ESO ‘Ask us Anything’ – Variety Pack 8

The newest ‘Ask Us Anything‘ for The Elder Scrolls Online is now online. Visit the official site to get answers about weapons, inventory items, PvP, and more.

Here’s a sampling…

Will there be items or spells players can obtain that will cast an appearance illusion over them, making, say, a Breton look like an Argonian or a frost troll for a limited amount of time?

Yes. We have a disguise mechanic in the game, which allows you to equip an item that changes your appearance. This can be used for costuming purposes or, for instance, to infiltrate the camp of an enemy. There are also spells that change your appearance for a limited amount of time—these can change your appearance in more drastic ways than disguises can.

Worth Reading: VG247’s Wolfenstein Preview & Interview

Wolfenstein fans will want to check out today’s preview + interview from VG247’s Deputy Editor, Dave Cook. After playing the game for about an hour at Gamescom, Cook covers how the game takes inspiration from the original game and expands upon it with new story-driven cutscenes and choices. Here’s an excerpt:

“It doesn’t take long for Wolfenstein: The New Order to pull the rug out from beneath the player and smack them across the face with a brutal moral choice. In front of handcuffed hero BJ Blazkowicz, fellow brothers in arms Wyatt and Fergus lie partially stripped and bound. Towering above them, the maniacal Nazi surgeon Deathshead cackles and forces the player to choose which of the two should walk free, and which should be condemned to his sadistic medical research. “I like this one’s eyes”, he sneers as he strokes Wyatt’s face with grave menace.”

In addition to the articles first-hand impressions, Cook catches up with Machinegames creative director, Jens Matthies, to learn more about how the project started — including inspirational meetings the development team had with id Software during pre-production.

Give it a read and in case you missed it, watch their Gamescom 2013 video feature.

Wolfenstein: The New Order doesn’t release until next year, but we’ll share updates on the game as we get them!
