Around the Web: Countdown Collection

As the end of the year draws near, more and more lists and countdowns are starting to sweep the internet. With the advent of new consoles and the opportunity for new titles, we take a look at some of the praise last generation titles received.

Crowning glory comes from Examiner.com who granted Skyrim the coveted title of “Game of the Generation”. This was the first of several “Best of a Generation” mentions we received in 2013. Kotaku included Skyrim as a Game that defined “last gen”, while Hardcore Gamer honored multiple Bethesda titles in their Top 100 Games of the Generation, including: Oblivion, Dishonored, Fallout: New Vegas, Skyrim, and Fallout 3.

And where there are last-gen countdowns, one should expect next-gen (err… current gen?) countdowns. In such a list, Gameranx listed Wolfenstein The New Order as one of the Top 10 games to look forward to in 2014.

Elsewhere in the land of the lists, something about the bitter-cold temperatures in Skyrim gave inspiration for Winter weather countdowns. Shortlist mentions the frigid temperatures found atop the Throat of the World in their list, while IGN celebrates Skyrim for being the perfect seasonal game. As you ready for the holidays, curl up in a blanket, drink some hot chocolate, and give Skyrim a revisit during your winter break.

  1. Ill be honest here for a moment. When i first got my original Xbox i couldnt believe how amazong it was at the time. One of my friends told me about a game title The Elder Scrolls 3 Morrowind. I had to buy it because he wouldnt stop talking about it… and you know what………. im glad i did. Ever since the first time i stepped foot into the first game i purchased Bethesda i feel in love with your beautiful games. Games with amaxing story tellings, beautiful filled worlds, and games that… in my life time so far ive never played so many hours in a game except yours. I played Oblivion and loved it even more… Then Skyrim….. which hold a special place in my heart thanks to how such an amazing job the team at Bethesda did on it. Fallout 3 hold the best game howrver because of the feel and the hardship it is to be such an amazing masterpiece. Exiting the vault was just the begining and i hope to travel a new era once more. Heres to you Bethesda at makong the best games ive ever played in my life time. Merry Christmas to everyone at the studio and have a Happy New Year.

  3. Would Bethesda ever consider making a Lord of the Rings RPG Game, would they have the rights for it.

What happened to the LOTR Mod Game for Skyrim.

  4. A new year is starting and I was wondering if Skyrim will ever get a new update. Will it? I picked up Skyrim around the start of this year since my dad would always be playing with it and I love the game to death. My friends and I have pointed out though that is sucks that you can’t remarry, and as a vampire your face turns burnt and other things as well. I was just wondering if you will be giving us anymore updates. Thank you.
