The Bethesda Podcast gets runner up recognition, new episodes coming soon

Last week it was a bit of a surprise when we learned the Bethesda Podcast was named CastMedium’s runner-up for Best First-Party Podcast of 2010. Not something we expected, so it’s really humbling and cool to get the recognition.

As we start planning our shows for 2011, we’d like to thank our listeners, guests, and other supporters for helping us get started. And big ups to Nick Breckon. Aside from being a great co-host, he’s puts a ton of work into the production of each show.

We love doing the show, and we’re glad you guys are enjoying it. While you wait for the next podcast, you can catch up on our first six episodes through the following methods:

The Bethesda Podcast Episode 3: Parity Error

It’s all New Vegas, all the time on the third episode of The Bethesda Podcast.

In our first segment we sat down again with Fallout: New Vegas senior producer Jason Bergman for a lightning round of fan questions ahead of the game’s October 19 release — including an update on the PC system requirements from a special guest. Then it’s on to our long talk with Obsidian CEO Feargus Urquhart on all things Fallout.

We kick off this week’s episode with a few stories from PAX and a big bag of reader mail. Then a short tale on the first QuakeCon is told, and Harvey Smith and Raphael Colantonio of Arkane Studios join us to talk about immersive games.

Special thanks: to Brian Hess, Harvey Smith and Raphael Colantonio for their words; to Bethesda audio wizard Mark Lampert and cyberspace pro Henning Seljenes for their help; and to listeners like you.

The Bethesda Podcast: Now Seeking Your Questions

newsletter-banner.jpg

As we began to experiment further with the Bethesda Podcast, we had an epiphany: why ask the hard questions when we can get you guys to do it for us?

Starting with this week’s episode, we’ll be taking your questions directly to the folks that make Bethesda games. What sorts of questions? We’re going to leave that up to you.

Wondering how many factions are in Fallout: New Vegas? We have an answer for that. Not sure how Brink multiplayer is going to work? We can tell you. Ask us about the trials and tribulations of game development, or our favorite mods. Anything goes — though we guarantee that nothing regarding our top secret projects will be answered.

Head to the Bethesda forums to leave your question in our open thread. We’ll pluck a few every week and do our best to get them answered. Thanks in advance!
