Fallout: New Vegas coverage is everywhere courtesy of recent shows, including GamesCom and QuakeCon. Here’s a recap of what you might have missed in the last couple weeks.
We start at GameTrailers, who feature two new interviews with Creative Director Chris Avellone. Watch the new features interview above, or head here to watch Mining the Past. Additionally, while at QuakeCon, GT also caught up with Feargus Urquhart.

Last night’s broadcast of GameTrailers TV is now online – watch above to learn more about Fallout: New Vegas from the game’s Project Director, Josh Sawyer. Use the slider above to search for the segment (it follows info on the latest God of War game), or watch it in HD at GameTrailers.com (just skip ahead to Chapter 3).
For a different take on New Vegas, watch last night’s story from Channel 8 News NOW (KLAS). The piece discusses the game in broad strokes (and features Josh Sawyer), while also asking if the real Las Vegas is prepared for similar circumstances.
Finally, at Comic-Con yesterday, Obsidian’s Chris Avellone, John Gonzalez, and George Ziets participated in the panel,”Fallout: Writing for Evolving Game Franchises.” Read a panel recaps at Gamespot, G4TV, and Kotaku.
For those of you in the greater Las Vegas area, wanted to give you a head’s up that Channel 8 News NOW (KLAS) will be doing a feature on Fallout: New Vegas during their 11 PM newscast (that’s PST). The newscast will feature gameplay footage, as well as the game’s Project Director, Josh Sawyer.
After the story airs, we’ll try to see if we can get our hands on the footage to share with all of you. And don’t forget, at 12:30 AM EST (check your local listings for more details), GameTrailers TV will be sharing details on the Brotherhood of Steel’s involvement in the game.

Will there be character “traits” as in the classic Fallout games?
From @TheBearPaw via TwitterJS: Yes. During character creation, you will have the option to select one or two traits. Traits include some of the classics, like Small Frame (in F:NV it gives a bonus to AG but you break limbs more easily), and new ones, like Four Eyes (bonus to PE while wearing glasses, penalty while not).

See those Super Mutants in the screenshot above? According to Josh Sawyer, Project Director on Fallout: New Vegas, the one’s you’ll see in the game will actually be re-textured, remodeled, and re-animated to more closely resemble the Mariposa Super Mutants. Let’s meet another member of Obsidian’s team — currently hard at work on Fallout: New Vegas. Today we’ve got Josh Sawyer, the game’s Project Director. Learn about his responsibilities on the project (they’re pretty important), highlights of his career, and and some of his passions outside of the office.
What’s your job at Obsidian?
I’m the project director and lead designer on Fallout: New Vegas. I am responsible for the overall vision of the game, high-level content design, and all of the system design. I help coordinate the production and lead team and generally just help people stay on track with the project as a whole.
While Nick’s been tracking down coverage for RAGE and Hunted: The Demon’s Forge, I’ve been working through all the coverage out of our Paris/Las Vegas press events for Fallout: New Vegas.
