In Fallout: New Vegas, players will have the opportunity to play a unique card game, Caravan, during their adventures in the Mojave Wasteland. To tide you over until New Vegas releases next month, the folks at IGN have put up the rules to playing the game.
Grab a couple decks of cards and start practicing! And if you want to play the game in style, don’t forget to pre-order the New Vegas collector’s edition — featuring a New Vegas-themed cards.

This could be what Arcomage was for MIGHT AND MAGIC 7+8. A game within a game! A diversion delving deeply without distracting! The dream behind a facade real! CARAVAN! CARAVAN! CARAVAN!
Woah! I got ahead of myself by at least a year.
Thank you IGN for helping us to..prepare.
this game is missing something very, very important: it needs a festive word to be shouted when declaring victory. think “blackjack!” or “UNO!” or something…
“SOLD!”
“ROLL OUT!”
“CAPS!”
I think you guys need to make an online arcade game that lets you play caravan, and also have a simple computer played web game, I wanna play caravan more now that I know how to play!
An in game tutorial would be real helpful. Maybe my brains don’t work so good anymore but I had a tough time following the explanation of the rules.
I would have loved to see some Texas hold’em poker, like in red dead redemption.
I have the PC version. I can not play a card other than a face card on any stacks. I start with a 2 can not play a 3, 4, 5, or more on it. I start one with a 10, same thing. I can wipe out my stack or the NPC with the jack, or play the king on them.
Im honestly not sure its a bug on my end or I am not grasping the rules. But I find it hard to believe I can not play any numbered cards on my stacks. I can go through them with the arrow keys, but then its red on each stack no matter what # it is….
No where in the game does is show the controls for playing the game, THIS IS A COMPLETE FAIL, VERY ANGRY!!
@Thrymm
Move the card when you’ve selected one from you’re hand up and down with arrow keys, you can lay cards on and next to another card on the caravan
Can caravan be released as a stand alone xbla or psn game? That would be fun. The only issue you need to solve is the trading of the cards. Or a little advantage for the new vegas players, who could intergrate their fnv caravan dech into the arcade game.
