Fan Art Update

This weekend we’ve updated our fan art galleries with new Dishonored, Elder Scrolls, and Fallout contributions. There’s a great variety of art — paintings, toys, clay creations, and a whole lot more.

The majestic Skyrim image above comes from talented artist Richard F, who submitted several Skyrim-inspired pieces. See more of his work and submissions by others  in the Flickr slideshow below…

New fan art for RAGE, Dishonored, Fallout, and Skyrim

Today we’ve refreshed our fan art section with new contributions for Skyrim, Fallout, RAGE, and Dishonored. The RAGE buggy above comes from Kimmo in Finland. The image was modeled using 3d Max, rendered with V-Ray, and textured using Photoshop. It looks so good that several folks at the office thought it was a real buggy.

Fan Art Update

Hope everyone’s enjoying their Friday night. Before some relaxing, I thought I’d share the latest fan art contributions sent to us. Some really fantastic stuff — including our first fan art for RAGE!

Regarding our fan art section, please pardon our dust. We’re in the process of moving everything to the Bethesda Blog Flickr page. There you’ll find three album sets: Latest Fan Art, Elder Scrolls Fan Art, and Fallout Fan Art. As we get more contributions for our other titles (RAGE, Brink, etc.), we’ll create new albums.

If you’d like to share your work, email us at bethblog@bethsoft.com. Likewise, if you see your contributions on the Flickr page already, feel free to send us updated information for the image(s). With the Flickr page, we’re now able to put titles and descriptions in for each piece.

New fan art added

Just added a few more pieces to the fan art section of the blog — including this Skyrim-inspired piece from Richard Falla.

If you’ve got fan art to share — be sure to email it to us at bethblog@bethsoft.com. In addition to creations inspired by Fallout and The Elder Scrolls, we’d love to get some contributions for our upcoming games (Brink, Hunted), as well as well as games from id Software (Wolfenstein, RAGE, QUAKE, and DOOM).

Around the web

outnumbered.jpg

With most of our department out on travel this week, Nick and I will be heading out in a few. But before we go, here’s some the latest we’ve seen around the web.

Brink Creative Director Richard Ham has been pretty busy with interviews as of late. This week he answered questions from UK site GamesTM, as well as a few community questions from Australian site Games On Net. Here’s an excerpt from the latter:

Otto-matic: If it is P2P, will you implement a strong localisation mechanism that makes it very unlikely for Australian gamers to suffer lag connecting to a US host?
Richard: On PC, we’re fully supporting a traditional dedicated server system so connections should be fine and dandy. For consoles, we’re peer-to-peer and are definitely focusing on quality of service for all our matchmaking. We’re also keying our matchmaking on friends, so that should help give console players control over the quality of the connections.

New Fan Art

xivilai-02.jpg

We’ve uploaded new fan art to the blog this week. The Xivilai contribution above comes from Rosangela Ludovico (aka Rosy Crystal/dubiousdisc). Here’s a brief description of the piece, as written on her deviantART page:

“This is also the piece I’ve worked the absolute longest on, something like 48 hours. The drawing was made using 24 pencils. It was then painted over with watercolor, using watersoluble pencils for some details like the lava and the tattoos. The fireball was made with acrylic paint.”

Thanks for the submission, Rosangela. As always, we encourage you to  share your work with us — whether it’s from The Elder Scrolls, Fallout, Brink, or any of our other games. And there will be bonus points for anyone that whips up something involving both The Adoring Fan and Vault Boy.
