We just landed at PAX Prime 2011. To help kick off the weekend, we’ve released an all-new RAGE gameplay video. This time around, we’re focusing on one of the game’s most challenging bandit clans, the Gearheads.
In this video, the Gearheads have started combining Feltrite and Plutonium to create the ultimate power supply. The mayor of Subwaytown sends you on a mission to the clan’s vault so that he can claim this new power for his own use.

With PAX Prime 2011 kicking off on Friday, we wanted to share details on what we’re planning.
At our booth (#1314), you won’t want to miss your chance to play RAGE, as well as presentations of Prey 2 at the top of every hour. On top of that, fans will be able to play Skyrim for the first time!
But wait, there’s more! At 3:30 pm on Saturday, Todd Howard will be giving a special presentation of the game in the Unicorn theater. Seating is expected to be limited, so you will definitely want to line up early. As a bonus, everyone that attends the demo will receive a ticket which can be redeemed at our booth for a Skyrim plush helmet — just like the one being modeled by our lovely 2008 PAX statue, Burnadette.
If you’re not able to get the helmet at the presentation, you can also visit our Skyrim food truck to grab one. Located at 9th & Pine (across from the Paramount Theater) from 11:30 to 3:00 pm Saturday, the truck will feature the following foods fit for a Nord:
With the Gamescom 2011 over, our UK office is already preparing for Eurogamer Expo 2011 — taking place at Earl’s Court in London September 22 – 25th. You’ll definitely want to check out this year’s event, as both RAGE and Skyrim will be playable!
If you’re interested in attending, be sure to purchase tickets before they sell out.
On September 14th, the world-famous Sydney Opera House will host ‘An Evening with id Software: A Look At The Past, Present and Future of Gaming’, starring RAGE’s creative director Tim Willits. Tim, the only id employee to attend every single QuakeCon, will talk candidly about id history and where he thinks the game industry is going.
In the coming days and weeks, we’ll share information on how lucky gamers will have a chance to attend this event alongside members of the game industry from Australia and New Zealand.

Update: We’ve made it to 100,000! The iPhone app (both in Standard and HD flavors) is now available for free on iTunes and will remain so for a week!
At this year’s QuakeCon, we announced that if we reach 100,000 fans on Facebook, we’d make RAGE/RAGE HD for iOS free for a week. As of this very moment, we’re at 97, 066 fans, so be on the lookout for the app going free very soon!
Summer’s almost over and we’re closing in on the release dates for RAGE (October 4th) and Skyrim (November 11th). If you can’t cryogenically freeze yourself, we recommend picking up these fine books from Random House.
RAGE, written by author and game writer Matt Costello, will release in North America on August 30, 2011. The novel centers around Lieutenant Nick Raine, an Ark survivor that emerges into the apocalyptic world of RAGE to confront a “would-be tyrant.” For an excerpt of the novel look below — jump over to Random House to preorder (folks in the UK can order here).
Lord of Souls, the second Elder Scrolls novel by Greg Keyes, will hit stores on September 27 in North America (September 23rd in the UK). Head to Random House to preorder the book (UK can pre-order here), but beware the synopsis if you haven’t read the first TES novel yet.
Watch the final video in our six part behind-the-scenes series for RAGE. In “The Sound and Art,” take a look at the sound design of RAGE with the team at id Software to find out how music, sound effects and voice acting come together to create an unforgettable, immersive experience.
