Emil’s Diary on the Brotherhood of Steel

So to kick off the new year Emil took some time to dive into the question of what, exactly, are the Brotherhood of Steel doing in DC, and what are they up to? Well head over to the Vault on the official site to read his recap of what the Brotherhood of Steel are about, and the answer those questions, or at least as much of an answer as he’s willing to divulge at this time. Here’s an excerpt:

In Fallout 3, the Brotherhood of Steel is one of the most important and influential factions you’ll encounter. And while it’s true they are a military organization, the Brotherhood’s values and command structure are actually more representative of a medieval knightly order. Like the Templars of old, in their own eyes, the members of the Brotherhood of Steel are pure, they are just – they are truly human in a world filled with both physical and moral corruption.

The diary also includes a number of new concept art pieces, including the one pictured above.

  1. Very cool, but if it will be look more classic, brighter and humoristic, then it will be fantastic!!! Fallout is not Morrowind. Maybe you need a some Ganja or Vodka!

  2. Could you please make a wallpaper out of that concept art? I have it on my desktop regardless, but a better version would be cool 🙂

  3. Jetmao fall out is the best thing to ever happen to a computer sense bill gats don’t you dare buy any other game until you buy one of the fallout games fallout2 is a good one or you can buy fallout1 and fallout2 to start than brother of steel by the time you play thru these games fallout3 will be out and than if fallout3 is int crape you buy that one. And you play that game like you’ve never played a game and you play it good.

  4. I read the linked dairy and checked out the art. Tastey. I am looking forward to F3. Yeah, maybe it is going to have a rather gritty and harsh look as well as splatter factor. But I love the setup and would go with the Oucasts after some awesome weapons but then that Lyons Chick so damned hot… I could just not assasinate her.

  5. first off, im really looking forward to fallout 3 but i always have this one BIG QUESTION that no one can answer…..i understand that there will not be any vehicles in the game but you cant tell me that the Brotherhood of Steel walked all the way from California to Washington D.C, so you would have to include a mode of transportation other than walking strictly for the Brotherhood wouldn’t you? i mean like such things as
Advanced Helicopters or those VTOLs the Enclave used in fallout 2…. i think it would be cool to include these vehicles in the game but not be accessible to the player…FOR EXAMPLE:you choose to do some sort of reconaissance mission/quest with the BoS and you, along with the squad, climb aboard a VTOL or helicopter and are flown and then dropped off at your destination(somewhat similiar to the Gears of War used helicopters to fly there soldiers everywhere)…. to me that would make alot more sense than just walking everywhere when you are involved with the B.o.S………

  6. So the brotherhood are the Good Paladins who just want to protect the people and figth the evil, because their darker corrupt side has been outsourced to the Outcasts.
Have the Outcasts rejoined the californian Brotherhood ?
If yes, why are they outcasts ?
    If no, why not ?

  7. I’m sorry, but BoS aren’t good guys, nor are they Marines either. Brotherhood of Steel are not morally competent either. Come on! They allow a guy to go to a highly radiated hole for a holodisk. How is that showing morality?
