What we’re playing: Duty calls again

Captain Obvious here with news that our teams are spending this weekend playing Call of Duty: Black Ops. Surprise! What’s also not surprising is that many other popular new releases are getting plenty of playtime. Amongst the favorites are Fable 3, Super Meat Boy, and Red Dead Redemption: Undead Nightmare.

  1. It would be nice if I could claim Im playing NEW VEGAS… unfortunately I am not going to bother playing that game until it is fixed. I suppose downloading Castlevania SotN was a good decision…

  2. bleh… Call of Duty is getting too big for the market. the single player modes are really good (haven’t played Black Ops), but the multiplayer modes are unimaginative, predictable, and far away from reality.

    i think CoD is one of those things that’ll slow down an entire industry just by lowering everyone’s expectations. their hype machine effortlessly dominates the market, taking attention away from better multiplayer experiences (the Battlefield franchise) or causing potentially progressive games to be bound to CoD’s recipe for success (who cares about MoH: Tier 1? no one, since they tried to imitate CoD.).
