Last week we polled members of The Elder Council on what race/player type they’d like to see next. In a runaway vote, the majority of folks wanted to see a Dunmer thief, and above is the awesome screen the team put together.

I wonder if that’s a daedric dagger. The handle looks daedric but the blade still looks steel.

Awesome, I was planning on playing as a Nord in my first playthrough. Not anymore, Now I’m planning on sticking with tradition and going Dunmer.
Looks absolutely incredible. Exactly how I always imagined the Dunmer would look utilizing current-gen technology. Love how unique and detailed all the races are shaping up to be. Stunning work.

More interesting than the Dunmer imho is the ‘Northern Light’ in the night sky (or aurora borealis).
I wonder if it’s a regular feature of the Skyrim night sky or if it ties in with the return of the dragons (who are said to hail from Aetherius).
A shame really that you have to make it run on 6 year old consoles, really shows in the closeup screens, but I’m sure it’ll nevertheless be game of the year for me.

holy crap….. I usually went with Bosmers to get the magicka boost….but man….. he looks PISSED and that is something i think i need to utilize….. Is it November 11th yet?
the dark elf would have been good enough but we also go to see that the leather armor, and the daggers don’t have to look Nordic I was a bit worried you would be locked into that style of clothing.
Is there a larger version available? I need a new desktop background.

This makes me think of TESV as a direct sequel to Morrowind, as if Oblivion was non-canon or a spin-off of some sorts. This screenshot has that culture that reminds me of Morrowind, unless it’s just Nastalgia kicking in.

Its a great pick and shows off some neat new things but wow… Stinks I cant relay on my fellow fans to vote for the obvious Argonian ~_~ .. I like Dunmer more myself but we have seen the Dunmer in the demo guys .. come on

Ever since the overhaul of http://elderscrolls.com and the creation of the Elder Council Facebook page, I have been very frustrated. Everytime I try to go to the Facebook page, I get re-directed to my Facebook home. I cannot access the fan page, and it makes me angry. That’s why there are only 275k fans…

The Dunmer are described as having ashen grey colored skin with red eyes. They are not blue if you want blue/purplish go play as a Night Elf in WOW.
No, Chairon, that was more an Oblivion restriction. Dunmer with beards abounded in Morrowind, such as Divayth Fyr or Bolvyn Venim.
