BETHESDA SOFTWORKS REVEALS DOWNLOADABLE CONTENT PLANS FOR FALLOUT®: NEW VEGAS™
Three Additional Add-on Packs Releasing in Coming Months
for Xbox 360, PlayStation®3 system and Windows PCs
May 3, 2011 (Rockville, MD) – Bethesda Softworks®, a ZeniMax® Media company, today announced three downloadable content packs will be released in the coming months for Fallout®: New Vegas™. The three packs will be released simultaneously for the Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft, PlayStation®3 computer entertainment system, and Windows-based PCs.
Honest Hearts™, Old World Blues™ and Lonesome Road™ will further expand upon Fallout: New Vegas. Fallout: New Vegas takes all the action, humor and post-apocalyptic grime and grit of this legendary series, and raises the stakes.
Available on May 17, Honest Hearts takes you on an expedition to the unspoiled wilderness of Utah’s Zion National Park. Things go horribly wrong when your caravan is ambushed by a tribal raiding band. As you try to find a way back to the Mojave, you become embroiled in a war between tribes and a conflict between a New Canaanite missionary and the mysterious Burned Man. The decisions you make will determine the fate of Zion.
In Old World Blues, releasing in June, you will discover how some of the Mojave’s mutated monsters came to be when you unwittingly become a lab rat in a science experiment gone awry. You’ll need to scour the Pre-War research centers of the Big Empty in search of technology to turn the tables on your kidnappers or join forces with them against an even greater threat.
Lonesome Road, available in July, brings the courier’s story full circle when you are contacted by the original Courier Six, a man by the name of Ulysses who refused to deliver the Platinum Chip at the start of New Vegas. In his transmission, Ulysses promises the answer as to why, but only if you take one last job –a job that leads you into the depths of the hurricane-swept canyons of the Divide, a landscape torn apart by earthquakes and violent storms. The road to the Divide is a long and treacherous one, and of the few to ever walk the road, none have ever returned.
Reviews of Fallout: New Vegas have called the game as “an utterly essential purchase” (MSN UK) and as “addictively, rambunctiously fun” (Entertainment Weekly). The Associated Press awarded it a 4 out of 4 stars and said “Bottom Line: It’s a Blast”, while GameSpy gave it 4.5 out of 5 stars and called Fallout: New Vegas “one of the best games of the year.”
All downloadable content for Fallout: New Vegas will be available for download on Xbox LIVE® for 800 Microsoft Points, the PlayStation®Network for $9.99, and both Steam and Direct2Drive for $9.99.
Published by Bethesda Softworks and developed at Obsidian Entertainment, Dead Money, Honest Hearts, Old World Blues, Lonesome Road, and Fallout: New Vegas have been rated M for Mature by the ESRB. Awesome
Thank you for the new info on the latest DLC. Can we have a trailer for the new dlc please which was suppose to be released this month thanks again
About time. Sounds promising. Gotta wait till July till it comes full circle sucks. Word of advice create a new dlc (maybe connecting 3 and newvegas) exclusive to the game of the year edition. You will sell more.
and here i though you forgot about us fallout new vegas fans. dead money was a blast, so i cant wait to get my hands on Honest Hearts
Oddly enough, I’m more excited about the expanded story than any new items or gameplay mechanics. After reading up on everything I could about the Burned Man and everything else, I can’t wait to see what is mere legend and speculation, and what’s real.
@Mike… there’s definitely a lot of speculation out there and not all of it is accurate. But with the content only two weeks away, all will be revealed soon.
Oh. My. God.
Omg finally =D prepared to waste some hour’s on this…… i wonder how many….. god i hope they put crossbows or bow and arrows in =D
No area 51 DLC
These look cool tho
Burning man!?
EXPLETIVES!
Great news!!!! on another subject will there be more than 4 DLC’s for NV? or thats that regarding add-ons? sorry if I sound like a spoilt brat.
Heck, it was about time! ; )
I L-O-V-E-D every second of New Vegas, it is right now one of may fav games ever, and I can hardly wait to get more of it.
The expanded story seems pretty seems great! Everything seems great! Get 17th of May already ! ! !
As long as these new DLCs arent anything like dead money, i hated the way that played out. I am a huge fallout fan and buy everything anyway but i expect alittle more.
The Burned man and courier six ad ons seem to catch my attention cant wait whats the story on those
Providing the PSN and the Playstation Store is actually online I might get this, obviously we’ll have to wait and see if Sony allows store access before then :/
i have the update for those maps on my PS3 and now i cant play dead money why that happen.
Too bad it’s released exactly the same date as WItcher 2.
My big question is can any of these DLC’s be played from an end-of-game save file?!!
I just REALLY hope these DLC don’t mess with the core game like Dead Money™ did..
Please do EXTENSIVE testing for these..
hooray! i was hoping news would come soon! and hooray for simultaneous releases and sweet $10 price points!
all the stories sound pretty interesting, too. Old World Blues sound suspiciously like a “take away all your stuff” DLC, though.
the only bad news here is that Honest Hearts comes out a mere week after Brink! i think the Mojave Wasteland will win over the Ark…
also, is Mr. Mummy up there holding a real .45 ACP 1911 there, and not one of those dinky 9mm Mojave ones?
Please make sure the dlc will work prior to release
Guys, this is just ridiculous!
Is it really so hard to port this game (of not so very fresh graphics-engine) to Macintosh platform? Or just the old F3?
I’m tired of booting in crappy Windows OS everytime just to play. I wanna play in Mac OS – where i’m working.
Writing from my Macbook Pro Core i7 (will get new Sandy bridge core i7 Mac this month).
Yeah, that’s definitely a bunch M1911s piled up on the table. Looks like the Burned Man is planning on killing a lot of people.
Nothing personal, but you guys sure took your time. Going off of the F3 time line (where we had content in January, May, June, and August, following an October release), we should have seen at least something else besides DM (which came out back February), by now. In this day an age of DLC I am a bit disappointed. It seems like all games are geared toward it, and as the old saying goes, “Strike it while the iron is still hot”. Oh and great timing on the upcoming DLC. You don’t need to be a Rock star to see that.
Putting something out a week after a games release is one thing, but 1 piece of content in nearly 7 months since release seems ignorant.
P.S. Thanks in advance for not editing my post this time.
So….when is GOTY coming out for this?!
The 9mm in NV is just a Browning Hi-Power, not a 1911. Hopefully the one Mr. Graham up there is holding is the .45 version. Also that armor looks pretty sweet. Also I am happy there will be more DLC next month and the month after. Also, add some weapon mods for the Police Pistol will ya? That gun is my favorite!
Really…May 17th….after all the debacle with the update and leaking of rumors etc. etc.???…yea, well….ahem….Brink anyone, then a little Hunted followed up with some Rage then finally Skyrim which should carry me well into 2012 when dust will have to be knocked off my Mass Effect 3 because I’m cracked out on skyrim for 9 months…then maybe, just MAYBE I might consider purchasing one of these dlcs because if obsidian still has anything to do with them they will be so full of bugs you will be spending all summer hitting them with digital raid anyway…too bad, you woulda had my 10 bucks this week
Yay! Im so excited…. definitely been anticipating this.. @Mike I have also been reading, just waiting.. can’t wait to see what’s in store..
so that is the “burned man” ? come on im going to shoot a .308 on his ugly head if he say that he likes the legion … just say it … and you are dead .
Well i have to be admitting this sounds like very good DLC and im am being very happy to be seeing this and im am being very exited for old world blues cause being a lab rat always yeilds good tech
I was really enjoying FONV until my game became too unstable to play for more than a minute or two at a time. As much as I’d love some new DLC is there any word on PS3 patches?
Actually, the reason for the delay in the DLC was because they wanted to fix the issues with the core game mechanisms first. The DLCs have been done for quite a while, and given the success of Dead Money, fans have been waiting for this forever. That’s why they released the patches to the core game first and then they are getting the DLCs. Does kind of suck though for the wait, hopefully the joyous gaming experience will blur all those moments into the past.
About time (:
Will you be releasing a game disc later on for PS3 that includes the full game + all DLC’s???
Like Fallout 3 GOTY?
I don’t like Fallout, but the “Old World Blues” looks cool, any way its so ignorant to have DLC 7 months after the game cameout.
HOLY SH*T!
Will any of these DLC packs do a “Broken Steel” and extend the game past the ending? Or raise the level cap?
@Ben: Each update will increase the level cap by 5. So if you have all the content, the cap will eventually be 50.
No, they will not allow you to play beyond the main quest.
You guys better have area 51 in the Big Empty!!!
@sorry, the DLCs dont relate to Area 51 either
@gstaff
well you guys should, a lot of people want it. And it would be fun to explore you guys interpretation of it.
Wow, after waiting soooooo long for this already I personally am very annoyed that we have to wait for Sony to cobble the PSN back together so that we can all get this game. May 17th? Why should PC and XBox360 users be forced to wait because of the incompetence of Sony? After being told its coming out and then the date being moved back so much I think I’m going to put the FONV DLCs on very low priority for my purchasing over the next few months.
Out.
Really excited for these new dlcs coming out, really lookin foward to old world and lonesome road!!! ill get all 3, but those 2 are the ones that sound really outthere u get me? THX and MAKE MOREEEEE !!!
yea, it would be cool. no aliens though, except maybe dead ones in big jars, lol.
will there be any way to re-do your perks by the time these are all out?
If PSN is still down when HH is set to be released and has to be pushed back because of it, I will be a very butthurt and angry Xbox gamer. >:[ I have been waiting for so long for these to finally come out.
Will the “Wild Wasteland” trait have any effect on the new DLC?
I’ve been speculating that Victor might play a part in either Old World Blues or The Lonesome Road. Is this true? I’ve already pretty much decided that Victor came from the Big Empty and that Ulysses was somehow able to stop him from helping you fight the Powder Gangers.
will there more dlc’s after the next 3?
im apart of the modding community and i have a few questions.
will there be any weapons that use bullpup style of reloading/ holding (similar to a famas or styr aug) or a pistol grip pump action shotgun? or a p90 style of smg where the magazine reloads on the top of the gun?
