For everyone else in North America, the RAGE party gets started in just a few hours. While you wait for midnight, be sure to read EGM Now’s review for the game. Here’s an excerpt from their review, where they scored the game at 9.5/10!

You may not have your hands on RAGE just yet, but your digital avatar can certainly get his hands on some RAGE-related stuffs. Plenty of new RAGE-themed Xbox Live and PlayStation Network content has been released just in time for the game’s launch.
On the Xbox side, a premium theme and several avatar items — including clothing and props — are now available to purchase. On the PSN, RAGE fans can look forward to two brand-new themes tomorrow.

I must be honest. I knew very little about RAGE before I was asked to write the official game guide. Sure, I saw the commercials with Blake Griffin, and I knew it was a shooter. But just knowing it was an id Software title was enough for me to say, “YES!” As a long-time FPS fan, I spent countless hours honing my skills on Wolfenstein 3D, DOOM, and QUAKE. Admittedly, those were hours that I probably should have been doing more “productive” tasks, like homework. In retrospect, I guess those hours spent gibbing opponents were productive.
After playing an early build of RAGE for a couple of weeks, I was invited to id’s office in Dallas to meet with a few members of the team. Only minutes after stepping through the front door, Tim Willits (RAGE’s creative director) had me in his office telling me everything I could ever want to know about the game. Throughout the day Tim scheduled appointments for me, allowing me to talk to a variety of team members. It soon became clear that everyone at id were committed to making the RAGE guide as complete and accurate as possible. By the end of my one-day visit, I had recorded more than seven hours of audio notes, picking up cool hints and tips from everyone I met. Next came the task of getting everything down on paper.
With less than a week until launch, we’ve released the sixth and final RAGE gameplay video! Watch as your character infiltrates the Jackal bandit clan’s camp in order to retrieve a data decrypter that could help the Resistance defeat The Authority.
What do you do at id Software (or more specifically on RAGE) and how long have you worked at the company?
I’ve been a Programmer here for three and a half years. I’m responsible for large sections of our game play code. At times including the player weapons, the mission system, the GUI’s, and I’ve dipped my toe into most of the systems we have.
One of the best things about working at id is the creative freedom and responsibility all the developers have. I have also been allowed significant input into the design of our mission system and other areas of our game.
When did you decide you wanted to get into game development?
I’ve always been completely fascinated with games. I have invented my own table top games and played with designs since I was old enough to read. I have been fortunate. I figured out that I have the mindset and a talent for programming, which became my ticket into the video game industry. I’m lucky I get paid to do what I love.
