Get SMART Series: The Basics

We’re pleased to release the first video in Brink’s ‘Get SMART series’.  With only two weeks to go until Brink hits shelves, we thought we’d offer up some helpful advice on how to get to grips with the innovative new shooter.

Stay tuned for more videos from this series. Brink releases on the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC in North America on May 10, 2011 and across Europe on May 13, 2011. For more information on Brink visit www.BrinkTheGame.com.

  1. BRINK BRINK BRIIIINK! I NEED YOU :D Wish they could put out a video showing a bit more of all the customization options. But seriosly can’t wait for Brink :)

  2. nice video! however, the choice of narrator was completely wrong.

the supply meter is pretty cool. it lets players use abilities a lot in intense situations, but otherwise requires them to carefully choose their use. some games allow too much special item/ability use, which can drown a game in spam, and others allow too little use, slowing down fights.

  3. oh, also, it’d be nice to see what the PC objective & ability selection methods are like. the directional pad is a decent input method on consoles: it’s flexible and fairly intuitive (but follows the otherwise awful, awful ergonomics of console controllers). there’s no such thing on a keyboard and mouse, and companies have had varying degrees of success with adapting their console schemes to them.

i gotta admit, i wasn’t really worried about anything with Brink – until now.

  4. Brilliant video, love the walk-through style of the video explaining how the interface works and how the game modes are different. VERY well done, and hats off troops. Really digging the Borderlands type of graphics and the Shadowrun feel of the Corp vs. the Slum. I’m stoked about the team centric nature and the lack of immediate respawn is genious – THANK YOU for deturring the run’n’respawn mentality of gamer to other areas of xbox live. The objective based and team approach with the leveling and unlocking aspect without overpowering is enough to bring this long time gamer back to trying a new FPS MP. I’ve pre-ordered. Looking forward to it.

  5. Hi, I have a question, PSN has been down and the PSN store won’t be up for awhile and maybe even after 5/10 so what will happen to the pre-order code that I’ll be buying from Amazon.com for PS3?
