Modders will also want to see Gamespot’s favorite five Skyrim Workshop mods from last week. In the video, they include the following mods:

How do you top exploding chickens? Pretty tough, but you can find out about attacking rabbits in a feature on Wired. Nice work, Patty Jack!

  1. I’m sorry but this format is just miserable. Todd Howard comes on your show and you ask him like three irrelevant questions? -.-“

  2. Need some new content for us console users cant wait big fan of skyrim and bethesda u guys make some sick games any info on a dlcs or expansion packs or any info on wen we can have info ;-)

  3. It would be amazing if you could build this into the game, kinda like LittleBigPlanet, so that console players could mod the game and share their creations.
I have been having a lot of fun with the CK so far, the Randy Savage mod make me laugh so hard.

    • Modding is not some simple little novelty for Beth games. The CK is the same tool they used to make the game.

Not even BGS seems to understand just how complex modding their own games are, considering the issues with Steam Workshop. No multi-module installation options (or even module-less mods that are replacers). SKSEphobia. No keyword search. Lack of a zero-tolerance policy against plagiarism and theft of content. It’s got a long way to go before it’s even close to how well Nexus caters to the modders.

  4. Im so glad todd mentioned that little bit about DLC, iv been waiting for news and hearing that they will spend more time and effort in their DLC makes me happy :)

  5. I love Skyrim! but now, with mod community in action, guys! you are fantastic! the mod community is just amazing, my game now have more life than ever. The CK is great, without a mouse, needing scripting, drag and drop, please console guys! relax!! console are toys, not a workstation. Bethesda done a fantastic job! patience with the tech side, skyrim is big, and now is colossal.

    • Yeah, using the Creation Kit (love these tolls by the way – especially the improvements to the dialogue editor) on a console would probably be about as easy as using Photoshop on a console. That is to say you absolutely need a keyboard and mouse or it would be an exercise in futility.

  6. I wish people would stop sounding so surprised that they gave us the creation kit. Us PC players have had the Construction Set in every Bethesda game since Morrowind. The only difference is the Skyrim community is HUGE compared to when Morrowind and Oblivion were released. I guess that’s why the CK gets so much recognition.

P.S Console guys, you’re not getting a CK or custom mods, sorry to say. Bethesda would like to do that, but hardware limitations and Sony and Microsoft have made it pretty much impossible. By a gaming PC and join the fun :P

  7. Why is it with these top 5 / top 10 etc lists, half of them are usually pointless mods that are a fun gimmick for about 5 minutes but ultimately pointless…. exploding chickens, killing with a spoon, yeah really useful there.

  8. Bethesda acquired Arkane Studios right? Why do not they implement the system of magic as Arx Fatalis where you can draw the simbols of magic? That would be so cool and make even more Skyrim epic epic!

    • Because ArKane studios had a different dev-team that was based in Lyons France, plus it’s a completely different engine altogether. Plus the engine used is over 10 years old…
