What we’re playing

Earlier this week we checked out the first chapter of Uncharted 2: Among Thieves in our theater. The game dropped jaws and now a number of devs are busy playing through the full game. Uncharted 2 isn’t the only game getting lots of buzz — new releases Brütal Legend and Demon’s Souls having quickly become office favorites, too.

Now back to playing Uncharted…enjoy the rest of your weekend.

Jon DeVriendt: Uncharted 2, League of Legends, and Demon’s Souls.

Orin Tresnjak: Demon’s Souls.

Pete Hines: Uncharted Drake’s Fortune, Madden, NCAA, and Halo 3: ODST.

Brett Douville, Eater of Metal Cookies: Brütal Legend, Brütal Legend, and Brütal Legend.

Craig Lafferty: Uncharted 2 — the best Indiana Jones movie that was never made.

Jen Tonon (QA): Aion, Oblivion, WoW, Plants vs Zombies, Bejeweled BlitzMike Dulany: Brütal Legend, and Uncharted 2.

Sean Palomino: Brütal Legend (Decapitatiooooon!), Halo 3: ODST, and Mafia Wars (I’m addicted).

Gary Noonan: Marvel: Ultimate Alliance 2.

Brent Krische: Trying to remain “pure” in Flower, dancing with elephant men in .detuned, and fixing the kinks in Mario & Luigi: Bowser’s Inside Story.

Jon Paul Duvall: Medieval Total War 2, Uncharted 2, and the BsG boardgame with Pegasus expansion.

Matt Ponton: Fallout 3 GOTY, Blazblue, and either Rock Band 2 or Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2. Maybe some Street Fighter IV — I finished making my arcade stick.

Ashley Cheng: Uncharted 2.

Adam Adamowicz: How To Make A Monster — Photoshop CS4 Style.

Dane Olds, Artist: Demon’s Souls (just jumped back in with the North American version), Canabalt and Civ Rev for the iPhone.

Michael Lattanzia, QA: Champions Online, Monster Hunter Freedom Unite, Gears of War (decided to go back and beat the original with my girlfriend after we finished Gears 2), and contemplating picking up Brütal Legend… Oh, and playing reverse Tetris trying to figure out where to put things as we unbox stuff in our new apartment.

Daryl Brigner: Uncharted 2 (AMAZING!), Demon’s Souls, and Brütal Legend.

Cory Dornbusch, QA tester: Brütal Legend, TF2, L4D, and Dawn of War 2.

Mark Lampert: Still playing away on Grand Theft Auto IV and waiting for that next expansion.

Nate Purkeypile: Uncharted 2, Dead Space Extraction, Heavenly Sword and I would be playing Brütal Legend on the 360, but I just had my third red ring.

Emil Pagliarulo: Brütal Legend, Gothic 3, Uncharted 2, and Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising.

William Killeen: Uncharted 2 and Brütal Legend.

  1. I randomly spent the past few days playing and modding Oblivion. The game actually plays much better (for me, anyway) if you start with Knights of the Nine. It ties the player into the world, creates connections with NPCs and gives you a nice home to live in.

  2. Uncharted 2!!!!!!! First game was amazing, can’t wait to get the second. Best animation quality I’ve ever seen in a game!
    Also Plants vs Zombies!

  3. Playing RISEN and loving the indepth npc interaction with getting to know them. Combat though can be a bit clunky at times though its better then previous GOTHIC rpgs.

After getting so turned on by RISEN i dug up my old 2006 copy of GOTHIC 3 when hearing about the Community Patch 1.7. To my wonderful shock the patch made GOTHIC 3 everything it could be and then some. Even the combat is a real joy feeling very intuitive so if i feel i can hit most of the time i do compared to the guessing game of the original combat system. Its an immense rpg with incredible variety on every level. Really loving it.

Also playing a modded up game of OBLIVION trying to go with that Halloween spirit using WillieSea’s HAUNTED HOUSE Mod and Pepsi’s HELLISH ARMORY aswell as Deathless Aphrodite’s DAGGERFALL MEMORIE’S THE LIBERATION OF CYBIADES. Oh and using an old version of MARTIGEN’S MONSTER MOD since i have yet to get the latest BSA based version working properly. In time though in time..

    Other games am playing are:

  4. Piece of advice for you while playing Uncharted 2 Bethesda, use your first 10k to purchase the “Mastering the Cell” video in the bonus video section. You might learn something about PS3 coding, while the game itself will show what a finished game should be like rather than the beta level release you offered us last year.

  5. Martyr, chill out. Don’t use a blog entry to bash the developers by shoehorning it onto praise of another game. That’s just poor form sir.
