Gaming press from around the globe visited ZeniMax Online Studios last week to play/learn more about The Elder Scrolls Online. Beginning this week, their impressions are making their way online.
In their second hands-on with the game, MMORPG.com has posted several new articles — including coverage of first-person controls, questing, crafting, AvA/PvP, playing as a sorcerer, and a new interview with Paul Sage.
At Destructoid, Chris Carter reports that the game’s plans for a fully-functioning first person mode looks “… extremely impressive, to the point where it looked like they were playing Oblivion and Skyrim at times.” In a separate article, Carter declares the game “a welcome hybrid of old and new school MMO mechanics” and shares the following thoughts on the game’s distinct Elder Scrolls feel:
“As the developers at Zenimax were showing off the game, you could tell that they really cared about the history of the Elder Scrolls franchise. It was clear after playing it for an extended period of time that there will be lots of lore here to uncover; perhaps more than any other Elder Scrolls game before it.”

Last week MMO and Elder Scrolls enthusiasts made their way to ZeniMax Online Studios and became the first to go hands on with The Elder Scrolls Online. With four hours to explore the game and access to key members of the development team, there’s plenty of new info being shared on their sites.

In the past few weeks, members of Arkane have traveled to New York, LA, and across Europe to show off new areas in Dishonored. In the past couple weeks, we’ve kept everyone up to speed on where you can see preview coverage for Prey 2.
In the process, we’ve seen some comments focusing on what’s not in Prey 2. Between now and the game’s release next year, we’ll be sharing plenty of details on what’s in the game. For starters, we encourage you to read previews in OXM, PlayStation The Official Magazine, and other publications worldwide. And in the coming weeks, you can expect more previews, interviews, etc. online. Once that’s all out there, you’ll know more about what (and who) is in the game, and how it all relates to the original game.

Brink made a huge splash (pun intended) at recent stops in LA, NY, and parts of Europe. We already covered off on some coverage last week (as has Splash Damage on their site), but there’s plenty more to share. To get started, watch the GameTrailers video (above) with the game’s creative director, Richard Ham.
Elsewhere, Lee Bradley of Play.tm recently played the game, and it sounds like Splash Damage’s goals for the game spoke directly to him. Here’s a snippet of his preview:
“Because the truth is, an FPS hasn’t had me that intrigued for a long time. Perhaps it’s timing, perhaps its design or maybe it’s just the infectious energy of the development team. They know they’re onto something good. Brink could be very special indeed.”
