While last week’s Eurogamer Expo is over, there’s still plenty of buzz coming out of the event. Today Eurogamer revealed the attendees’ top 10 list, with Dishonored coming in as the most popular game of the show. Here’s an excerpt from the article…
“Dishonored’s another smart offering, though it’s perhaps not as shy about that part of its make-up as some of its compatriots. Here’s a game that promises to reward the intelligent player, its brand of stealth being culled straight from a golden age of PC gaming. That a new IP from a pretty much unproven studio is generating so much excitement is testament to Dishonored’s power.”
We have just released an interactive video for Dishonored. A true choose your own adventure, the trailer offers a full series of interactive videos – including a branch that allows for a non-violent playthrough.
As you make your way through the video, which was created with the help of the Twine interactive game engine, be on the lookout for hidden giveaways.
Note: The video features extended content (and minor spoilers)… you’ve been warned. We also recommend viewing the video in full screen. Enjoy!
We’re thrilled to announce that Dishonored has “Gone Gold”! After more than three years of development, 30+ versions of the game (accounting for different languages, countries, and platforms) are ready for release. Huge congrats to Arkane’s Lyon and Austin offices, as well as everyone else involved with the project.
Coming to PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and PC, Dishonored will be available in North America on October 9, 2012, in Australia and Spain on October 11, 2012, and throughout Europe on October 12, 2012.
And to celebrate, we’re going to give away an extremely limited Overseer mask (note: not actually made of gold) created specifically for our PAX Prime Boyle Mansion Party, as well as a signed copy of the game. For a chance to win, read the sweepstakes rules after the break.
Watch ‘In the Mind of Madness’, the final chapter in three-part Dishonored webisode series entitled ‘The Tales from Dunwall’.
‘In the Mind of Madness’ introduces Piero, a key figure in the city of Dunwall, and who also plays a pivotal role in Corvo’s story.
All three episodes, which were created by Psyop and Rokkan, scored by Daniel Licht (Dexter) and narrated by Chloe Grace Moretz (Kick Ass), are currently featured on the game’s official site, www.Dishonored.com.
Just a reminder that the Remix Competition for ‘The Drunken Whaler’ ends this Friday. If you’re looking for a little inspiration, check out contributions from co-QA Project Lead Jen Tonon and QA Tester James Stancil.
Jen, who provides rhythm guitar and backing vocals for Cassandra Syndrome, took the contest as an opportunity to play some guitar on the weekend. For James’ mix, he took a vastly different approach and turned “The Drunken Whaler” into a catchy dance track.
‘The Tales from Dunwall’, the three-part Dishonored webisode series continues with the release of ‘The Hand the Feeds’. While the first episode reveals how Dunwall was revolutionized by a new energy source, this next chapter is a cautionary tale – one that illustrates the advantages, and the dangerous disadvantages, of accepting supernatural abilities from The Outsider.
Anxious for Dishonored? On Wednesday (now today), IGN will livestream part of the Kaldwin’s Bridge mission and follow up with a Q&A session featuring the game’s co-creative directors, Harvey Smith and Raphael Colantonio.
The streaming will take place Wednesday at 7:30 PM BT during IGN’s London event for the game — that’s 2:30 PM EST and 11:30 AM PST for folks stateside.
