What we’re playing: Plenty of Fallout 3

As you now know, we’re planning the release of Fallout 3 for the end of October (the 28th in North America, 31st in Europe), so our guys (and gals) are spending plenty of their time playing the game and getting it ready to ship. Of course that doesn’t mean we don’t make time for playing other games (like Purkey was ever going to stop playing TF 2). 🙂

Here’s a rundown of what members on the team are playing:

Ashley Cheng, Production Director: Fallout 3.

Sam Bernstein, Speed Runner Extraordinaire: Hopefully trying out the new TF2 update, fending off my Fallout 3 Speedrun time from Brownie, and trying to keep my Pacifism score in Geometry Wars 2 before Gstaff utterly destroys it.  It’s a defensive week.

Larry Waldman, QA: Fallout 3, Seeing myself get beat up many times in Super Tromette Action Movie Go!

Ryan Salvatore, QA: Fallout 3, more Fallout 3, TF2, WoW.

Pete Hines: Fallout 3, Disgaea.

Fred Zeleny, the Man Without Internet: Fallout 3, FF Tactics A2, and wishing I had internet at the new place.

Gary Noonan, Mover and Shaker of Creatures and Weapons: Fallout 3.

Dan Ross, QA: Fallout 3, Company of Heroes, Neverwinter Nights 2: Mask of the Betrayer.

Guy Carver: Fallout 3 and loving every minute of it.

Craig Lafferty, Producer: Fallout 3, some Fallout 3, and then maybe more Fallout 3.

Nate Purkeypile, Bear Punching Extraordinaire: Some TF2, then I’m going to wander off into the desert for a week.

Ryan Ashford, QA Engineer: Team Fortress 2, Okami, Assassin’s Creed.

Ryan Lea: Braid, Too Human, and Diablo 2.

Matt Grandstaff, Community Manager: Tiger Woods 2009, GTA IV, Galaga Legions, wishing I could play more Rock Band 2.

Nate McDyer, Associate Producer: Braid, Bionic Commando, TF2, Bully, Sins of a Solar Empire.

Michael Lattanzia, QA: Fable 2 Pub Games, Spore Creature Creator, Company of Heroes, maybe some Diablo 2, and some more work in XNA.

Michael Wagner, Marketing: Late hours playing World of PhotoShop and Age of InDesign.

Dane Olds, Artist: Bionic Commando Rearmed, Geometry Wars 2, and STALKER (looking forward to Clear Sky).

Dan Lee, Environment Artist: Soul Calibur IV (360), The World Ends with You (DS).

Phil Glaser, QA: Star Wars Force Unleashed Demo, Pixel Junk Monsters, SKATE.

Louis Riley, Senior QA Tester: FFT A2, The Force Unleashed Demo, TF2: A Heavy Update, Too Human.

Liz Beetem, Grunt Artist: I seem to be addicted to pretty barbie dress-up aka Soul Calibur 4. The random character generator in versus mode shatters gender preconceptions in a very special way.

Brent Krische, QA Tester: Team Fortress 2 (I vant sandvich!), Facebreaker demo, Star Wars: Force Unleashed, The Last Guy demo, and Bionic Commando: Rearmed Trial.

Chris Esko, Systems Programmer: The Force Unleashed demo, Soul Calibur IV, Bionic Commando: Rearmed.

Tihana Tresnjak-Smith, QA: Soul Calibur IV, Heroes of Might and Magic IV, Rock Band.

Adam Adamowicz: Super Bad Ass Grenade Heads vs. The Messed Up Afro Cheerleader Cannibals From Nowhere. Oh, hang on. Hasn’t been made yet.

Dan Albers, QA: Soul Calibur IV, Final Fantasy Tactics (PSP), Professor Layton and the Curious Village (DS).

  1. @ Sam Bernstein, trying to beat gstaff in Geometry Wars is a lost cause. I’d give up if I were you. 😀

I’m supposed to be modding Morrowind and Oblivion, and squeezing in a little Half-Life 2 over the long weekend. However, I’ve spent so long playing Diamond Twister on my mobile phone that every time I close my eyes I see those little Bejewelled-style gems swapping into their rows of three. And I totally need to stop checking that new D&D app on Facebook – even if I pointedly did NOT pick Dwarven Warlord.

  2. Beating Gstaff in Geo Wars is like beating…okay i can’t think of anything as difficult as beating Gstaff in Geo wars.

  3. Will FALLOUT 3 have dynamic shadows? Looks very flat without them. I don’t play games really, but i had amazing time wilt FALLOUT 2 and would give this a try. I hope the graphics will be improved and something as basic as shadows will be added for todays standards.

  4. Umm… I guess Oblivion, The sims 2 series, and waiting about 2 months for my CS:S to get done downloading…
