The dragon is out of the bag. The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim will hit stores in under 11 months, and we couldn’t wait until after the holidays before tearing into it with executive game director Todd Howard.
This brief, but boisterous episode of the Bethesda Podcast includes a discussion of Todd’s trip to the VGAs, his thoughts on keeping secrets, info on where to hear more about Skyrim in the coming weeks, and a bonus John Carmack story.

Thanks guys. Appreciate the updates
Nice! When is the newsletter coming out?
Awesome! I’m gonna listen to it now
111111 is 63 in binary.
Sweet.
Short but good. Love the TES medley at the end. IMO some of Jeremy Soule’s best work!
Morrowind one is my favorite though, the best piece of videogame music so far. The new one though (if that is going to be the intro music) sounds like a contender to that title
Can i get the Game informer magazine in the UK? because i know its a US based mag but really REALLY want to get it in Feb
Plzzzz Help
This was cool- though too bloody short!
reply to WiLLLLL
They’ve said elsewhere that they are showing to magazines in other countries as well, don’t know which ones, eg see this Twitter message http://twitter.com/DCDeacon/status/14680672635453440
Sweet, looking forward to listening to this tomorrow at work. I could almost cheat myself and listen to it tonight, but then what would I distract myself with tomorrow?
Waitaminute, its only 13 minutes long, might as well listen to it now then…
That was really cool! They said that the magazine was coming out next month, although it’s been said that it will be available in February. Can you correct this inconsistency?
It was neat how they did it so that you didn’t see him until just as they announced him, hiding behind monks. Todd should definitely have put on a robe, though.
Love the end of the Podcast with the Morrowind, Oblivion, and Skyrim intro music playing : ) Oblivion’s music is my fav. but Skyrim fits the best in my opinion.

I think those with Game Informer subscriptions get an early copy in the post (depending on the post), and it’s available in the shops later eg http://twitter.com/Bethblog/status/14328096291299328 – or it’s the Febuary issue, which actually comes out in January?? one or the other
^^^love the music too
One of the best things in the world is to hear Todd talk about Elder Scrolls. I just can’t wait to hear this when I get home from work.
@erik
It’s no inconsistency, subscribers will get it next month and it will hit newsstands in February.
My favorite part of the PodCast was when Todd thanked us fans (repeatedly) for keeping them motivated by talking about this since the day OB was released. We love you too Todd and I would like to thank you and all of Bethesda for so fully and openly embracing the modding community, especially Robin Scott and all that he has done. I’m looking forward to saying I told you so to all the haters that thought this day would never come. The next 11 months should prove to be very entertaining.
Hmmm…Todd Podcasts!Yummy!
We love you too Todd!
Thank you so much! I look forward to many more Podcasts about Elder Scrolls and Skyrim. Please have one where you ask Todd to give his reflections about Morrowind and Oblivion too (we fans always love that).
i can understand the secret side of it all would be nice to get a percentage on how far you guys are done though

Oh God when they gave a “shout out” to the Speculation thread, I felt so embarrassed. Grasping at straws is never fun, but it gave us something to do.
They should add the ability to throw your weapon and spells that enchant your weapons and shields and such temporarily.
I think that now bethesda should make a only type rpg with the elder scrolls games. that would be one of the best selling game of all times.
