What we’re playing

There’s a lot of common ground this weekend on what the devs are playing. Mostly notably, several folks (Joel, Jeff, Phil, Daryl, and Jonah) are returning to PlanetSide. For those that missed it, it’s a classic Massively Multiplayer First-Person game that was originally released back in 2003. Outside of that, folks are playing Wii Sports Resort, Worms 2: Armageddon, Marvel vs. Capcom 2, (re-released on Xbox LIVE arcade this week), Gears of War 2 (with new DLC  out), Secret of Monkey Island (whether it’s on iPhone, Steam or 360), and much more.

Let us know what you’re playing.

Nathan McDyer: DoWII, Monkey Island SE, Marvel Vs Capcom 2, Killzone 2, Team Fortress 2.

Ashley Cheng: Monkey Island iPhone, GTA4, Battlefield 1943, and Baseball Superstars 2009 (iPhone).

Ryan Lea, Programmer: Mario Kart Double Dash for a 150cc All Cup battle royale vs. Samuel Bernstein. Challenge accepted. Inspirational Words – “Here he comes here comes Speed Racer. He’s a demon on wheels.”

Sam Bernstein: Rocky montage-ing Mario Kart Double Dash for a 150cc All Cup battle royale vs. Ryan Lea. The gauntlet has been thrown.

Mike Christensen: Pokemon Pinball (GBC), Psychonauts, and The Secret of Monkey Island.

Sean Palomino: Grand Theft Auto IV, Marvel vs. Capcom 2, and Worms 2: Armageddon.

Jay Woodward, AI Programmer: Prototype, Duels of the Planeswalkers, and tabletop D&D 4e.

Phil “Loves Puppies” Nelson: PlanetSide, TF2, and King’s Bounty.

Evan Miller: Oh NO! Somebody robbed my apartment and stole my PS3 and Wii. So this week we finished Gears of War 2 and are now playing The Darkness on 360.

Louis Riley: Worms 2: Armageddon, Secret of Monkey Island SE, Battlefield: 1943, Prototype, and Fight Night Round 4.

Jeff Browne, Level Designer: PlanetSide.

Reader Comments

  1. I spent all day playing or setting up mods for Morrowind. I had been paying without ,mods for awhile, but just couldn’t stay away. Currently doing Qarl’s Legendary mod “The Underground 2”.

I may bang my head on some Street Fight IV. That game’s player v.s. cpu is ridiculous at times, though.

  2. I check this site one or two times a day for Fallout updates and the oh-so-tantalising announcement of TES:V, anyway every time I visit I have to confirm my date of birth, and it’s getting quite annoying. Could you fix it? Thanks.
p.s I cannot wait for Mothership Zeta!

  3. I’m playing The Elder Scrolls IV: Shivering Isles. Never played it before, and I must admit that this expansion for Oblivion is simply AWESOME!!! Much better than DLCs for Fallout 3, though I like them too. Oh, I’m also playing Battlefield 1943, Gears of War 2 and Fallout 3.

  4. Playing FALLOUT 3 modded this time around while watching some old Paul Naschy vampire and zombie flicks here and there.

Also enjoyed the game of..LIFE where in this episode i was taking a comfortable walk in the light drizzling summer rain which suddenly transformed into a nightmarish torrential downpour of buckets of rain. Well maybe not nightmarish. It was actually kind of like a peaceful meditation and seeing rain drenched babes was quite relaxing to the mind 😀

Will probably squeeze in some DAWN OF WAR II and LEFT4DEAD to check out the latest and pretty big updates. Oh and i still have to check out the FALLOUT 3 1.7 patch. Ye gads so much joy surrounds me! 😀

  5. I will be fighting off Aliens for the next week… Then continuing on with my evil character.

    Tomorrow will be GLORIOUS!

  6. OH CRAP !!!! :O I accindently downloaded the french version of Mothership Zeta, Is there anyway I can donwoad the enlgish version instead seeing as how there the same thing but different language?

    GGGRRR!!!! 🙁

  7. The language of Fallout 3 DLC is tied to the region associated with your gamertag and not by any other criteria (such as the location you are downloading from or the version of your game). We are not going to make languages available that we did not ship to that country.

  8. Well being in Canada I know for a fact that there is both French and English, I accidently piccked the French by accident so I’m wondering i f I could swap em.

  9. I have been thru MZ now and it is alot of fun! The new art is simply eye-popping.

I know I prob. won’t get an answer, but has anyone on the F3/TES teams played Demon’s Souls for PS3? It is EASILY the best PS3 exculsive right now, and yes, I’ve beaten MSG4. The combat system however, is so good that it should really be the basis for the new TES game, if that is any way still a possiblity.

ANyways, that is what I’ve been playing, F3:MZ and Demon’s Souls.
