With a wait of more than a decade for a sequel, it’s no surprise that StarCraft 2′s release this week is a big deal at our offices. What does surprise me, however, is that more people have mentioned they’re playing Limbo — the creepy puzzle/platform title that’s getting a lot of buzz on Xbox LIVE Arcade. That being said, I’m sure we’ll be seeing StarCraft 2 on What We’re Playing for some time… probably until the year 2025.
Here’s the full run down of what we’re playing. Fee free to star with us the game’s you’re playing.
Ricardo Gonzalez: Limbo. Terrifying. Awesome. Limbo.
Jon DeVriendt: Do you even have to ask? StarCraft II!
Justin Schram: Lots of StarCraft 2.
Todd Vaughn: Limbo, Plants vs. Zombies, and Angry Birds HD.
Madeleine Rabil: Odin Sphere, Little King’s Story, Final Fantasy 8, and Wild Arms 5.
Matt Grandstaff: Limbo, NCAA Football 11, Red Dead Redemption, and Alan Wake “The Signal.”
Ryan Lea: Super Mario Galaxy 2, and The Signal.
Michael Musick: Transformers: War for Cybertron, Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands, and Alan Wake “The Signal” DLC.
Pete Hines: NCAA ’11, Angry Birds, Castle Crashers, and Carcassonne.
Ashley Cheng: Carcassonne for iPhone and NCAA Football 11.
Jay Woodward: Alan Wake “The Signal”, Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney [on iPhone], Limbo, and Catan.
Nick Heller: Still Red Dead Redemption and Virtua Tennis 3 – I will complete Red Dead soon!
Frank Matzke: Red Dead Redemption, God of War III, and Super Street Fighter IV.
Alec Ahearn: After finally beating Demon’s Souls, I started playing WoW again to get ready for Cataclysm. Also playing ModNation Racers and Fallout: New Vegas.
Nick Bonnet: Zombies Ate My Neighbors and Mega Man 10.
Mike Onufrak (QA): Fallout: New Vegas, Team Fortress 2, Left 4 Dead 2, CoD:WaW, and Jet Set Radio Future.
Max Cameron: Limbo, Crackdown 2, and Dragon Quest IX.
Zachary Quarles: Limbo, Final Fantasy iPhone, and Uncharted 2.
Patrick Coleman: Zeno Clash, finishing Mass Effect 2, and possibly L4D2/Alien Swarm if friends are online.
Sarah Plotkin: Fallout 3 DLC, Bioshock, and Psychonauts (a little late in the game for all of them).
Laffy Taylor: Plants vs Zombies and Limbo.
Rick Vicens: NCAA Football 11, Age of Empires 3, and Team Fortress 2.
Gary Powell: Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker, Ninja Gaiden 2, Arcanum: Of Steamworks, and Magick Obscura.
Dane Olds: Just Cause 2, Metro 2033, Starcraft 2, Alan Wake DLC, and maybe starting a new game of Deadspace.
Shannon Bailey: Limbo and Resonance of Fate.
Mike Lipari: Puzzle Quest 2 (when I can pry the DS away from Rachel).
Alistair Hatch: I’ve finally finished RDR so will be concentrating all time on Crackdown 2 and Split / Second.
Peter Sokal: Limbo, StarCraft II, and the Final Fantasy XIV beta.
Orin Tresnjak: Limbo, Starcraft II, and still working on Dragon Quest IX and DeathSpank.
Brent Krische: IRL Tetris. I’m moving. Once I’m settled, I will probably check out the Marvel content for LittleBigPlanet and the new Hydro Thunder. I also picked up Bit.Trip Runner not too long ago and that seems pretty fun.
Jen Tonon: Toy Story 3 (it’s hella fun), WoW, Red Dead Redemption, and New Vegas (… a lot).
Greg Baverstock: I’m playing Alan Wake, Football Manager 2010 (Still!), Harry Potter Lego Years 1-4, and rediscovered Everybodys Golf 2 (PSP).
Michael Lattanzia: Lord of the Rings Online, Monster Hunter Tri, and maybe a few minutes of some other games. Oh, and I’m working on painting my Malifaux miniatures.
Ken Barner: Once I have my new computer I plan to play SC2, DoW2, RDD, ME2, etc. At Otakon I played Rez again, Munchkin, MtG, and some Japanese plane-shooter where the pilots are women in victorian dresses.

Enjoying STARCRAFT 2 big time. Havent had this much fun since playing OBLIVION for the first time. The coding is amazing with all the settings on high or ultra without any slowdowns on fps even with massive troops butchering each other into a fine mixture of molten slag and zerg cellular oozing acid.
Also jumping into Raven’s SINGULARITY which is an interesting mix of puzzles, strong atmosphere and shooter. Didnt realise for hours that to pick up the first gun i came across i had to keep the button pressed down for a brief second instead of tapping it once like i was doing. Ugh my name is Charlie Brown.
Between my brief breaks of STARCRAFT 2 i’ve been doing some heavy exploring in FALLOUT 3 with the POINT LOOKOUT DLC. Frigging amazing how many creepy fun quests there are in it and the characters on the island are interesting to put it mildly. Too bad some of them got killed. They were so likeable it made me want to take up there cause. Its also great how things that are happening at POINT LOOKOUT connect with certain creepy events in the wasteland thus sending me on a quest there thats already part of the original game. Nice connection there. Its also interesting how the island is a mish mosh of so many different religions. I’ll be heading to THE PITT after this considering thats one more place of interest which was mentioned by one of the island inhabitants.
Also playing OBLIVION GAME OF THE YEAR EDITION to see how the game plays without the other DLCs installed. Will be interesting to see if i have to go criminally on a certain magic shops door locks or not.
No fair, the one guy is going to be playing Fallout: New Vegas!!!
Grrr! you get Fallout NV first! I can’t wait to play it.
I’m also speculating on what Bethesda softworks is making.
Verily King Of The Wastes tis a fortunate chap to indulge in the virtual sins and virtual virtues of FALLOUT: NEW VEGAS. Yet are we not all blessed in our own ways?
The STARCRAFT 2 campaign is beyond words incredible. I usually would be playing skirmish mode by now if this was another rts but the campaign is so captivating and marvelous i dont want to ruin having all the units available to me in skirmish mode. A masterpiece of story telling, strategy and visual eye candy especially those works of art cut scenes.
@ Nick Bonnet – I salute you! Zombies Ate My Neighbors is one of the best games EVER! I wish they would put it up on PSN.
Started a new game of Diablo 2 today and playing as a class that I’ve never experienced before: The Necromancer!
I’m playing a lot of Fall From Heaven 2 for Civ 4, and yesterday I started a new game of Sid Meyers “Pirates!”. I guess I’ve been hit by a Firaxis bug.
Mainly playing PSOne games on my PSP: Nightmare Creatures II, Mortal Kombat 4, Quake II, Final Doom, Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver and Silent Hill (very creepy game!).

You have discovered the secret abstract reality version of TES which never ends always returns during the creation of the next chapter. Oh what a long waiting game it is with a stamina of years!
Still playing STARCRAFT 2 as i try to survive the last mission while happy how fortunate i am not to suffer overheating gpu’s as others have reported due to uncapped framerates and no vsync. Might have something to do with overclocking aswell. Looks like i’ll be checking out skirmish mode today just to take a break from the manic last campaign mission now that i’ve seen all the units…then again.
lol i am playing the same game as angry TES fan. and Starcraft 2
