Reader Comments

    • Yeah cause that’s totally a bug – get better armor, more health and/or the lord sign if you have trouble with getting killed.

    • I do believe that is just cause if your a mage or a char with low health and the monster or dude your fighting does so much damage he can insta kill you

    • I’m still waiting on then to fix the nighting gale blade so even after getting it at max stats when I first get it to allow me to improve it on a grindstone

  1. So basically the ability to redistribute perk points in Dragonborn is partly irrelevant now? Oh and Bethesda, please don’t get rid of the Ohgma Infinium glitch. Some players relied on that and it helped with the PS3 saves.

    • Joel,I am glad they’re removing that glitch. I’m a PS3 player, and I find that the removal of cheats makes the game better. wouldn’t you agree that anyone who relies on that glitch should turn the difficulty down? Skyrim isn’t Skyrim if you’re not working for your level ups, Though I will admit it’s relativly easy to level up in Skyrim.

      • i think that if i played the game 4 times through and am now bored.. it is fun to do the glitch and have a different character specific to something. and now with the update coming out soon, we can max out the characters and be super strong.. which yes is stupid but also being as powerful as i am now on max difficulty is still really hard, so i would like them to keep it!

        • really? yeah im sure you’re overly powerful at master difficulty. I have 36% enchanting potions, and 157% smithing potions, my weapons all have a minimum of 700 damage and it’s still not THAT easy on master. so im pretty sure you’re lying.( those are the max that you can go with those potions)

          • Serious? my Weapons and armor were weaker than yours but my mace and shield warrior could dominate everything on master difficulty, my newest character I’ve had to set myself rules to what skills and equipment I can use. he can only put perks into 1 handed, block and light armor. now im seeing the difficulty.

          • yeah right on master my weapons only do about 650 damagage but with an aromor rating of 2260 itake no damage if your having a hard time take it down it takes me 2-3 hits to kill enemies.

          • You can also make restoration potions, they effect enchantments on armour as well, allowing you to enchant your armour with fortify alchemy, then drink the potion you make, then make an even more powerful potion. Then just make a potion for smithing or enchanting, you can increase it until you get to more than the stored values allow.

          • The max that you can go with potion is only limited by what the game can handle before crashing. Remember that you can infinitely recurse Fortify Alchemy enchantment with Fortify Enchantment potion to get absurdly high values for both Alchemy and Enchantment.

          • i have a lvl 38 assassin with deadric weapons that arent too highly smithed but still legendary, with the potions i poisons available master has become too easy. so if your weapons do 700 and it isnt too easy you suck,my bow only does around 255 depending on the gear i have on.

      • I agree, glitches make the game annoying and at time unplayable. You don’t know how long it took me to play through “Waking Nightmares” because of that damn glitch.

    • The Ohgma glitch is not like backwards flying dragons and quest items getting stuck in your inventory. It does not affect the game unless you go out of your way to utilize it.

Personally, after playing through Skyrim four times, I like having the option to build a specific character concept, almost right from the start. It’s one of the few crazy things that console players can do, since we don’t have mods or console commands.

Exploring is fun. Questing is fun. Looting is fun. Leveling is tedious and often leaves you with an uneven skill set. That Legendary Dragon outside doesn’t care if half my levels come from Lockpicking and Speechcraft.

      • agreed it is a way for people to create new character builds easily, or for people like me who play the game legitimate a few times but then realize that buy the time u reach max level or a level where ur abilities start to get interesting there is really nothing left to do or no main quest lines. so i started a new char spent 10hrs(not in game) planning him out and then became level 81 15hrs into the game so i could spend the next 200hrs and counting of the game using my stronger more fun abilities on everything but at the same time playing on master so i was not overpowered and the game was and still is so interesting.

it is a shortcut for people that are more into fast paced games to have fun because we all know TES games start off slow.

        • –> If we talk for the single player game <—
I do have to say that Ohgma "Infinium glitch" it is not a cheat. If you want to cheat you just use a cheat for GOD mode, you dont bother your time to create a character and passing many hours for studying how you will advance as many skills you can. Ohgma gives you the ability and the freedom in a single player game to test different ways. After about 1.100 hours in skyrim I do believe that Ohgma is player friendly and I still haven't used it to just level a character. Besides who tells to anyone, to use or not a glitch ? Isn't anyones freedom in a sinle player game what to do? Never could understand how some people try to impose their believes. wow !!! I personally hope that the 1.9 patch will be friendly for all this mods which have made the game from great to greater and all these moders who have helped this game deserve Congratulations !!!!

        • ^This.

Removal of the Ohgma glitch is just stupid. PC players can edit their level quickly with console commands. Why not remove console commands on the PC? Simple fact is after 4 profiles all of with were built up to 13-17MB Ive had enough with leveling. Leave the Ohgma fix out of the console title updates.

          • Glitches are just that Glitches, unintended errors that can be exploited or make the game run as not intended (eg backwards flying dragons, which did happen to PC players as well, I know, I was one of them)
the Console is not a players tool, it is needed however for some of us who make mods to debug the mod and make it run with a Vanilla Edition of Skyrim. that people use it for cheating is a reflection on that Gamers abilities and Desires to play the game as the Publisher/Maker intended.
shutting off the console on PC editions will not change a cheat from being a cheat. but will cripple a key aspect of the PC versions, the Modding Community which is a vital aspect of future game developments many of the successful games that came after the original have incorporated ideas created by Modders (and with some companies they even gave credit to them)
Bethesda would be silly to hinder the Modders, since new idea’s can sourced from them for the next game or for the next patch.

          • NEVER disable the console in a bethesda game. I love these games, truly I do, but there are so many times when a crippling bug crops up in a quest or a questline and you need the console to help it along. It’s not just a way to cheat, it’s also a way to deal with bugs that can otherwise break the game.

          • That is not true actually, I am a pc gamer and if did increase your level you wouldn’t get the perks. stop being bitches and complaining that PC gamers can do this and that, PC is totally different from consoles. If they removed console commands from the PC you wouldn’t be able to categorize your save games, change your FOV and many things that we rely on in order to play well, and yeah we do have mods to make the game better. do you wan’t to ban those too just because your consoles don’t have them?

          • So then that makes it okay to take away the Ogmha Infinium glitch? Really, it shouldn’t be taken out because it doesn’t hurt anyone. The only glitches that should be taken out are the harmful ones.

        • Personally Taking out The Ohgma Glitch is stupid. It’s Useful Like The dragon head stone glitch in Dark souls for making new characters for people who have already beaten the game & If new players want to rob themselves of a great game by utilizing it thats there fault & It’s there loss there’s no Multiplayer so there’s no using it to overpower their character as an excuse & Besides that you can’t get the Ohgma book right off the start anyways Personally it’s stupid to take it out if players want to Boost their characters using the glitch Then they actively wanted to do that & Besides If people are complaining about new players using it then they should just put a lock on it where you have to have Ether a completed save Or using a trophy as a lock for it then all new saves will be able to utilize the glitch Other than that it will take the replayability out of the game For me Because I’ve beat the game i Don’t want to spend 100 plus hours grinding To get up to a lvl so I can use spells or go through all of the main quests With max stats & Have fun it’s Like dark souls I beat the game then learned about glitches & Used it to make a Few character builds I can still do this anyways by deleting the patches on my console Or just starting a new account & doing it that way although it’s a little annoying but other than that glitches like these Shouldn’t really get taken out they should get at most a lock so People who have beaten the game can use them if they wish cause then they can have more fun & Ultimately will recommend the product more increasing revenue For Companys that make these games.

        • I agree that the Ohgma glitch should be left alone. If for no other reason than the fact that some of us have to work 40+ hours a week and have family that we spend time with, so we don’t even have a few hours a day to play. It gives guys like me, who LOVE the Elder Scrolls series but have a life load of responsibilities, a chance to experience a level of the game that would normally take us about a year to achieve otherwise.

    • I’m cool with that glitch, at least it doesn’t COMPLETELY stop and kill your progress in the game like the falling to your death glitch after getting the Dawnbreaker sword. Way to go Bethesda, let’s not fix that glitch, let’s put guards in the palace of the kings upper floors instead.

    • No because the ability and dragonborn doesn’t reset your skill to 15.Also Joel they’ve tried to remove the glitch before but someone always found a new way to do it. Used to be we could use any old container. Then we could duplicate the book on a shelf(we still can by the way).

    • I totally agree! Please don’t remove the Ohgma Infinium glitch from the console versions! After finishing the game it is really nice to be able to start over again all levelled up from the beginning.

    • I think the answer is that it was a bug, that was never intended, wasn’t part of the gameplay, and allowed you to cheat your way to higher skills, just like the speech trick with Ungrien. I suspect most people would never find it by accident on their own, without looking at a guide or wiki, and the game certainly isn’t broken in any way without it.

Sooner or later any glitch or loophole like this is likely to disappear with a new update, whether by accident or by a deliberate fix. Interestingly, according to the UESP wiki, both the Oghma and the Ungrien tricks have been fixed in the Unofficial Skyrim Patch on the PC version.

Inevitably some people will be unhappy with this, but for others it removes the temptation to break the immersion by “cheating”.

But this is a beta after all, so I suppose if enough people complain, Bethesda might reinstate it!

      • Hmm… on one hand… we have people who use the Oghma Infinium glitch saying to keep it… on the other hand we got people with no lives saying to remove it. Personally it’s none of my damn business if someone else uses cheats and glitches on a SINGLE player game. Too many people with no lives all up in someone else’s business IMHO. I mean… if you don’t like the glitch, don’t use it. PROBLEM SOLVED!!! Don’t go telling other people how to play. I could see if people were running cheats on a MULTIPLAYER game like Black Ops… OH WAIT, THEY DO!!! Removing this glitch from is only gonna piss off more customers… oh silly me… I almost forgot that Bethesda ENJOYS pissing off their customers… they did hire a douche like Pete Hines

      • For a well-documented bug, it’s never happened to me either. The only bugs I’ve found that invoved the kill cam are these:

1: The enemy not dying yet the Kill Cam still activates.
2: The Archery Kill Cam causes the arrow to hit the floor, though you had a clear LOS to the enemy.
3: Not really a bug, but it activates even when you’re being attacked by a group and there’s still enemies around to hit you regardless.
4: Also not a bug, but I want an option to turn them the hell OFF.

General Cam bug: It STILL switches around the 3rd Person Viwepoint at random times. This is offputting beyond belief.

        • Never happened to me (yet) the only glitches I have seen has been relating to Dragons.
Flying Backwards, not absorbing the souls when slain.
that was only when playing the Original game, before any DLC’s and before the 1.5 patch.
          thanks for the warning though

      • I’ve never had it happen to me but I kinda like the idea of being able to insta kill through a kill cam if you’re sneaking and lucky, kinda makes sense too since it is possible to kill people wearing armor by sneaking behind them and knifing their throat :L still…

  2. GStaff

Hello I was wondering if you guys will ever fix the glitch where collette doesn’t sell you the guardian circle spell tome.

  3. If you kill a dragon in cleared dragon lair, it won’t have a soul to absorb. Please, fix this.
Will there be any more dlc for skyrim?

          • I thought your post only asked about PS3 and Xbox 360? But anyway, since the beta trial’s on the PC, I’m sure the final 1.9 release will be on Steam at the same time as the consoles, or even before (especially if Sony take their time).

Oh, and gstaff only said “planned” for release later this month, so if people find a lot of problems that need fixing, it could be delayed.

I’m just trying not to get my hopes up too much – still looking forward to it! :)

          • Yes, you are absolutely correct. But in my opinion, there is no urgent need for it now. My game has never run so smoothly and I’ve finished all DLCs. I can’t say I am that anxious for the new patch. But I surely want to try it when it is released xD

  4. Please Bethesda, can you fix the Altmer first view height?

I appreciate the bug fixes though, but it bugs me to no end that other races look DOWN at my Altmer characters in first view.

  5. Just wondering if there’s any plans on allowing horses to be stabled so your horse stops fast travelling with you and Shadowmere and Frost stop running into any enemy camp and getting killed.

      • Well, not quite nothing – if you buy a horse then it lives in the stable, and you can use that horse, but I agree it would be better if other horses like Frost could be stabled. Mind you, since it rains inside the stable I’m not sure how much good it is!
As it is, you can ride other horses into the stable, but you can only dismount them outside. Sadly my Frost got toasted by a dragon a while back so it’s not really a problem :(

        • yea, thats what irritates me is Frost constantly getting killed, with Shadowmere it’s not so much him dying but getting in the way or screwing up sneak kills.

    • I’d really like to be able to stable my horse too. btw – I found that if I totally ignore my (purchased) horse when he arrives with me on a fast travel that he is unaffected by the game (even a dragon attack practically on top of him and he was completely unscathed).

  6. Hi Bethesda. As I’ve mentioned in the 1.8 thread, I’m worried that part of the “General memory and stability improvements” in 1.8 was actually a DOWNgrading of the graphics on PS3(static trees, less distance detail, etc.) so that the extra load of the DLCs wouldn’t make it totally unplayable. As it is, the frame rate still seems to drop more often than in 1.7 :(

Can you assure us that the same “General memory and stability improvements” mentioned in 1.9 won’t mean even poorer graphics on the PS3 version, to compensate for the fixes and enhancements? Of course, if I’m wrong about the reason for the graphics issues I’ve experienced, or I’ve just imagined it, I’m happy to be corrected! :)

    • I’ve been running the beta and I realize that we are not running the same system, but I noticed both an increase in the quality of graphics and, more importantly, a much better management of memory and thus a smoother game. I was having a lot of problems before with the fact that the game did not seem to efficiently utilize the memory I have (which is vast), and it’s way better now. I don’t get sudden and short drops in fps anymore that seemed to be caused by the game just suddenly dropping the amount of memory that it was using. (I did the research and tests and apparently this was the problem, hence I was hopeful for the 1.9 update.) I hope that it helps for you.

    • You are definitely not imagining it. I traded in my PS3 copy months ago over that. They made the PS3 version look like absolute garbage.

  7. Hi bethesda. There is a bug/glitch within the DawnGuard DLC for the Xbox360. During and after the main dawnguard questline has been finished, requardless of which path was chosen. A player is unable to remove or dispose of 2-3 of the elderscrolls that you acquire from the intventory. At 20lbs per E-scroll this really is a burden on a players inventory.

Other bugged items in the inventory: Finns lute after quest is completed, Pantea’s flute after quest is completed, Rjorns drum after quest is completed, Gallus Desidenius Journal from main thieves guild quest

    • The Gallus’ journal bug is being fixed, check the bugfixes in the above post.
I think the Bards College items are being looked at as well.

      • i have the drum but i can’t return it to anyone. everyone from the bards college was outside when a dragon attacked and killed everyone except for the old man, now i can’t finish any bard college missions.

    • @TheWade If you want to get rid of the Elder Scrolls you can sell them to the moth priest at the end of the quest line, the dragon scroll can be sold to the Orc in the arcanium at the College of Winterhold.

    • Elder scrolls (and almost ALL quest Items) do NOT have weight. They say that they do but drop EVERYTHING else and you will see that you do NOT have added weight from them being there. Also have you tried to sell them to the Mages Guild Librarian? that’s how I got rid of mine.

    • It is annoying that these items clog up your inventory, but anything considered a quest item weighs nothing so you don’t have to worry about it taking up your space.

If you don’t believe me, go ahead and drop all of your items into a chest.
You’ll find that once you have put away everything that isn’t a quest item, you carry weight is 0, despite the fact that the scrolls clearly read 20ibs each.

    • quest items dont actually weigh anything, their weight is listed but if they are marked quest it wont count towards your carry limit

    • You can sell them to the moth priest, I dont remember his name and Im in the middle of a dungeon atm so i cant fast travel to tell ya! You know, the guy that got blinded by the scrolls. He gives you 6k for them, and also when they are in your inventory after the quests, they do not affect carrying capacity.

    • I know having the main elder scroll & Not being able to store it or Drop it is annoying You’ve used it there’s no point in keeping it around it’s just 20 pounds less you can carry They should really change that.

    • You do know that the elder scrolls, while SAYING they take up 20 item space, indeed take up ZERO item space. So they’re weightless, they just have text SAYING they’re 20 pounds.

It’s like the Dragonstone. It’s 25 pounds, but really 0 pounds.

Also, you can sell all 3 Elder Scrolls, after main quest end, to the monk featured in Dawnguard. So really, even if they did weigh anything they’re easily taken care of.

  8. There’s just one thing I want added. A quick 180 degree turn to face behind you.
The amount of enemies that run at you only to wind up behind you gets frustrating quickly.
This would make the game more enjoyable, rather than having whirl the mouse around to do the same thing.
It’s not like you’re short on buttons. Please add this in.

    • Sorry to doublepost, but there’s something else.
Better taunts. I heard better taunts when I was nine years old. Half the things said in Skyrim would be embarassing to the speaker rather than egging on the player.
This goes for Fallout as well. Wheny ou get around to another one, make sure the taunts actually can aggrevate the player in the right way.

      • on a more serious note… how about fixing so that there are audible taunts for races other than nords when using the throw voice shout… seriously… i would love to hear my khajiit say “HEY SKOOMA JUNKIE!!!” lol

  9. With regards to the General memory and stability improvements, is the crash to desktop at the 3GB memory mark corrected? Every time time Skyrim gets to 3GB the game will CTD.

Also, when will the DX11 version be available? I can recall that something was said around this and was just checking on the status.

  10. Hello! This is very intriguing. One glitch that I’d like to point out — I’m not sure if it is a glitch, or if it was purposefully intended — that relates to the Hearthfire DLC Trophies (I’m on PS3): I cannot purchase the 3rd and final plot of land in Falkreath. I killed the steward as part of one of the Dark Brotherhood quests. The Jarl doesn’t let me purchase anything. Did you guys completely miss this detail when coming up with trophies? I don’t really want to start a new game since buying and building houses is expensive, and new characters are pretty much poor. I’m sure adding a new steward to Falkreath isn’t that hard? Cheers…

  11. I’m having trouble with my hearthfire dlc.. It has taken away all my house building options after my first attempt with the building if I don’t have enough materials on hand. What do I do?? Please fix this. I pai for it I want it to work right

  12. Also, in regards to the Dawnguard expansion for PS3, please enable the acquisition of the Ancient Falmer Crown, and classify it as light armor. That would really make my day.

  13. I’m having trouble with my hearthfire dlc for PS3. It has taken away all my house building options after my first attempt with the building if I don’t have enough materials on hand. What do I do?? Please fix this. I paid for it I want it to work right

  14. I was hoping to get some bugs in the Dawnguard DLC fixed. I can’t continue the quest past “A New Order” because Gunmar doesn’t think the bear at Honeystrand Cave is dead and I don’t have a save before he gives me the location (PS3).

      • They’re anming the next one “Redguard”?
That’d be like naming the current one “Nord”.
If it is in the Redguard homeland it should be called “Hammerfell”, in keeping with the tradition of the game/DLC being named after the main area.
        Arena, Daggerfall, Morrowind, Oblivion, Skyrim.
We can argue about Arena, but that was before naming them after the regions.

          • True. The core is still Skyrim, though.
If they’re going to call it “Redguard”, does that mean that they’ll one day make called “Orc”?

Seems dumb to name it after one race in particular. I hope with al my being that it’s just a working title.

        • It will probably become a new trend where they start naming things after the storyline involved. Stupid. Stick to what makes these games interesting and that is tell us where it is, not what it’s about until we find out for ourselves.

        • I may not be too sure of this but from playing skyrim for quite awhile, you hear about almost every other race througout the game but barely anything about redguard. Correct me if I am wrong :p There is obviously a meaning to it, in my opinion! And dragonborn isnt exactly a traditional DLC name? Just sayin!

        • Daggerfall was a town, not an entire province.

          Oblivion took place in Cyrodiil.

Redguard is already the name of an existing Elder Scrolls game, in case you didn’t know.

      • And when is the Skyforge glitch going to be resolved where the flood doesn’t load and Eorland dies? It happened to me on my last playthrough and I missed out on Skyforge weapons and a bunch of people were all bummed out he fell through reality and died. Vampire attacks I can understand, but not like this!

  15. great idea for the 1.9 update: how about some ability to guid the dragons with the bend will shout. im tired of flying in a circle with so much power an not able to go to new landmarks.
an fix the glitch here im sommoning something an it fails yet regenerates my magica, i would like to not be over runed by bandits alone.

  16. If the ‘miraak stays ethereal’ bug isn’t fixed, I think I’ll be requesting a refund for dragonborn. Got it on 360 when it came out and still haven’t finished it!!! Not happy!!!

  17. So many bugs for the Ps3 Dragonborn DLC :( like when i return to skall village for the shaman to read the book and he just sits there on his knees… and also on another character he would read but immediatly after when i opened the “winds of change” black book it did not teleport me to Apocrypha! and several others with shouting at the stones… found a way around that tho.. by using the “bend will” shout on the others before actually shouting at the wind stone… of course i know in time they may be worked out .. but will the next patch adress any of these issues?? Still thank you Bethesda for making another great game that i have enjoyed Hundreds of hours playing!

  18. Awesome finally I can say bye bye to the level cap,

(Doubt anyone would care but my suggestion would be a little quest where your reward is to pledge your soul to 1 daedric prince or go to sovngarde for the RP plays like me)

  19. There is one bug that needs fixing. Can we please make it so the Gildergreen in Whiterun can get replaced by it’s smallerversion. It’s unsettling to see a dead tree with branches growing out of it’s trunk. Also the Dawnguard glitch where you can’t read the elderscrolls during Unseen Visions, that needs to be fixed too.

  20. I’ve opt-in for the beta on steam but I can’t seem to find legendary difficulty, it goes up to master not legendary. What can be causing the error?

  21. Will there be a fix for the Lakeview Manor? I am unable to purchase land because I killed the Housecarl Helvard for a contract with the Dark Brotherhood.

  22. ? Still no comment from Bethesda about the PS3 performance issues (increased jerkiness and more frame-rate drops) and reduced graphics quality (static trees etc., popping of distant detail, intermittent lo-res textures) after 1.8 and the DLCs are installed? Not to mention the various bugs such as mid-air drops and bouncing objects, buggy house building menus, and silent wolves after DG installed (known about since middle of last year, so why couldn’t that be fixed for the PS3 release 6 months later?).

I was initially very pleased with these DLCs, but having played for a while I now feel really let down. Yes, I’ve reinstalled the game data, and I’ve also tried starting with a fresh character.
Please Bethesda, can’t you at least comment on whether any of these issues are addressed in 1.9, or are likely to be in a subsequent update?

Failing that, I’m seriously considering uninstalling the DLCs and going back to vanilla Skyrim, though with no way to remove 1.8 I’m still stuck with the poorer PS3 graphics :(

    • Easy fix: Sell your garbage… I mean PS3, and get a 360 for three reasons. 1: NONE of those problems you mentioned. 2: Earlier DLC. 3:Increased Security for your accounts and Personal info from a company that has NEVER been hacked. Also, this isn’t going to be a one time issue, the PS3 was made to NOT work well with Windows based system i.e. ALL the programs used to make 90% of games including The Elder Scrolls.

  23. Three glitches I have come across:
1.) When I try to play a game with my kids, Samuel and Runa Fair-Shield, if playing tag, it won’t let me tag anyone, it just goes into all the dialogue options. Same with Hide and Seek, it won’t give me the option for, “I found you!”
2.) In the Ragged Flagon, Delvin and Vex both sat in the stool on the left, and their bottoms were half way through the stool.
3.) When I talk to someone and they finish speaking, it acts as if they are and I can’t go further into dialogue.
I haven’t seen any more glitches, but I hope at least number one and three are fixed. I don’t really care about number two, just a funny little thing.

  24. I appreciate the fixes (mostly) and the new content, but why spend time fixing the Oghma Infinium glitch when there are others that actually break quests or the entire game? Nobody is being forced to use the OI glitch.

One other problem I have run across that I’m not able to start “Repairing the Phial” despite having completed “The White Phial” and “Throat of the World.”

A question: If that issue is fixed, would I be able to get the letter immediately after having progressed past that point? if anyone could enlighten me on this, that would be great!

  25. Seriously? Taking off the oghma glitch? I don’t understand why you would remove it. I mean if you remove it than that would be unfair to some console users because all of these pc users can use things like console command and mods. I mean it’s pretty stupid, if a player decides how he or she wants to play their game than they should be able to do so. Like if a player wants to hurry up and level up their character what is it going to hurt? If it won’t hurt other players than who are we to say that they can’t do it? Once again the freaking pc gets its way of glitching and doing other weird things to their game while we console players just watch.

  26. Sorry for the spam. I re-installed beta to stop crashing and it worked, but now every time I level up, one level 100 skill goes back to fifteen and I swear I didn’t press space.

  27. I would like to see a perk apply when upgrading Stormcloak Officer’s armor set like advanced armors… and hopefully the boots are one of the improperly calculated items being fixed… and about the horses being able tobe stabled..a very simple work around is to fast travel on Arvok… provided that you have Dawnguard… and a question… does the perks being returned mean that we get the perk points back to reassign? That would really rock on a paladin! And what will the new level cap be? I’m guessing roughly 121

  28. “Legendary Skills – Skills of 100 can be made Legendary. This will reset the skill to 15, return its Perks and allow the skill to affect leveling again. This effectively removes the overall level cap.”

Does this mean that my character, after honing his skill at the bow up do level 100, will lose all knowledge of it after the reset? Or is it more like his level at the bow will still be 100 + 15? Losing the whole progression wouldn’t make any sense to me.

  29. I have played Skyrim more than anyone I know, but only on ps3. I wish there was a way to reset quests like you can on pc. like the quest for the thieves guild were brinouf doesn’t meet you in the raggin flagon because you can’t start the quest cause all he says is hmmm… or were in dawnguard you cant get page 9 of joibs book because a enemy attacked you and you fireballed his butt six feet under along with the page you needed to finish the quest. the only way to fix it is to go to your last save, after bethesa said themselves to turn off the autosave to get less freezing… I wish we could have the same experience as everyone else… we did spend the same money ya know… I just wish I could play it on pc, but i don’t have the money for it and have put more time in the ps3 version than anyone should… This is my favorite game of all time, but I know ppl can do better.

    • Yeah, I know how you feel! Maybe I’m too obsessive, but I got so fed up with junk in my journal that I’m just starting a new character from scratch, and trying to keep a totally “clean” journal, with no dead quests and no items stuck in my inventory. I create a new save whenever it’s clean (no miscellaneous quests, the minimum of main quests, and nothing stuck in my inventory) so I can go back if something goofs. Not sure it’s worth the effort though! Think I’ll have to resort to a PC in the end, which’ll solve my performance moans (see above) as well. The main thing that puts me off is the controller – I know PC Skyrimmers will disagree, but I find the PS3 Dualshock with analog sticks totally intuitive now, and I can move and turn simultaneously and smoothly, which I just don’t believe is going to be possible with a keyboard and mouse. I’ve tried DS3 Tool, but it’s a bit yukky, so maybe I’ll have to buy and get used to an Xbox controller.

      • I just don’t think we should have to change everything we have from the ps3 to another system just because we thought we were buying a mercedes and got a fait…

        • I just want one thing…. The levelers tower. If they would maybe give us something like that, you would never hear ps users ever complain again…. maybe for some of us hard core ppl who have done it all…

          • i was being sarcastic… cause i know it will never happen, just like we will never stop complaining… but that tower isn’t even close to what they could do, if they wanted… they got there money, oh wait… OUR money

    • Your absolutely right. And this would actually be possible to do and beneficial to the more critical eyed players. The PC version gets the “console command” option )(tild key on keyboard). Other companies have put in place a defacto console command and turn off trophies. I.E. Rockstar, Naughty Dog and others.
I would love to have this option to at least clear out all of the quest crap that gets stuck in my inventory. In trying to dumb the game down with a security blanket they have made menu clutter even worse.

  30. Bethesda please don’t remove the oghma infinium glitch. Here’s why: A lot of people have already finished the game legitimatley, and have explored everywhere and done as much as they can on the game. But when they start a new game they have to do it all over again. I personally love the glitch because it means i can kill enemy’s in more creative ways without have to level up to lvl 81. Bethesda i know you like to fix bugs and unwanted exploits for better game play but the infinium glitch doesn’t screw anything else up. It may have been an unwanted glitch to you but for many of the millions of people who play Skyrim want the exploit. Bethesda i’m frankly disappointed in you, you have always given the players to have the freedom to play however they wish, so let them. Don’t take away one of the the most useful accidents ever to happen in Skyrim. Please Bethesda i’m begging you, do not remove the glitch.

  31. The ogma infinitum works great. Normally I level up before any missions. But by the time my character is where I like, the lag becomes unberable. Then its time to start all over again. At least with it I can enjoy myself for a little while and that’s what its all about innit.

  32. fixing the fact that companions will put on better armor does that mean only better armor or any armor given to them, and does this mean it actually stays on them now. lydia is my wife on my main char and she is always naked does not even wear her steel armor and well i would like to give her normal clothing or robes and well normal clothing is not better then steel so does that mean she still will not wear the clothes i have given her?

    • does it work for ps3??? have you tried on the new patch on pc, cause your mods might not work after the patch :/ even if you encrypt it back to ps3 from pc

  33. why is everyone complaining about the games flaws when you could be talking about how the new patch could possibly lead on to DLC. i mean, why sook?

    • because if they don’t fix the frame rate problems on the ps3, and take away the only level glitch we have, we won’t be able to even play a new dlc… my file right now is over 19 mbs. my game lags so bad now i can’t do anything outside, and dragon battles are impossible… I love the fact that they are fixing things, but if it ain’t broke… I just think that there are other issues here that maybe we don’t know. PC ppl can even get a pirate copy of skyrim on the nexas… now whats up with that… I just think there can be more done for ps3 users. Im not putting anyone else down, but look at the big picture now…

      • i do understand you situation… if i had a problem like that i just wouldnt play it… i would wait for updates and keep watch on Bethblog and hope for the best.. but still try and get there attention by still letting them know “There is a problem, fix it” but by now im sure they know. good luck PS3 usures your day will come.

  34. people complaining about the skill increase not stacking with previous perks in x skills how easy would u like them to make the game? what would the point of legendary difficulty be if it would take no skill or planning to make it as easy as novice? if the perks stayed in there respective spots while getting more from leveling and being able to put more perks into the same skill. ur char could easily be so op it would be worse then the resto loop.

the point of the level increase is to allow u to surpass the level cap something everyone has asked them to increase or get rid of thus allowing u to have higher health stamina and magic. and actually give people the ability to have more perks or even all of them, or to have a couple different character builds all in one character. it also makes the game a little harder something people find skyrim is lacking or even impossible(being level 81, make all ur skills legendary thus being equivalent excluding HP.ST.MA and gear to a level 1 and then putting it on legendary).

    • You don’t HAVE to make your skills Legendary, nor is it forced upon you. You CAN if you wish, that’s the point of the screenshot. Did you note the the little tag above the Heavy Armor pattern that reads “(Y) Legendary”?

You can keep your skills as they are and your level stuck at 81 if that’s your desire.

      Also, what Resto Loop?
Until someone mods the hell out of the Civil War, that’s going to be my main gripe.

      • exactly, forgot about that in my rant but ya u don’t even have to use this new ability if u truly don’t think it is for u.

and the resto loop i don’t know if it has been patched because i do not use it but it would basically allow u to have armor cap with just an iron helm. and enchantments like resist fire/frost/shock/magic/poison/disease etc and X magic school costs less u could max all of them out in one enchantment, or make ur weapon do any amount of damage u would like, it is/was very game breaking.

        • when i say all in one enchantment i don’t mean 10 enchantments on one item i just mean u can have destruction and restoration spells both cost 100% less on one item if u have the last perk in enchanting.

  35. What about the bugs with Derkeethus not following you out of Darkwater Pass? You need to stay in close proximity to him or he’ll SLOWLY walk back to his cage. He also does not leave the pass when trying both exits. Waiting, attacking and luring, pushing him against the door then leaving, and reloading the game has yet to solve the glitch or bug. Derkeethus is the only Argonian follower, you know. Good luck to getting them squashed. I really want an Argonian follower on the PS3.

    • and he can’t be a steward in hearthfire… What you don’t trust Argonians. I think he would be a good one, maybe keep you spouse from mining the clay all day. he might do it instead lol…

  36. I have been enjoying the new PS3 DLC’s, thank you for the hard work to allow us additional content on our PS3 consoles.

Please leave the Oghma Infinium glitch alone. In my opinion, you should not have fixed the Mannequin glitch. They both serve a purpose for those of us who choose to exploit them. They do not cause any problems with game play or the progression of questlines. Players have the option to ignore them, and not take advantage of these glitches. I had a lot of fun duplicating one of a kind pieces of apparel on the mannequin, then enchanting or improving them such as with armor.

Instead, I ask that you spend your time fixing bugs such as the Hearthfire, Lakeview Manor (Helvard) discrepancy. The Dark Brotherhood quest line happened long before Hearthfire and should not have caused the bug that denies the Dragonborn from purchasing the land when all other criteria has been met.

    • there is away around that quest, but it takes alot of doing… but, your right… we shouldn’t have to go through flaming hoops, for something we paid for. they should do a update to let us reset quest. My son can’t even get into the thieves guild lol, he started attacking everyone in the ratway to the flagon. even the ones in the flagon lol… when he went to do the quest for brynolf, he wouldn’t even talk to him. he saved the game and still plays that character, because he has a hard time starting new… but if quests could get reset, then he wouldn’t have to start over

  37. Will the patch fix the bugs assiciated with the The Man Who Cried Wolf Quest on Xbox, this is preventing the purchase of the Solitude house, have tried all suggestions for getting Varnius Junius to talk to Firebeard and he just stands there.

Also will the patch stop followers from standing in doorways preventing you from entering/leaving rooms.

    • the follower glitch doesn’t just happen with followers, it happens with all NPCs around you too… and can corrupt your game save… This really needs to be fixed. Thats a bad glitch, I had that one and it sucked. I check all doors around me to make sure there not standing there before i save…

  38. i have completed some miscleanous quests but they still on my log…i updated to beta but still there, i have a quest to give the wedding ring to ysolda but i dont have the option to give to her when we are talking…
