Announced last week, the polls for our reverse packaging vote for The Evil Within have closed, and the “Asylum image” shown above is the decisive winner. Thanks to everyone that participated and helped us make the choice. And keep an eye on your email — we’ve notified the ten winners of a signed copy of the game via email.
As a reminder, the reverse packaging is for the launch edition of The Evil Within, and the packaging is to change for subsequent prints of the game. You can make sure you get the launch edition of the game by pre-ordering the game through www.theevilwithin.com.
The Evil Within releases in North America on Tuesday, October 14th and throughout Europe on October 17th.
The first time everyone in a group laid eyes on the cover for The Evil Within, we were pretty sure we nailed it. The cover encapsulates the peril you’ll experience playing the game.
But is it for everyone? From our days of following social media and sites like NeoGaf — we know you like your alternate cover options, too — because the other country usually has the better cover. So as to make sure everyone has a say, we’re presenting three alternate cover options — one of which will be the reverse sleeve for the launch edition of The Evil Within.
Below are three options. Be sure to vote for your pick on the Bethesda Blog poll on the right-hand side, and if you email your choice to firstname.lastname@example.org, you’ll have a chance to win one of 10 signed copies of The Evil Within (when the game ships, of course). Good luck and thanks for voting!
If you’re lost you can look – and you will find me — Con after Con.
That’s the case for The Evil Within. A week after making a trip to QuakeCon 2014, we’re excited to announce that the game — along with more than 20 other titles — will be playable at Microsoft’s Xbox Lounge for San Diego Comic-Con weekend. While in town for the show, head to Manchester Grand Hyatt — Seaport Ballroom, 2nd floor during these hours:
- Thursday: 11AM – 6PM
- Friday: 11AM – 8PM
- Saturday: 11AM – 8PM
- Sunday: 11AM – 5PM
In addition to playing new games, 20 custom-designed Xbox Ones will be given out during the weekend, including the barbed-wire brain box shown above. For a chance to win (full rules here), head over to the Xbox Gaming Lounge, snap a photo of your favorite custom console (that would be The Evil Within), and tweet. Be sure to follow @Xbox, tweet a photo of the console in the Xbox Gaming Lounge, and include the hashtags #XboxOne and #XboxSweeps.
Watch out. The Keeper (aka Boxman… aka The Head Lauper) will always be waiting… con after con.
On top of being a gaming paradise, the BYOC can feel like you’re visiting the gaming equivalent of a an auto show — PCs with ridiculous horsepower and monster truck-esque casings. Truly a site to behold.
