RAGE website gets a makeover

Those that visit our RAGE homepage today will notice we’ve revamped the look and feel of the site. Be sure to bookmark the page, as we’ll be adding some nice features between now and the game’s launch (Sept. 13th in North America, Sept. 16th in Europe). And if you’re one of those hip kids, be sure to follow RAGE on the Facebooks and Tweeters.

We’ll also keep you in the loop here at Bethesda Blog. For now, check out the site, enjoy the screenshots above, and check out developer profiles for John Carmack, Tim Willits, and Matt Hooper.

Fallout: New Vegas Digital Pre-sell Packs Now Available!

We’re pleased to announce Fallout: New Vegas digital pre-order packs are now available in North America through participating retailers and will be available worldwide soon. The Classic, Tribal, Caravan, and Mercenary packs each contain in-game items offered exclusively through Direct2Drive, GameStop, Amazon, Steam, Walmart and Best Buy.

Will whips up some mean screens

Recently Jason gave out our third ‘Screenshot of the Month Award’ for Fallout: New Vegas. This month, Associate Producer Will Noble came away with the latest crazy trophy concoction — featuring a cop pointing a gun.

Yes, we know there’s no actual screenshots in this post, but we should have more New Vegas goodness for you soon!

You know all those cool screenshots you see in game previews? Believe it or not, they’re not as easy to create as you’d think. It’s like trying to get that perfect snapshot at a football game – you want to make sure you get the wide receiver player Super Mutant catching the winning touchdown pass right as he’s attacking the player, while accounting for blur from player movement (no edit necessary) and not having fans get in the way onscreen blood get in the way.

In case you missed our Bethesda Softworks Newsletter last week, we released four screenshots never before seen online for Brink. Check them out in our  newsletter archives (where you can also subscribe) and at Brink’s Official Site.
