BETHESDA SOFTWORKS REVEALS DOWNLOADABLE CONTENT PLANS FOR FALLOUT®: NEW VEGAS™

Three Additional Add-on Packs Releasing in Coming Months
for Xbox 360, PlayStation®3 system and Windows PCs

May 3, 2011 (Rockville, MD) – Bethesda Softworks®, a ZeniMax® Media company, today announced three downloadable content packs will be released in the coming months for Fallout®: New Vegas™. The three packs will be released simultaneously for the Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft, PlayStation®3 computer entertainment system, and Windows-based PCs.

Honest Hearts™, Old World Blues™ and Lonesome Road™ will further expand upon Fallout: New Vegas. Fallout: New Vegas takes all the action, humor and post-apocalyptic grime and grit of this legendary series, and raises the stakes.

Available on May 17, Honest Hearts takes you on an expedition to the unspoiled wilderness of Utah’s Zion National Park. Things go horribly wrong when your caravan is ambushed by a tribal raiding band. As you try to find a way back to the Mojave, you become embroiled in a war between tribes and a conflict between a New Canaanite missionary and the mysterious Burned Man. The decisions you make will determine the fate of Zion.

In Old World Blues, releasing in June, you will discover how some of the Mojave’s mutated monsters came to be when you unwittingly become a lab rat in a science experiment gone awry. You’ll need to scour the Pre-War research centers of the Big Empty in search of technology to turn the tables on your kidnappers or join forces with them against an even greater threat.

Lonesome Road, available in July, brings the courier’s story full circle when you are contacted by the original Courier Six, a man by the name of Ulysses who refused to deliver the Platinum Chip at the start of New Vegas. In his transmission, Ulysses promises the answer as to why, but only if you take one last job –a job that leads you into the depths of the hurricane-swept canyons of the Divide, a landscape torn apart by earthquakes and violent storms. The road to the Divide is a long and treacherous one, and of the few to ever walk the road, none have ever returned.

Reviews of Fallout: New Vegas have called the game as “an utterly essential purchase” (MSN UK) and as “addictively, rambunctiously fun” (Entertainment Weekly). The Associated Press awarded it a 4 out of 4 stars and said “Bottom Line: It’s a Blast”, while GameSpy gave it 4.5 out of 5 stars and called Fallout: New Vegas “one of the best games of the year.”

All downloadable content for Fallout: New Vegas will be available for download on Xbox LIVE® for 800 Microsoft Points, the PlayStation®Network for $9.99, and both Steam and Direct2Drive for $9.99.

Published by Bethesda Softworks and developed at Obsidian Entertainment, Dead Money, Honest Hearts, Old World Blues, Lonesome Road, and Fallout: New Vegas have been rated M for Mature by the ESRB.  For more information on Fallout: New Vegas, including the game’s downloadable content, please visit http://fallout.bethsoft.com.

Reader Comments

  1. After completing Honest Hearts the NCR & Crimson Caravan have become hostile even though my karma is idolized I can dress as one of the NCR and some don’t attack but I can no longer complete main missions because of this.

I am somewhat annoyed by this once again a DLC released with bugs that ruin the game for me.

    Thanks Bethesda.

  2. Well after reading all the comments here I have just a few things to say.

1st to narrow your definition of a RPG to Quest and Dialogue seriously limits the depth you can achieve in a RPG game. Being able to be unrestricted and explore the world you are playing in opens up many Tactical options for those of us who like to truly fall into the Roles we play. Also, this view leaves your quests and ultimate end of the game very linear which is BORING!!!!!!!! Think about it in reality would you take the suggestions of someone you don’t know on how to handle a situation or would you review the available info and come up with your own unique solution? I think we both know that you’d do it your own way.. No matter what some NPC tells you.. As i’ve played through New Vegas thats what I have done and well I like seeing my plans turn out…
2nd Not being able to play past the end of the Main Quest sort of defeats the point of an open world. I mean on my first play through I chose to be the Master of my own destiny and after kicking the crap out of everyone I don’t even get to experience the spoils of my victory.. Talk about super LAME…. Beside that why setup a story where you are going to be the KING (basically) of your own town but not get to carry on after the fight? What kind of grass are you guys smoking over there??
3rd This one might just be me.. But really? Having to leave your companions behind to do any of the DLC? What kind of crap is that?? You work hard to gain the trust of your companions completeing quests and doing all that stuff only to leave them behind to run off and fix some other problems some where else.. I collected my companions so I could use them to my advantage. I don’t need them I want them.. And last I checked it is the function of any company to give their customers what they want not what you want…. So lets get it right… GIVE US WHAT WE WANT…. Or next time you make a game you may find yourself without customers!!!!!!!!! The stories should still stand even with the companions there might even add additional quests to the story… Maybe saving your companion from being captured during the Raid in HH.. I mean lets get creative here… No more cookie cutter crap… There is enough of that out there already… Raise the bar….We want it and the best part of that for you is that we’ll pay for it… So lets see it…. Thnx for listening… BLADEOG

  3. CANT WAIT FOR THE OTHER TWO TO COME OUT I BEAT BOTH DLC’S ALREADY WITHOUT FALLOUT MY VIDEO GAME EXPERIENCE IS TRASH STILL PLAY EVERYDAY EVEN IF I BEATEN THE WHOLE GAME I LOVE TO LOOT FOR STUFF : )

  4. Im on the PS3 and for a few weeks it went offline and i had dead money and when it came back up i still coudnt play dead money and i deleted everything i had of new vegas on my ps3 and after i did that i downloaded dead money again started a new game and i still coundlt get to play dead money i was about to beat it when PSN went offline any suggestions?

  5. well here it is friday 2nd of june and still no info on the release date for Old World Blues come on its posted they are done come on throw use a bone here i cleaned my xbox heck i even got new controler and batts for it……cleaned the tv etc…. i am going nuts waiting to play……..

  6. ok come on put the trailer out or just post the release date i dont have enough meds left i have to spread them out for the wait haha

  7. well even though i had played thru fallout 3 and all its add-on’s (more times the i want to post haha) i still love to walk the land and find raiders and speaking for the fallout 3 set thats what i love about it that the npc’s will respawn and you can hunt them agian. then Vegas came out (yes i have all the DLC’s also) and i can same about the same thing as far as playing thru it over and over. while i am waiting for the last 2 DLC’s to get released i find myself ar an odd impass i loved the feel of Vegas during the game play even though i was not a big fan of the ridged story line you had to follow. but there was enough room for those of us that just want to rome about. then Dead money came out i had a great time with that one but felt let down by not being able to return to it to loot and hunt the ghost guys. about the time i was getting over the rage about that i went back and played thru vegas a few more times. then you dropped the DLC honest harts and man was i impressed the work on the graphics ruled i love the play thru on it but then came the part that i feel let us roamers down no hostel npc’s respawn, no raders to chase, etc… but to beable to return to it was a good off set to that. yes i have already played thru it many many times. now we wait for the release of the next DLC old world blues. i have been to about all the pages i can find reading up on it. i just hope as i read you will be able to go back to it. also i hope that it has some bad npc’s that will respawn so on the return trips we have things to hunt…….

  8. The high tech assassin suit better let us go invis like fallout 3 chinese stealth armor. I could care less about an onboard comp that gives me stimpacks, i have over 200 on my main guy, i just to be invisible again. I mean think about it, FNV has so many more silenced weapons then fallout 3 that it just makes invisible armor even more practical.

  9. I finished Fallot: New Vegas, and downloaded Honest Hearts & Lonesome Road but how do I get them to play after the end of the game. Thank You

  10. hey john minnig Lonesome Road, is not released yet i think you mean dead money its starts by going to the old brotherhood bunker next to forloren hope

  11. ok folks it’s the 7th of the month i think you can trow the bone to us about Lonesome Road,as in when the heck as you posting the DLC and mybe alittle more info on Old World Blues. after all its folks like us that help keep your jobs by buying them?

  12. hmmm still nothing ? i know they are busy with the e3 stuff but they need to think about the folks that have been here supporting them u think. oh i off to play more fallout till they post some thing new

  13. my DLC stopped working when psn got shutdown I downloaded honest hearts and dead money already had classic pack I erased everything I had and started over still nothing whats going on???

  14. well i’ll throw my 2 cents in the mix……. from what i have read and seen thru the net and even the dribble they have posted about the DLC’s.
first off i am a huge fan of fallout i have spent many many hours playing it raiders, death claws, BOS, and others have given my hours of endless pain and joy and yes as a vault lifer i have all the addon’s for F3 some where better then others even with all the bugs i still replay them over and over.
then New Vegas’ hit the street…….
once agian as a vault junkie i played thru many times got the addon’s during some of the play i was like oh man this rocks other times with some of the bugs it’s been like are you kidding they did not fix this with all the updates….. but still i must say if i look at each of these games then each of the DLC’s that came out i can see where they have tried to change things for the better… but as with all sometimes it works other times you know.
some here we are now waiting for the next DLC i have read all about “it will be out on or should be out by” truth be told none of that realy matters it will be out when it gets out they only posted it should be out in june. as i see it that was only a lose time frame, or a target goal date.
but as i have said as a vault junkie i will wait……(i did not say i would be nice while i wait )…
i was watching the E 3 show and it became very clear they are moving on to bigger games that is good but it’s kinda sad when you look at all the die hard vault junkies out there but that is the world ( biger and better things)
i hope as we all due that they find the path back to the vault and build bigger and better addons or even ,,,dare i say it a new fallout
well thanks for reading thats my 2 cents

  15. Please release a date for old world blues no joke i must check the FNV wikia page or this page maybe twice an hour to see if theres any new info please just give me the release date i wont tell any one lol :-)

  16. hope old world blues comes out soon the anticipation is killin me! :c :P

Ps.i dont realy care about bugs honestly but the minigun bug is going to make me loose my mind. D:

  17. ok its the 15 th now e3 is done we all know that you folks had to pimp out your new game ( i will say it looks good) but throw a bone to us vault junkies give us some info please i am sick of read the post in the all the other sites… this is new, it will be like, should be out by ,,,,,,,etc i am read your site for the new news but you guys have to put some thing out come on i know you want too……..

  18. Need info please.. Release date… New weapons and new locations details in that order you have untill sundown to comply this message will also self destruct in 10 seconds 9…. 8… lol

  19. seriously, would you guys at least throw us a frickin’ bone about the DLC, maybe like some background or something, because otherwise, i’m going crazy waiting for this thing!

  20. I had thought the addon pack “OLD world BLues” was suppost to come out on Jun 14th.
Or at least thats what gamespot said.

  21. ah these look awesome but i wish you could keep play the game after it finishes that would be amazing coz it feels like theres always that one mission you cant do because if you do it the game ends. blah :L

  22. why dont u put aliens in it a little more wild wasteland shows an encounter but there needs somthing like area 51 or bring the enclave to vegas somthing like that will make it a little more fun and you guys done good on honest hearts but i diddnt get to play dead money

  23. Okay, so im hoping OWB brings even more to the table than dead money and honest hearts. Not that they didnt already have a lot within their storylines, but I just left Zion craving a bit more…which is exactly how a DLC is supposed to work to get you to buy the next one. But aside from the consumer aspect, as a big vault junkie, I really am expecting to be almost blown away with OWB. Not only by the hopfully great main questline, but by the other secrets that are planted in The Big Empty. Especially with this bit of extra time to refine the experience. So thats how I personally feel, but about the release date, I have heard that it will come out in June for sure…therefore, now that the 21st is out of the equation, I expect OWB on the 28th. The only doubt I have is that as far as I know there is still no trailer, but that is about the only thing that scares me. As optimistic as it sounds, I honestly believe the 28th will be the day every vault dweller has been waiting for, and I cant wait.

  24. AWESOME i love how your going into the life of the couirer in lonesome road and how you go to the big empty I LOVE THAT YOU PUT IN THOSE ROBO SCORPIONS robots needed a bigger approach i just have one question You know how you went to utah on Honest hearts does that mean that you get to go to californa some time you know FINALLY AN NCR DLC maybe go to Washington some time you know a bigger BoS DLC any way umm msg me back about my ideas if you can c ya

  25. It is July 29th when is Lonesome road coming im soooooo excited to finally learn more of the couriers past and back story?

    BTW love the game :)

  26. whats happening with the last release date its the end of july now and no news on lonesome road the previous dlcs were very short though the last one old world bules was a great improvment it was still lacking a bit in story and side missions. hope that beatasoft decide to continue the fallout jonra with future fallout games.
please tell me when and how soon can i download the new and last dlc for new vegas??

  27. you guys always dissapoint, its past july now, still no word on lonesome road. Are you testing it or what? chances are this add on will be glitchy as hell anyway. just give us a damn release date we can count on and a trailer ok

  28. Ok i’m really getting tired of not having a release date on lonesome road! I mean you said it would be out in July and it’s August. This is really disappointing.
