PAX East was awesome! In the slideshow above, check out some of our weekend highlights — including our booth, The Elder Scrolls Food Truck, and our special community event: The 347th Annual Tamriel Beer Garden.
To everyone that came, thanks for making this year’s PAX East so memorable.
Today we’re looking at the latest highlights for Dishonored, including the first coverage for the game’s upcoming add-on, The Knife of Dunwall.
First, let’s give a hand to Arkane Studios and all our Dishonored fans. Last night at GDC’s Game Developers Choice Awards, the game took home the first-ever Audience Award!
At PAX East and across Europe, gaming journalists got their first chance to play The Knife of Dunwall, which puts you in control of Daud — the legendary assassin responsible for the murder of Empress Jessamine. In a new video up at GameTrailers (and embedded above), you’ll get your first glimpse look at gameplay.
“From our playthrough of the first mission of The Knife of Dunwall, it’s clear that no expense has been spared in offering more full-fledged missions that leverage and expand upon the design principles established by Dishonored’s unique environment design and stealth gameplay.”
Battlecry Studios, our newest studio which opened their doors in October, is looking for top talent to join their Austin, TX-based team. While we can’t tell you exactly what they’re working on yet, they’re already hard at work on redefining the Free-To-Play game space.
A full list of job openings can be found at jobs.zenimax.com. Listings currently include:
At Destructoid, Chris Carter reports that the game’s plans for a fully-functioning first person mode looks “… extremely impressive, to the point where it looked like they were playing Oblivion and Skyrim at times.” In a separate article, Carter declares the game “a welcome hybrid of old and new school MMO mechanics” and shares the following thoughts on the game’s distinct Elder Scrolls feel:
“As the developers at Zenimax were showing off the game, you could tell that they really cared about the history of the Elder Scrolls franchise. It was clear after playing it for an extended period of time that there will be lots of lore here to uncover; perhaps more than any other Elder Scrolls game before it.”

Good news, Dishonored fans! We can confirm today that Michael Madsen (Reservoir Dogs, Kill Bill) will return as the voice of Daud in both of Dishonored’s upcoming add-ons, next month’s The Knife of Dunwall and later this year, The Brigmore Witches.
We’ll have more details on The Knife of Dunwall this week, including its very first previews. In the meantime, scope out our Facebook and Twitter pages for new concept art from Arkane Studios.
We know that not everybody gets a chance to go to PAX East, but that doesn’t mean you can’t score some great gear from the event. Our friends at Astro Gaming have kindly donated to us two Astro A40 headsets – complete with customizable speakertags for The Elder Scrolls Online.
If you are at PAX East, you’ll have additional opportunities to score these headsets at our special community event for The Elder Scrolls Online. Visit here for more details on the event.
If you’ve finished Dishonored, you’re familiar with the song “Honor for All”. The game’s composer, Daniel Licht, recently uploaded an acoustic version of the track to his YouTube channel — featuring the haunting lyrics of his nephew, Jon Licht, who co-wrote and performed the track for the end credits.
