Regular hosts Cam and Seb, along with special guest companion Dovahbear, kept the crowd entertained with a predictably madcap mix of cheese-based Dragon Shouts and giant, exploding chickens, but mostly it was a great chance for members of the community to meet up, enjoy the game and quiz the hosts on how the show is made.
TGIF! With the weekend here, it’s a great opportunity to turn down the lights and stay up late to play part 1 of Juli Kidman’s two-part adventure — The Assignment — available through Steam, Xbox Live, and PSN.
Focusing heavily on stealth tactics, the DLC is already receiving praise from reviewers. Scoring it an 8.5/10, IGN had the following to say:
“I spent a lot of the time running blindly with my heart thumping, hoping a distracted enemy wasn’t now in pursuit, or yelling in triumph after locking one in a room. Without a weapon, the tension builds quickly.”
You can get more from IGN in a their review commentary video feature (note: there are spoilers). For more opinions, we’ll be adding reviews as they come in below.
Videogamer.com (8/10) — “…The Assignment is a reasonably-sized add-on which fleshes out The Evil Within’s story while building on what made it so enjoyable in the first place.”
We Got This Covered (4/5) – “… it was an intense burst of fear that retroactively makes The Evil Within a more complete experience while also standing on its own as an exciting step in a different direction for the series.”
Crave Online — (8/10) — “For fans of The Evil Within, The Assignment stands out as a key component to understanding its complex story. For everyone, it offers an entirely new way to enjoy the universe.”
Bloody Disgusting (8.5/10) – “The Assignment takes the best aspects of The Evil Within — namely the stealth, unsettling enemies and the strategy that’s required in combat — and successfully builds a bite-sized adventure around it that never outstays its welcome.”
Digital Chumps (8.8/10) – “I loved the strategy and intensity of playing purely stealth more than I did the combat in the original game.”

Wolfenstein: The Old Blood releases digitally on Tuesday, May 5th on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC. For more content updates — including the debut of new concept art for weapons be sure to check out the game’s Facebook and Twitter pages.
