Visit ElderScrolls.com to read the latest Skyrim developer focusing on Hearthfire’s development. Here’s an excerpt:
With Skyrim’s latest game add-on, players can build their own home from the ground up. Beginning with a small, one room cabin in The Pale, Falkreath, or Hjaalmarch, players can eventually construct a fully functioning home with more features than you could possibly expect.
In many ways, this house-building process is analogous to the evolution of Hearthfire’s development.
Like Dawnguard, Hearthfire’s inception came out of Bethesda Game Studios’ first-ever “Game Jam”, a weeklong exercise where members of the team shared in-game ideas for expanding Skyrim.
Help reduce Dunwall’s rat plague with our new iPhone app, Dishonored: Rat Assassin — available today on the iTunes App Store. Featuring classic “slice and dice” gameplay, as well as weapons and abilities from this Fall’s game, Rat Assassin is 100% free to download.
Want to play on iPad? An iPad-specific version will be available in the near future.
Tomorrow morning, we’ll be off to Seattle to prepare for one of our favorite events of the year, PAX Prime! This year marks our fifth year at the event, and as always, we’ve got some great stuff in store.
Those with passes to the show (the event is already sold out) will want to visit our booth to play both Dishonored and DOOM 3 BFG Edition. While you’re there, make sure to pick up some cool Bethesda swag. Our booth is open Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 10 AM – 6 PM.
We’re also hosting a Dishonored community event on both Friday and Saturday evening in conjunction with the guys from iam8bit that you won’t want to miss. Both nights we’ll be at the Stimson-Green Mansion — just minutes away from the convention center from 7.30pm-11.30pm. We’ll be serving food and drinks, giving away prizes, and more. You’ll also have your first chance to play Dishonored’s Boyle Party mission, which PC Gamer’s Tom Francis recently declared, “… one of the best missions I’ve played in any game.”
Interested in attending? Look for folks handing out invitations – both at our booth and outside the convention center. You’ll need one to get in. And on both nights, the event is first-come, first-serve.
With Skyrim’s newest game add-on, Hearthfire, you can purchase land and build your own home from the ground up – from a simple one-room cottage to a sprawling compound complete with an armory, alchemy laboratory, stable, garden, and more. Use all-new tools like the drafting table and carpenter’s workbench to transform quarried stone, clay, and sawn logs into structures and furnishings. Even transform your house into a home by adopting children.
Hearthfire releases on Xbox LIVE next week (September 4th) for 400 Microsoft Points.

PAX Prime kicks off this week, and for many, it will be the first chance to play Dishonored. But what about folks wanting to play in Europe?
Fear not, as you’ll be able to play both Dishonored and DOOM 3 BFG Edition at this year’s Eurogamer Expo!
This year’s event runs September 27-30 at London’s Earls Court. As has been the case in previous years, we expect the 50,000+ person event to sell out. If you’re interested in attending, purchase your tickets soon.
