We’re pleased to announce that after more than three years of hard work, the team at Bethesda Game Studios has completed over 20 versions of Skyrim — across multiple platforms, languages, and countries. That’s right, Skyrim is officially gold!
The team celebrated last night with sweet golden mead brewed by Kurt Kuhlmann, Ryan Jenkins, and Shane Liesegang.

well done!
Wait…the game went gold….ONE WEEK BEFORE LAUNCH!? Oh Dear, get those discs pressed! quickly!
π It just begs the question… how big of a Steam update are those of us who are installing the game from disc going to have to download?
Damn, that’s a VERY good point.
Better question is, if there’s a massive steam update how much sooner are us 360 players in Australia gonna be playing on Friday (our Friday that is)? A lot sooner ;P
Congratulations! Skyrim is my most anticipated game of the year and from what I’ve heard, it’s definitely game of the year material.
I’m fairly certain drinking mean from a styrofoam cup is a blasphemy in at least one religion.
Congrats anyway guys! It’s all uphill from here!
Mead…..not mean……yeah
Mead is everlasting and a short rest in such a vessel won’t harm it. Though drinking it from an ox horn is one of the best ways of enjoying this elixir of life.
Congrats Bethesda
There needs to be someone drunk at that party in the BOS costume.
Congrats! Can’t wait. My son and I are going to have to flip a coin over who gets to play 1st!
The awkward moment when you guys flip the coin and your son wins, you push him away, steal the xbox, and go live with your friends for a few days.
Great guys! Take a Nice brake and Strive to go gold many times over!
I’ve been stocking up on drinks for when Skyrim finally reaches my house. The last year has flown by, and I have never been more excited for a video game since Oblivion.
I’ve already got myself a bottle of Mead for launch. Woo! And congrats Bethesda!
Fantastic! I cannot wait to have countless hours of fun in the world you all have created.
How awesome was the mead? π
Congrats on going gold!
As already noted on your FB page. these pictures made me thirsty so i went and pored me a glass of my favorite bottle of mead. Made on an original Nordic recipe of course π
Besides it’s J-day here in DK (release of christmas beers) so i had one of those too π
Oh and congratulation on going gold. I’m looking foward to playing this next friday.
Now compete against us in CD in some good old games of TF2!
congrats – and please try pottery mugs or even hollowed cowhorns (maybe from rpgcon 2012) instead of styrofoam for your next gold celebration O.o π
Congrats guys! You deserve it!
I am eagerly waiting for my copy of Skyrim to arrive next Friday!
Congrats to the best game developers out there. I am so pumped for this game, it is unreal.
That’s is beyond amazing! I totally want some!!!!!!
Congrats guys!
Congratulations Bethesda! The TES fans here know and realize you’ve been working hard for the past few years to make a game that we could all be in awe of. Going gold is well deserved. Keep making an ’em this good and I promise I’ll keep playing ’em. Cheers! Here’s to Skyrim, Fallout 4 and whatever else comes next π
now that’s an idea
/me votes for Hawaii as FO 4 setting π
Hey! Someone bought a Desmond hoody! Is he allowed to do that, can he buy ubisoft clothes and wear them around the office? Isn’t that grounds for courts martial?
Posting drunken photos of yourself on the internet?
Don’t let your boss see these! D:
No worries – I bet Odin and Freya currently fill Loki up with mead and cider for the next 7 weeks – he will surely not recover from the hangover until january and we’ll get a trouble-free Skyrim launch π
Praise the Daedra! Congratulations Bethesda and may SKYRIM bring you much riches in many forms. Thank you for the joy you are about to bestow upon us all.
Hail Bethesda! They give us the emotional overflow of never ending joy.
Congratulations Bethesda!
Drunk in polestyrine cups ><
Nice to see that those with a dream job are just a susceptible to rabid alcoholism as the rest of us. Congrats on the impending release people & 5 more sleeps to go is still too long to wait. Skeever bastards….. why not 7/11/11?
I do believe that I’ll honor Sanguine by celebrating the release of Skyrim with a horn-full of mead myself! I fully intend to have some tasty mead once I sit down at home and begin playing through the first time. 11/11/11 cannot come fast enough!!
Wow… Are you going to be able to produce enough copies? A week before release is quite tight, and the game is going to sell quite well.
CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :))))))))))))))))))))))))
You Did Magic.
A local retailer here in Germany just posted on Facebook that they are expecting to ship copies of the game on 11/09/11. Just-in-time logistics, anyone?
I’m really looking forward to this game. I expect it to severely improve my winter. π
We get it at 2 am the night between thursday and friday here in DK. If I know steam right, it’s going to be more like 3 am. Well I guess I’m going to set it on DL and then shut down the pc when I go to uni next morning, and then play when I get home
Well done Bethesda. I can’t wait to delve into your amazing creation. Thank you for creating these games with the most beautiful interactive worlds. Your tremendous amount of work is appreciated.
Gosh, i was getting a little worried here… but now i will settle down and wait… and when i finaly get it… ”Die, mudcrab!”
