  1. I was going to buy, this game, but not anymore. Not until we , PS3 players, get what we deserve, and that is Dawnguard and Hearthfire for the PS3.
I`m not going to make the same mistake again with a game that i`m not sure it will be , at least, OK.

    • You do know Arkane Studios has absolutely nothing to do with Skyrim, Dawnguard or Hearthfire? Bethesda’s just the publisher here, you’re punishing the wrong devs.

      • Dishonored on PS3 isn’t looking good. For one thing the same kind of cover up campaign used to keep Skyrim out of the journalist and public eye is going on with this game. Bethesda has been lying when they say the PS3 version is at the conventions and expos, I wonder why? Is it because like Skyrim the games performance is horrendous like Skyrim? Did Arkane learn how to develop on PS3 from Bethesda? Or I should say didn’t learn how to develop on PS3 because Bethesda has proven with game after game that they can’t. PS3 players are right to boycott Dishonored, but not only over Skyrim DLC but for the way they’ve treated PS3 customers over the last 10 months. Which hasn’t been very good at all.

        • Doesn’t know anything, still talks. At every game show there was a PS3 version for everyone to play. There are at least two PS3 centered sites that have done a preview and have praised it for being better than the Xbox version. Learn that a publisher has nothing to do with the development process. Oh and also, there were separate teams for each platform, as should be the case. So Dishonored will be fine on PS3, stop bringing Skyrim into this argument.

  2. After all the Skyrim crap is Bethesda really trying to still make money off of PS3 users?

I really feel sorry for Arkane studios, but I am not going to buy anything else with the Bethesda name on it until they finally admit their mistakes and fix them. Oblivion, Fallout 3, Fallout: New Vegas, and now Skyrim sit broken on my shelf collecting dust.

Some would say I’m to blame for not learning my lesson after Fallout 3, but I trusted the lying scum when they said they fixed the issues they had programming for the PS3. I’ve finally learned not to trust Bethesda until I see it with my own eyes, on the games I own, that they have indeed fixed their broken games.

Screw off Bethesda if you think you are getting any more of my money.

    • Wait.

“I am not going to buy anything else with the Bethesda name on it until they finally admit their mistakes and fix them.”

“I’ve finally learned not to trust Bethesda until I see it with my own eyes, on the games I own.”

Those two statements don’t fit together. They contradict each other.

  3. I too am withholding funds from anything Bethesda related until PS3 Skyrim gets DLC. C’mon Beth, communicate with your customers. Give us a firm yes or no and a date. Is that asking too much?

  4. I agree, right devs or not, I won’t be buying anything with Bethesda’s name on it until I hear good PS3 feedback or until it hits the bargain bin (or both). I love playing Skyrim, but I paid a premium to be a beta tester. My game is still buggy and I fear that I’ll never see any of the DLC that they develop for it. Hell yeah, I hold a grudge! ;)

  5. I didn’t think i’d ever see a PS3-only post on this blog…

I’m still not sure about buying Dishonored though since although it’s being made by Arkane Studios it still has Bethesda’s name on it and i still remember the lag issues that Fallout 3, Fallout: New Vegas and Skyrim had, the lag issues on the first two were never fixed, and i guess we’ll have to wait and see if Bethesda fix the lag issues on the PS3 version of Skyrim.

Then again, Arkane aren’t Bethesda so lets all hope that they’re better at making games for the PS3 than Bethesda are.

  6. dear god you ppl really don’t look at things do you yes Bethesda name is on the game but they did not make it stop blaming a company for a game they did not make just because skyrim was a mess up for ps3 users and the other games that ppl keep naming it is like blaming a little kid for just looking at you but not doing anything to make you made but yet if the little kid looks at you it makes you mad stop blaming ppl for something they did not do and just be happy

Sorry miss spelled my name on here

  7. So, with the release of Dishonored and the impending release of Fallout 4, what’s the over/under on how long it is before all of Bethesda’s programmers are “working on other projects” and just up and leave Skyrim a broken mess?

  8. Well then, ARKANE STUDIOS™ will have a HARD LESSON COMING (on the release day)
The fact is, that me (a PS3™) gamer WILL NOT be buying ANY GAME from Bethesda™ or w/ Bethesda™ name on it UNTIL DAWNGUARD OR A DLC is released for SKYRIM®. Plain and simple. And ALOT of other PS3™gamers share my feelings as well. I just feel sorry for ARKANE STUDIOS™. They will be hit HARD (for the HUGE DROP of sales from PS3™ users). They will DEFINITELY have learned their lesson with the next game they release. Don’t get me wrong… The moneyWILL BE THERE. I will personally purchase the game DISHONORED®… Just not until they release DAWNGUARD®.
Good luck in the future to ARKANE STUDIOS™.

    • Interesting. I thought the same thing when Rage failed at launch, particularly on PC. Is all right, Dishonored is a very well done product, is not Bethesda or id software.. damn, Skyrim is a mess, but runs better than Rage.. that piece of legend.

  9. “Dishonored’s development has no impact on Bethesda Game Studios’ current and future projects. Dishonored is developed by another one of our studios, Arkane Studios.

Reading Pete Hines tweets reveals he’s spending a lot of time on Dishonered.

So “William” from another post, we are doing some research, like for instance, you follow Dishonered on your twitter account. Are you biased?

Bethesda has mishandled the PS3 customers concerns and it will have an effect my game buying decisions going forward. Why is that so hard for people to understand? Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me. I’m no fool.

    • Pete Hines is the marketing guy, he needs to play all games inside the company structure (Bethesda, Zenimax, id, Arkane) because he is the head of the marketing team = ads, teasers, websites, posters, travel to promoting the game, e3 and so on.

    • Pete Hines does not work at Bethesda Game Studios. He’s head of Marketing and PR at Bethesda Softworks, which publishes all the games by their sister companies (id Software, Arkane Studios, Bethesda Game Studios, Zenimax Online Studios, and whatever MachineGames and Tango Gameworks are working on). Nobody at BGS has worked at all on Dishonored, RAGE, DOOM4, etc.

  10. The game looks good and moves fluently from what we have seen on youtube and other sources, but it’s only X360 footage everywhere. Don’t leave us PS3 players in the dark one more time Bethesda, at least let us see how the game plays on our system. Sure, it’s made by Arkane Studios, who apparently only has Arx Fatalis as previos project. Compared to Bethesda who has some PS3 games already made, Arkane has NONE! We can’t really know how it will be on PS3, and for some reason we don’t get to see it either, probably not until we have bought it and started it for the first time at home. Bethesda, atleast give us ONE PS3 gameplay video. Please.

    • As I’ve said previously the Bethesda cover up campaign has begun again. Like Skyrim, Bethesda won’t allow the journalists and public to see the PS3 version of the game. This is not a good sign, this game isn’t running on the Lamebryo(Gamebryo) engine so why does Bethesda feel the need to cover up the PS3 version? To me it looks like history is reapeating itself once again, the PS3 version of Dishonored must perform poorly on the PS3 just like Skyrim. Otherwise why would Bethesda cover up this game as well?

      • The Creation Engine is a very tweaked Gamebryo. Thousands of bugs are very similar to Fallout 3 and Oblivion.. for me is all about a REdesign of the layouts and improve the poligonal count.

  11. Trolls are fantastic, they know everything! I marvel at the conspiracies here.. they discover all! they are capable to see the source code of the Creation Engine!

  12. Gstaff i think you need to really lay it down for some of the ppl that post things on here because no matter what anyone tells them they still think that Bethesda had a hand in making a games that was made by a different company i think that alot of ppl on here are to slow to understand what everyone is trying to tell them Arkane Studios is not Bethesda it is nothing like Bethesda it is a hole different thing

  13. Now here is a contradiction-

“Dishonored’s development has no impact on Bethesda Game Studios’ current and future projects. Dishonored is developed by another one of our studios, Arkane Studios.

by gstaff on Sep 19, 2012 at 12:16 pm”

Okay, then explain the next post I found on another thread you started today.

“I’d stick with official sources for release dates. Pretty unlikely we’d release something the same week as Dishonored.

by gstaff on Sep 21, 2012 at 9:46 am”

It seems like Dishonered is affecting Bethsda’s Skyrim support after all. Just give us PS3 users a clear answer and we will quit posting in these threads. Deal?

Also, if Pete Hines has nothing to do with DLC development, maybe he should not comment on it. His remarks have thrown more gas on this fire than the rest of Bethesda’s staff combined.

    • Is that what you got from that? You completely missed what gstaff was trying to say. What he meant was it is highly unlikely that they’d release Hearthfire on the PC the same week as Dishonored. As a lot of people have stated already, Dishonored was made by Arkane Studios not Bethesda itself.

    • Pete doesn’t work at Bethesda Game Studios. He works at Bethesda Softworks, which handles the marketing and distribution for all the games developed by their sister companies, Arkane, BGS and id. Nobody at BGS worked on Dishonored, and nobody at Arkane worked on Skyrim.

Publishers usually don’t release two different games during the same week. Not a conspiracy, simply common sense.

Shades of gray, highly unlikly from a “company insider” is the same as not going to happen. That’s where a proper Marketing and Public Relations (Pete Hines?) guy comes in.

    • Can’t argue with you there. PR people are usually the ass-end of companies, and in that sense Pete Hines is a “proper” PR-guy. My previous comment is just me being optimistic. I’ll probably wait a few weeks and see if Dishonored is worth my money. But hey, it’s a fitting Bethesda release considering that they’ve been dishonored in the eyes of the PS3 community.
