What we’re playing: Getting ready to Brawl!

For those Wii owners out there, you’re probably well aware that on Saturday night at midnight, the much anticipated Super Smash Bros. Brawl goes on sale at thousands of stores across the country. Like others at the office (I’m looking at you, Mike Dulany), I’m definitely looking for forward to picking it up as soon as possible. Not sure that I’ll brave the midnight crowds though, especially since I’m already going to lose an hour of sleep because of daylight savings.

Whether you’re playing Brawl or something else, feel free to share what you’re playing this weekend as well.

Mike Lattanzia, QA: Hellgate: London (always!), Patapon, Rock Band (spending way too much money on DLC), and Super Smash Brothers Brawl finally!

Mike Dulany, Programmer: Smash Brothers Brawl

Jabarie “Pokemon Trainer” Brown, Quality Assurance: Rock Band (I challenge you to a rock off!), World of Warcraft (I wish I could quite you…no, seriously I do.), Halo 3, and SUPER SMASH BROS. BRAWL (this is going to be amazing)!!!!!!

Ryan Sears, World Artist: Culdcept Saga, N+, skate.

Mike McGinn, QA: Suffering many hilarious deaths in Shiren the Wanderer, which I still can barely believe got localized. Continuing on through Wizardry: Tale of the Forsaken Land, which is still the best dungeon crawler I’ve played yet. More attempts at a 1CC in ESPGaluda, to balance out all the RPG.

Jay Woodward, AI Programmer: S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chernobyl, Mass Effect, Race for the Galaxy

Pete Hines: Lots of traveling, so still pretty much all handheld stuff: God of War: Chains of Olympus, Picross, Brain Age, ProEvo DS, and Disgaea if I can ever get around to picking it up.

Ryan Salvatore, World Art Intern: Maybe some TF2 to help me forget about my expired 7 day trial on LOTRO.

Sam Bernstein, QA Tester: Carcassonne, Catan, Eternal Sonata, Fallout 2, and Fallout 3

Nate Purkeypile, Glow Fill Rights Activist: TF2 (so close to getting a high score of at least 20 with each class) and No More Heroes.

Daryl Brigner, Level Designer: Stalker, Mount & Blade, Bully, and Army of Two.

Jeff Browne, Level Designer: ICO, Shadow of the Colossus, Stalker.

Ashley Cheng, Producer: Lost Odyssey, Sins of a Solar Empire, Restaurant Empire

Fred Zeleny, Designer: Getting my art appreciation on with the melancholy Gravitation, and then cheering myself up by mowing down enemies in their countless thousands in Dynasty Warriors 6 and Sins of a Solar Empire.

Ricardo Gonzalez, Code Enthusiast: Peeked my head up out of my WoW / Rock Band rut to play some Rez HD, only to get sucked back into the void. Pray for Mojo…

Aaron Mitschelen, QA: LotRO, Lost Odyssey, Dynasty Warriors 6 (the new Sun Shang Xiang makes me sad…). Maaaaaaaybe Devil May Cry 4. Maybe. Or not.

Dan Ross, QA: Dawn of War: Soulstorm, Hellgate: London, Company of Heroes

Justin McSweeney, Quality Assurance: Bully 360 if it arrives in the mail, God of War: Chains of Olympus, Wasteland.

Orin Tresnjak, Graphics Programmer: Trying to tear myself away from Burnout Paradise long enough to spend some more time with Patapon and Sins of a Solar Empire.

Gary Noonan, Character Artist: Been getting in touch with my inner, most ultimate, feminine child with Final Fantasy X-2. There isn’t enough manly man stuff in the world that can save me now….

Alan Nanes, Designer: S.T.A.L.K.E.R. (PC), Lord of the Rings Online (PC), Rock Band (Xbox360), Devil May Cry 4 (Xbox360), Burnout Paradise (Xbox360)

Shannon Bailey, Programmer: Digital Devil Saga 2, Xenosaga Episode III, Revenant Wings

Joel Burgess, level 18 Necromancer: Diablo II, whenever the opportunity presents itself.

Matt Grandstaff, Community Manager: God of War: Chains of Olympus, N+, Oblivion, Super Smash Bros. Brawl

  1. As I quite WoW recently, I’m playing, what I should have played earlier: Bioshock (PC) and Gears of War (Xbox360), plus Oblivion (PC) of course.

  2. Hey, Aaron, I know exactly what you mean with the new Sun Shang Xiang. I miss her silly chakram weapons, but most of all, I miss her having a voice that didn’t constantly make me want to punch her in the face.

  3. Had Super Smash Brothers for Wii for a few weeks now and I can tell you that if you really liked the previous one then this one will not disappoint. It’s way more fun to play with others than by yourself, I feel. I am sure Steve Meister will disagree with me on this, however.

Otherwise it has been some Rock Band (drums), DMC4, PixelJunk Monsters (only 3 rainbows left!), Ao2, Wii Fit, God of War: Chains of Olympus and the demo for Mugen Kairou (Echochrome).
