Choose your own adventure with new Dishonored gameplay videos

Dishonored’s gameplay provides plenty of choice to the player, and today we’ve released two videos that demonstrate just that.

Narrated by co-creative directors Raphael Colantonio and Harvey Smith, the video above demonstrates a direct, action-heavy playthrough of the game’s Golden Cat mission. Meanwhile, the video below demonstrates a stealth playthrough that offers a drastically different experience for the player.

    • The best answer to the silence of id software, is do not buy the Doom 4 (another Rage in technology and time) which already has become a truly Doom Nukem 4Ever.

QuakeCon 2012 is out of my plans, i need respect my wallet!

And for the fanboys who always say “they need your support” come on! those guys have all money possible to make another generic and legendary FPS, with less problems… After two decades of Doom, Quake, etc.. and after make a deal with the Zenimax, something around 150 millions, come on! money is not a issue for sure.

  1. I am a huge Bethesda fan, but this looks terrible. Maybe you guys can pull it off, I don’t know. But this current video shows a game with terrible balancing, terrible graphics, terrible sound, and lifeless characters. Please improve this, if not this could be Bethesda’s worst game ever made. It would be acceptable 10-15 years ago, but in 2012 this game is absolutely unacceptable.

      • That explains a lot. So they are producing it? It still appears as though they must have input into the direction if they have money into it.

    • Sorry Davidusa94, but you can’t expect to be taken seriously when you make such exaggerated comparisons. I’ve been around 10-15 years ago, I was old enough to be with my senses and know that such a game was impossible to exist back then.

And you can’t just trash everything that makes this game great, and then want it to be improved. This would be starting over for the developers.

If you’re not actually trolling I think I get what you mean though – the game does not fit your, be it, refined taste…

    • Ever think it’s a video from the console version and also a demo as well. Seriously of all the things to complain about and graphics is the big one. Game can look amazing and play like crap. I’d rather have it the other way around and so will most to all other players that don’t get a boner from super ultra graphics.

  2. “That’s not exactly true. The developer, Arkane Studios, is one of our internal development studios (along with Bethesda Game Studios, id Software, MachineGames, Zenimax Online Studios, and Tango Gameworks).”

So…. the company known as Bethesda is not developing it as he said?

-really wants to know how what the relationship between a publisher and studio is cause is trying to set up an Indie company-

  3. I agree with Axel – this looks like an incredible game. Really slick presentation, and my kind of gameplay. I was waiting for Thief 4 but this should scratch the itch.

  4. I’m not convinced about mixing stealth with abusable superpowers (blinking instead of slowly sneaking around looked really cheap and took out the entire tension from the scene) but maybe it’s just a demo thing. Also, please, please make the FOV adjustable in the PC version – watching the videos already gave me a headache.

Other than that, it looks absolutely fantastic. Easily the game I’m looking forward to the most this year.

  5. Hrm, looks pretty cool I guess.

Bethesda Softworks usually has a lot of trouble with games it publishes that aren’t make by its flagship studio Bethesda Game Studios (Wet, The Hunted, Rage, Rogue Warrior, to name a few).

This got a lot of praise and hype coming out of E3 so maybe it can turn the table on that reputation. A Thief-meets-Bioshock feel is a pretty good start.

Also, any plans of showing any of the other Behind-Closed-Doors presentations to the public? ESO perhaps? Hrrrm?
