August 10, 2010 (Rockville, MD) – Bethesda Softworks®, a ZeniMax® Media company, today revealed the star-studded voice over cast for Fallout®: New Vegas, the follow-up game to the critically acclaimed Fallout® 3Fallout: New Vegas features Golden Globe-winner and two time Emmy nominated actor Ron Perlman (“Hellboy”, “Sons of Anarachy”), Screen Actors Guild-winner and Emmy and Golden Globe nominated actor Matthew Perry (“Friends”), Mr. Las Vegas himself, Wayne Newton, William Sadler (“Shawshank Redemption”), Zach Levi (“Chuck”), Felicia Day (“The Guild”), Michael Dorn (“Star Trek:The Next Generation”), Kris Kristofferson (“Blade Trilogy,”), Danny Trejo (“Machete”, “From Dusk Till Dawn”), John Doman (“Mystic River”, “The Wire”) and Rene Auberjonois (“Boston Legal”, “Star Trek: Deep Space Nine”).

“The Fallout franchise has taken narratives in interactive entertainment to the next level, and we could not be more excited about the all-new celebrity lineup for Fallout: New Vegas,” said Pete Hines, Vice President of PR and Marketing for Bethesda Softworks. “The voice acting provided by these actors helps drive the compelling and immersive story of Fallout and further adds to the overall gameplay experience.”

Ron Perlman returns to voice the narrator in Fallout: New Vegas, a role he has played in every major Fallout game to date.  Matthew Perry plays Benny, a smooth-talking, two faced gangster, and Wayne Newton takes on the role as “Mr. New Vegas,” the radio DJ of the Mojave Wasteland.

Three celebrities take on roles as playable companions in Fallout: New Vegas: Danny Trejo is Raul the Ghoul, a mechanic and former gunslinger; Zach Levi is Arcade, a member of the Followers of the Apocalypse who hides a mysterious past, and Felicia Day is Veronica, a sarcastic Brotherhood of Steel scribe.

The epic cast continues with Kris Kristofferson as Chief Hanlon, a grizzled soldier at the end of his career, and Rene Auberjonois as the enigmatic and reclusive Mr. House. Michael Dorn reprises his role as Marcus, an intelligent super mutant, who was last seen in 1998’s Fallout® 2; John Doman is Caesar, the charismatic and powerful dictator at the head of Caesar’s Legion. William Sadler plays Victor, a friendly robot with the personality of an old fashioned cowboy.

In addition to this star-studded cast, players can expect to hear even more celebrity cameos throughout the world of Fallout: New Vegas.

  1. Wowzers this is gonna be some thick pro voiced dialogue. The over the top realism is gonna be scary with such talent.

Is it Memorex or is it Bethesda Obsidian?

  2. All I have to say, is EVERY NPC had better have a unique voice in this game. Yeah, it gets a little boring hearing the same voice in 500 different characters throughout the game. For a game with this scope, I expected a little better.

  3. wow i’m more excited for this than i thought i’d be!

f’in WAYNE NEWTON as a radio DJ! the return of Marcus and Michael Dorn’s awesome voice! Danny Trejo’s incomparably cool badassedness! Rene Auberjonois’s perfect smugness for Mr. House! Kristofferson’s tar-and-broken-glass voice as a tough wastelander! Felicia Day’s perky sarcasm! William Sadler’s talent for alternately sounding warm and avuncular or cold and hostile!

yep, the voice talent is looking pretty awesome! i just hope that they have more than 3 other voice actors for the rest of the 23,547 characters in the game.

i’d never seen the clip of Perry talking about FO3 – he must be pretty thrilled to be involved in NV. ( http://kotaku.com/5216789/could-matthew-perry-play-any-more-fallout-3 ) hey, Matt, here’s a tip: get a PC. aside from a zillion other advantages, the ergonomics are as good as you make them!

also, i’m quite satisfied with the West Coast Mariposa-style mutant reskinning! warts and cybergear! THANK YOU!

  4. snow regularly appears in the high desert. i was just in Northern Nevada last week and saw patches of snow still on some peaks – in August! even the lower deserts can get snow – California’s Death Valley can get a pretty hefty layer. see the pics at ( http://www.wrh.noaa.gov/vef/projects/inyosnow/misc.php ).

you could also chalk it up to nuclear winter, but it’s been 200 years and the skies look pretty clear.

  5. Ha, I was wondering of Matthew Perry would be a VA, he had commented on playing FO3 a lot.

Nice voice cast. Not that I needed more incentive to be excited about this game.

  6. so Perrys massive advertising and suffering for F03 paid off :-D. I’m sure he has given it his best since there can be no doubt that he is a pasionate Fallout fan now!

I was also, like others, wondering if his comments during the F03 period wouldn’t land him something.

Other then that it looks like a great cast and hopefully the many other talking NPS’s will be better voiced than in F03.

MARCUS IS BACK! Both Thumps up for that, (you don’t need to do that Perry ;-)) and thumps up for the retro look of him, thought i recognized that mutant from somewhere :-)

On another note it’s it is now finally possible to get the CE here in DK (more then one place and at a reasonable price). Thank you!
It seems only the merc digi pack will be advailable though, but it’s better than nothing!

  7. I can’t believe this! Marcus (and the other super mutants) actually look like the Mariposa mutants…they’re actually GREEN! And they have warts! And PUPILS!

@Hellbishop… bonus points if you Photoshop the Memorex guy that gets blown away with a Vault Boy head. ]

Agh! I gots no Photoshop Mister gstaff! I probably will pretty soon though considering am seeing about getting back to school to learn some hands on computer graphics work with a push and a kick in the pants off the creative cliff of fly or die from my friends :D

Congratulations Emilio and thank you for something violently wonderful to enjoy in my cd art collection :)

  9. There are also FO3 style mutants in the game, aren’t there? Can’t fault the nostalgia pandering, but mod project #1 for me will be turning them all back to mutants instead of orcs.

  10. @rhoark “Can’t fault the nostalgia pandering, but mod project #1 for me will be turning them all back to mutants instead of orcs.”

i think the Eastern and Western (“Mariposa”) mutants are supposed to be different effects of Forced Evolutionary Virus mutation. FEV seems to vary mutations based on the infected creature and the mutatable creatures around it (the most extreme example being the Master). further variation can be explained by different stages of exposure to FEV, exposure to radiation, and even various strains of FEV itself. the centaurs, for example, probably include some human source material but are definitely different from the super mutants.

generally, FEV and massive radiation contamination are nifty plot devices to put a variety of critters in the game. vaguely familiar but horrifically mutated creatures make for fun enemies, and FEV + nuclear fallout means you don’t have to worry too much about where they came from – it’s an ugly world out there.
