More of the Gun Runners’ Arsenal

We’re back with more details on Gun Runners’ Arsenal. Once again, here’s project director Josh Sawyer…

GRA Tri-Beam Laser Rifle,  Plasma Defender - You’re an Energy Weapon aficionado and you’re looking for some mid-range customizations.  We’ve got just the thing you’re looking for.  The Gun Runners have set up distribution for customizable Tri-Beam Laser Rifles and Plasma Defenders. For the Tri-Beam, you’ve got Focus Optics (increases damage), HD Capacitors (dramatically increases condition), and a High-Capacity Terminal (increases ammo capacity). If you’re more of a “Plasma Spaz”, take in the customizable Plasma Defender (shown above). A Scope and Sheath Stabilizer (decreases spread) give it a “throwback” look.  The High-Capacity Terminal significantly boosts ammo capacity.

Watch the Lonesome Road trailer!

Watch the newly-released (and awesome) trailer for Lonesome Road — the fourth game add-on pack for Fallout: New Vegas, coming out on September 20th. Props to our very own Salinee Goldenberg for her great work on all the New Vegas DLC trailers!

In Lonesome Road you are contacted by the original Courier Six, a man by the name of Ulysses who refused to deliver the Platinum Chip at the start of Fallout: New Vegas. Ulysses promises the answer as to why he didn’t take the job, but only if you make one last journey into the hurricane-swept canyons of the Divide, a landscape torn apart by earthquakes and violent storms. It’s up to you whether you take the job or not.

Lonesome Road will be available next week for download on Xbox LIVE, PlayStation Network and Steam (Xbox LIVE for 800 Microsoft points, PlayStation Network and Steam for $9.99).

Lonesome Road Holotape #1

We’re still two weeks weeks from the release of Lonesome Road. To get you ready, each week we’ll be releasing a new holotape.

To set the stage, here’s Lonesome Road’s project director, Mr. Chris Avellone…

Lonesome Road brings the DLC story arc to a close – events that were first hinted at in New Vegas and Dead Money come to pass, as the last of the DLC cast of characters, Ulysses, reveals himself. For a time, we just introduced him through the perspectives of other characters, a description of another Courier who wore an Old World flag on his back, and in Old World Blues, a mysterious figure who marked his presence through graffiti and holotapes left in the Big Empty.

But those holotapes weren’t the only recordings. Ulysses carried more on his journey back to the Divide, and used them to chronicle his past and yours. As your Courier will discover in Lonesome Road, these recordings of Ulysses are buried in the wreckage and storms of the Divide. As you walk the road, you’ll have a chance to hear the history of the courier who has spent years hunting you down.

This is the first of a series of holotapes your Courier may find in the Divide. While we, as developers only knew a few things for certain about your player character’s history, Ulysses can shed more light on past events – and events to come.

Skyrim roundup: Vampires, DLC news, QuakeCon/Gamescom, and more!

In a few hours, fans at PAX Prime will finally be able to play Skyrim for the first time. Until then, we wanted to share the latest Skyrim news from around the web.

Earlier this morning, Microsoft announced that the first two pieces of game add-on content for Skyrim will be releasing exclusively on Xbox 360 — 30 days before they’re available anywhere else. When we have more details on the content, we’ll let everyone know.

Elsewhere, don’t miss Dave Oshry’s Skyrim preview posted yesterday at RipTen. The preview is significant, as he’s the first person we know that encountered vampires in his playthrough. Read the four-page preview here.

Fun fact: Pete Hines is actually dragonborn. At least that’s my explanation for how he survived all the interviews he did at Gamescom. With more than 275,000 attendees in Cologne last week, Pete used the power of the voice to conduct countless interviews with sites like Gamespot, ComputecDestructoid, and FBC.

Lonesome Road coming September 20th; Courier’s Stash and Gun Runners’ Arsenal one week later (Updated)

The Courier’s journey ends this September.

We’re excited to share that Lonesome Road, the fourth add-on pack for Fallout: New Vegas, will be available for download on Xbox LIVE, PlayStation Network and Steam on September 20th.

But wait! There’s more!!

Today we’re also announcing two additional DLC packs, Courier’s Stash and Gun Runners’ Arsenal, which will be available for download one week later on September 27th.

Courier’s Stash (Xbox LIVE for 160 Microsoft points, PlayStation Network and Steam for $1.99) gives players immediate access to four content bundles previously available only through pre-ordering Fallout: New Vegas. The Caravan Pack, Classic Pack, Mercenary Pack and Tribal Pack each offer unique weapons, apparel and aid advantages that will help you throughout your journey.

Gun Runners’ Arsenal (Xbox LIVE for 320 Microsoft points, PlayStation Network and Steam for $3.99) increases the range of unique weapons, weapon mods, ammo types and recipes waiting to be uncovered in the vast Mojave Wasteland.

Among the unqiue weapons added are the Bozar, an all-powerful 5.56mm Light Machine Gun, the Smitty Special, an overwhelming variant of the Plasma Caster, the MFC Cluster mine, the Esther, a unique Mini Nuke Launcher, and the ridiculous Nuka Breaker – a new melee weapon made from a Nuka-Cola neon sign. In total Gun Runners’ Arsenal adds 27 new weapons, 40 new weapon modifications for existing weapons, 18 new new recipes, and 29 new ammo types — including the 12 Ga. Dragon’s Breath, Hive Missiles, and 25mm/40mm Plasma Grenades. Finally, Gun Runners’ Arsenal also adds more than 20 all-new challenges to the Mojave Wasteland.

Lonesome Road update

Since the release of Old World Blues, we’ve been receiving plenty of questions asking when Fallout: New Vegas’ next game add-on, Lonesome Road, is planned for release. In our forums today, Senior Producer Jason Bergman posted an update:

“We just wanted to drop in here and let you know that due to circumstances beyond our control, Lonesome Road won’t be out this month. This isn’t due to any major issue with the code or content, but there are lots of factors involved in releasing these things, and one of those is causing us to slip past our intended release date.

We don’t have an exact date yet, but we’re working to get it out as quickly as possible. We’ll be announcing the final date, along with a couple of other interesting FNV-related items in the near future.”

Once we have a finalized release date for Lonesome Road, we’ll let everyone know. In the meantime, here’s the first screenshot from the new content.
