Dishonored arrives October 9th

In a press release this morning, we announced that Dishonored, the supernatural assassin action game under development at Arkane Studios, will be available for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and Games for Windows in North America on October 9th, 2012 and throughout Europe on October 12th, 2012.

  1. Wow! Bethesda doing a headline about a game and using a PS3 box art cover for the image!?!? I thought you usually try to screw us PS3 fans over with your lack of support for your PS3 fans.

Besides that though, I might pick up the game. Need to see more solid gameplay though before I decide.

    • That’s pretty standard with most of our titles. In Europe, games typically release on Friday (and Thursday in Australia).

Skyrim was an exception because it had a worldwide Friday date.

  2. Seriously, what’s up with those stupid subtitles for German versions of media D: ? I see that nonsense being done frequently with everything released here, be it books, movies or games. The marketer who came up with that really deserves to be punched in the balls (resp. ovaries).

    • It’s not for Games for Windows LIVE, it’s just a game made to run on Windows operating system. Skyrim had the same thing on it, and it was exclusive to Steam.

  3. Cannot wait for this game, I just hope it will be polished and without bugs. If more time is necessary, please give it that, instead of releasing it prematurely.

Also, is the PC version steamworks like Skyrim was? I am glad it is not using GFWL.

  4. Fantastic looking cover reminding me of the Terminator and the 8 Man Out anime movie. Congratulations on the release date on whats looks to be a pre-order purchase.

  5. Good god
Please tell me this isnt just going to be released for GFWL. If it is, I will not be buying it. Why the hell cant devolpers understand that GFWL is a buggy, horrible and harsh DRM. I have lost over $300 games because of accusitions which I did not do, and they never even replyed to my emails.

    • Oh, thank god. That’s the second time you’ve posted early box art with the GFWL logo on it. Quit toying with my emotions like that.

      • That’s Games for Windows packaging. While it looks similar to Games for Windows LIVE packaging, it’s not the same.

Take a look at the packaging for Dishonored or Skyrim and compare it with the packaging for Fallout 3. You can see where one says “LIVE” and the other doesn’t.

  6. Can’t way to see some more gameplay footage of Dishonored. If it continues to look and play as awesome as Arkane are claiming, I’ll be pre-ordering on Steam asap.
