Decoding the Dragon Text

crypto-610.jpg

As mentioned earlier today, the back cover for Game Informer’s Skyrim issue features some cryptic dragon text. All day we’ve seen some valiant efforts to translate it, but no one’s been able to crack the code.

Trust us, you’re going to have better results if you using Game Informer’s secret decoder ring translation key.

Head here to get started, and stay tuned to Game Informer’s Skyrim hub this month for more details on the game.

We thought, it is english. The song made sense.
But now, the new language has another meaning.

    Really great :)

    Translated:

    dragonborn dragonborn
    by his honor is sworn
to keep evil forever at bay
    and the fiercest foes rout
    when they hear triumph’s shout
dragonborn for your blessing we pray

    and the scrolls have fortold
of black wings in the cold
that when brothers wage war come unfurled
    alduin bane of kings
    ancient evil unbound
with a hunger to swallow the world

I guess that means that the big bad guy of Skyrim is going to be a black dragon named Alduin?

  3. cover translation :
    DRAGONBORN DRAGONBORN
    BY HIS HONOR IS SWORN
TO KEEP EVIL FOREVER AT BAY
    AND THE FIERCEST FOES ROUT
    WHEN THEY HEAR TRIUMPH’S SHOUT
DRAGONBORN FOR YOUR BLESSING WE PRAY

    AND THE SCROLLS HAVE FORTOLD
OF BLACK WINGS IN THE COLD
THAT WHEN BROTHERS WAGE WAR COME UNFURLED
    alduin BANE OF KINGS
    ANCIENT SHADOW UNBOUND
WITH A HUNGER TO SWALLOW THE WORLD
