As mentioned earlier this week, attendees of The Evil Within Experience at PAX Prime will have a chance to win a limited and customized Xbox One console. If you’re not able to make the event — heck, if you’re not even in Seattle — you still have a chance to win this custom Xbox.
Good news! Beginning today, you can pre-order The Evil Within on Steam. With your pre-order, you’ll gain access to “The Fighting Chance Pack” featuring helpful items that keep you on Detective Sebastian Castellanos’ good list.
Pre-order here on Steam. Stay tuned for updates on pre-loading and the game’s recommended system requirements.
As you can see above, using the app can transform even the world’s most beautiful faces into your worst nightmare. It’s the perfect way to set up your social media profile pics with an image ready for Halloween.
The prize winner will get a smaller scale version of our The Evil Within brain (replica Shinji not included)
And that’s not all! Through all versions of the app and thanks to our partners at GamesRadar, valid participants will have an opportunity to score a one-of-a-kind memento for The Evil Within — a replica brain based upon key art for the game. For your chance to win (contest rules here), be sure to submit your photo to the contest between today and 11:59.59 pm edt on Tuesday, September 3rd.
Time to give your Xbox or PlayStation dashboard a taste of the terror that awaits this October.
On both Xbox 360 and Xbox One, your avatar can get in the spirit of Halloween and dress up as one of the The Evil Within’s iconic characters — options include “The Keeper” (complete with his terrifying hammer), main protagonist Sebastian Castellanos, Ruvik, or the Beacon Hill nurse, Tatiana.
In addition to characters there’s an array of weapons, traps, and shirts you can purchase on the Avatar Store. Show off your excitement for The Evil Within and to get into the Halloween spirit! Note: If you’re on Xbox One, you can still update your avatar if you purchase avatar content through Xbox.com.
When playing through The Evil Within’s campaign — especially if you’re playing by yourself — every now and then it will be comforting to hear the voice of someone you recognize.
In a press release today, we can reveal that the game’s main protagonist, Sebastian Castellanos, is voiced by Anson Mount, known for his popular role as Cullen Bohannon’s on AMC’s Hell on Wheels. Also on your side will be the voice of Jennifer Carpenter (Officer Morgan from the TV hit Dexter) — playing the role of Sebastian’s partner, Detective Juli Kidman. For the game’s most sinister role, Academy Award nominee Jackie Earle Haley has been cast in the role of the game’s top villain, Ruvik.
Finally, the anime crowd will be familiar with the voicework for Jospeh Oda. Playing his role is Yuri Lowenthal — otherwise known as Ben in Ben 10 and also the voice of Sasuke in Naruto.
To learn more about the amazing work contributed by these actors, watch the video embed above and read the official press release after the break…
In recent years, one of our favorite PAX traditions has been putting together off-site community events themed after an upcoming release (see: Dishonored, The Elder Scrolls Online, and Wolfenstein: The New Order). For this year’s event, we’ve once again joined forces with iam8bit with the goal of terrifying you with The Evil Within Experience!
Being held at “The White Room” in the historical Seattle Underground — a less than 20 minute walk from the PAX Exhibit Hall – the place will be prepped for madness as Saturday at PAX Prime winds down. From 8pm – midnight, you’ll be able to play The Evil Within! Enjoy food & drink, and soak up the blood-stained atmosphere of our event.
In addition to being able to play the game, our first 700 attendees will receive a PAX-exclusive t-shirt commemorating The Evil Within.
And as teased earlier today, courtesy of our friends at Xbox, three lucky winners will win a custom-designed Xbox One console using our designs from our reverse packaging contest.
We hope to see you Saturday night for an unforgettable and terrifying time!
Note: All attendees must be 18 years of age or older, and admission is not guaranteed. Attendees will be welcomed on a first come, first served basis. And next to the event, those over the age of 21 will be able to join us for an adult beverage at Doc’s — just few steps away from the event location.
Chance of winning an Xbox One console depends on the number of participants that attend the event.

It’s a real treat.
All players that check out ESO will come away with something special, too — a download code for a limited edition Bristlegut Pig pet to accompany you in your Tamriel travels.
Meanwhile for BATTLECRY, we’ll be showcasing 8v8 matches in an all-new game mode, Land Grab, with plenty of loot for players to grab. All participants will score a BATTLECRY pin for playing. But winning teams will have an opportunity for even more prizes, including…
