Updated: Congrats to Arkane and BGS for winning Best Action/Adventure Game and Best DLC, respectively, tonight at the VGAs!

Starting… right now, the 10th Annual VGA Awards are live on SPIKE – with both Dishonored and Dawnguard up for nominations. Best of luck to the developers at Arkane and Bethesda Game Studios.

Elsewhere, voting and nominee announcements for other year-end awards are beginning to surface on numerous gaming sites. They include:

G4TV – The end of year Videogame Deathmatch continues with Dishonored matched up against Guild Wars 2 in the semi-finals. Vote for your favorite.
Game Informer – Readers’ Choice Voting includes the option to vote for Dishonored
Gamespot – Vote for Dishonored for this year’s People’s Choice Award
IGN – Dishonored is nominated for multiple awards, including Game of the Year and Xbox 360 Game of the Year. Elsewhere on the site, Dishonored is named as one of the the best new game properties.

Skyrim takes top honors at the VGAs!

What a night! At last night’s Spike VGA Awards, The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim was honored with Game of the Year and RPG of the Year. Additionally, Bethesda Game Studios was named Studio of the Year.

Congrats to to the BGS team and everyone else involved with the project. And a big thanks to all our fans for your continued support!

VGA nominations announced

The full list of nominees for the 2011 VGAs have been announced and we’ve been honored with eight nominations in the following categories

Best Studio — Bethesda Game Studios
Game of the Year — Skyrim
Best RPG — Skyrim
Best Shooter — RAGE
Best Graphics — RAGE
Trailer of the Year — Skyrim & Prey 2
Best DLC — Fallout: New Vegas’ Old World Blues

Congrats to all the nominees! Winners will be announced on 12.10.11 — live in SPIKE.

VGA Nominees: Skyrim up for GOTY!

While the review embargo for Skyrim is still in effect, those on the VGA voting council have played enough to nominate it as one the five finalists for Game of the Year! Skyrim joins Portal 2, Batman: Arkham City, Uncharted 3, and The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword.

New Vegas picks up three VGA nominations

This morning nominees for the Video Game Awards 2010 (better known as the VGAs) were announced. We’re excited to announce that Fallout: New Vegas received nominations in three categories: Best PC Game, Best RPG, and Best Performance by a Human Female (Felicia Day as Veronica).

Nominees were voted on by an advisory council comprised of 25 leading publications including Entertainment Weekly, USA Today, Wired, Game Informer, Kotaku, IGN, GameSpot, and Joystiq. Winners will also be determined by the council.

Like the big sticker says above, you can watch the 2010 VGAs on Saturday, December 11th at 8PM EST — live on Spike.

VGAs voting ends tomorrow!

Just a reminder that the Video Games Awards 2009 air on Spike TV this Saturday at 8 PM EST, and your chance to vote for the nominees ends tomorrow. The nominees include Point Lookout and Broken Steel in the Best DLC Category, while Eliza Dushku’s performance as Rubi Malone is up for Best Performance by a Human Female.

Fallout 3 DLC, WET nominated at the VGAs

Today Spike TV announced the nominees for the Video Game Awards 2009 (better known as the VGAs). Among this year’s nominees, Fallout 3 received two nominations in the Best DLC category — for both Point Lookout and Broken Steel. Additionally, Eliza Dushku was nominated in the Best Performance by a Female Lead category for her role as Rubi Malone in WET.
