s release. Also planning a board-based Settlers of Catan session over the weekend.

Andrew Scharf: Bioshock 2, KOTOR, and Final Fantasy on iPhone.

Cory Dornbusch: Borderlands and Brutal Legends.

Matthew Dickenson: Cogs.

Zachary Quarles: Mass Effect 2 (coming up on hour 16) and Plants vs. Zombies (Crazy Dave needs to be in every game…ever).

Brent Krische: Mass Effect, Ace Attorney Investigations: Miles Edgeworth, and Endless Ocean 2: Blue World.

Greg Hounsom: Heavy Rain.

Nick Breckon: StarCraft II beta.

Pete Hines: Uncharted 2, Madden, Plants vs. Zombies (iPhone), and BioShock 2

Jon DeVriendt: StarCraft II Beta and Heavy Rain.

Joel Burgess: Mass Effect 2, Heavy Rain, and S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Call of Pripyat.

Greg Ruddick: Oblivion has stolen my soul again.

Steve Perkins: Borderlands, Dante’s Inferno, Tales of Monkey Island – Episode 2, and Plants vs. Zombies (iPhone).

Craig Lafferty: Heavy Rain and Final Fantasy (iPhone).

Jen Tonon: Fable 2, Trials HD, World of Warcraft, and Left 4 Dead 2.

  1. Shadows of the Colossus is in my top 5 games of all time, and I’m glad to see someone like Sam Bernstein discovering it and appreciating its beauty. I’ve had few emotional attachments to a game like I did to that damn horse.

  2. Two games: Sacred:Underworld and Heavy Rain! First console game ever and it works well enough, I just need to get used the controls (I still walk like a zombie!!).

  3. Call of Pripyat is (like the previous ones) one of the most immersive games ever made. It is pure horrific deppressing bliss to play (in the best possible sense). Love it!

  4. [Greg Ruddick: Oblivion has stolen my soul again. ]

Verily the way of the Daedra are monstrous in their potency of presence. I too am enjoying the crimson splendour of the infernal realms once again. This time with no mods and just the original soundtrack. Its amazing how the music fits in so well. I am hearing sounds i never heard before when using outside music. Amazing work of immersive ambience.

Am also enjoying FALLOUT 3 and MORROWIND in the same above fashion. MORROWIND though am using the dungeon mods of Blockhead (Peter Capasso)because they fit in so perfectly with MORROWIND giving a sense of architectural continuity with TES 2 DAGGERFALL. I also dont need to run any extra programs for level lists etc with his mods.

Also playing BORDERLANDS and LEFT4DEAD 2. Planning to pickup SUPREME COMMANDER 2 later this month along with DAWN OF WAR 2 CHAOS RISING.
