Fallout: New Vegas Digital Pre-sell Packs Now Available!

We’re pleased to announce Fallout: New Vegas digital pre-order packs are now available in North America through participating retailers and will be available worldwide soon. The Classic, Tribal, Caravan, and Mercenary packs each contain in-game items offered exclusively through Direct2Drive, GameStop, Amazon, Steam, Walmart and Best Buy.

More details after the break…

The Classic Pack (pictured above), available when you pre-order through GameStop, contains:

  • Armored Vault 13 Suit – Extensively patched up and dotted with piecemeal armor, this outfit is an homage to the classic ending of the original Fallout.
  • Vault 13 Canteen – This handy device is useful for staving off dehydration and providing a small amount of healing in the Mojave Wasteland.
  • Weathered 10mm Pistol – A well-worn 10mm pistol that packs an extra punch despite its modest size.
  • 5 Stimpaks – Food and water are good for long-term healing, but when the fighting is fierce, Stimpaks help keep Wastelanders upright.

The Tribal Pack, available when you pre-order through Amazon or Direct2Drive contains:

  • Tribal Raiding Armor – Pieced together from scraps of armor, this outfit provides protection without impacting mobility.
  • Broad Machete – This heavy-bladed melee weapon does high damage against limbs and can quickly deal out a flurry of attacks.
  • 5 Bleak Venom doses – Useful on any Melee Weapon, Bleak Venom makes short of work of most living targets.
  • 10 Throwing Spears – If you would like to silently pin an enemy’s head to a wall, Throwing Spears are the way to do it.

The Caravan Pack, available when you pre-order through Steam and Walmart, contains:

  • Lightweight Leather Armor – This hand-modified suit of leather armor reduces its overall weight without impacting its ability to protect.
  • Sturdy Caravan Shotgun – Despite its rough appearance, this Caravan Shotgun will reliably fire 20 gauge shells until the Brahmin come home.
  • 4 Repair Kits – Useful for repairing any outfit or weapon, Repair Kits are a valuable tool for any caravaner.
  • Binoculars — The Mojave Wasteland is a dangerous place, but with these trusty Binoculars you’ll be able to spot trouble coming.

The Mercenary Pack, available when you pre-order through Best Buy, contains:

  • Lightweight Metal Armor – Modified for long-range travel, this Metal Armor sacrifices some protection for mobility and overall weight.
  • Mercenary’s Grenade Rifle – Though similar to other 40mm Grenade Rifles in the Mojave Wasteland, this model has a faster reload cycle.
  • 3 Super Stimpaks – When you absolutely, positively, need to keep your blood inside your body, Super Stimpaks fix you up in no time.
  • 3 Doctors Bags – Mercenaries and broken limbs go together like Iguana-on-a-Stick and Nuka Cola. Thankfully, these Doctors Bags take a bit of sting out of the inevitable crushed skull.

  1. So whats the deal with the binoculars? in steam it says that all items marked with a * is exclusive pre-order only.
The binoculars are not marked with this symbol? So you can get these in the game too? And about the canteen(13) is it just about the looks and/or a slightly bigger volume?

  2. I am surprised the pre-order outfits are all direct ports of normal Fallout 3 assets (or so near as to make no difference) and not original NV content.

For a pre-order special, they are not all that special.

    Also, GECK.

  3. @Kicsktand27
Actually, yeah. Then we wouldn’t miss out on anything since there would be nothing to miss out on.

Yeah, a poll would be nice.

  4. Would I be correct in assuming that because EB is owned by Gamestop, we’d get the Classic Pack by pre-ordering with them here in Australia?

  5. If you pre-order a Collector’s Edition … you get what’s offered at that store. For instance, people pre-ordering at Gamestop get the Classic Pack.

  6. @gstaff
Will the packs be released as DLC later so people can get them all? Or perhaps include them in the first patch =)

  7. question:do i have to buy the collector’s edition or the standard on amazon to get the tribal pack and how do i access the pack?? This has “game of the year award” all over it

  8. So hey, can anyone please answer this question I have about this?
Ok my question is, that are we only going to be able to get things like the binoculars if we pre-order it? Or can we find binoculars later in the game??

Id really apreteat it if a staff member could answer me, please.

    • @Ryan

If you look at the images showing the different items, you’ll notice only certain images are “pre-order exclusives” — the other items are just added extras.

  9. wait! you can only have one pack if you pre-order the game from gamestop? aww man I wanted them all :[ what a let down, I was all hiped for the game and the pre-order offer. I guess one pack will have to do….

  10. Will the pre-order packs be available on sale as DLC at any point as most ppl here would like to buy one or all of them if they were a $2 or $4 each on Steam or at other retailers, makes more sense tbh to make more money out of the pre-order dlc.

  11. Thanks gstaff, I know I might be going over board with getting the game at each store but I don’t mind putting more money in your pocket’s. I really hope that there is going to be more of these packs as small dlc’s in the future.

  12. @Shadowmancer
More like $2 for a pack with all of them.

    @King of the Waste
Dude, don’t waste your money like that. They will probably be released as DLC later. And if they aren’t there will be mods adding equal or better things to the game.

  13. What I’m seeing is a very mixed audience. But the best idea would be to give you what you pre-ordered, then offer all of these as DLC’s about 2-3 months after release. And work in some sort of choice option after saving (or raiding) that beginning town that was mentioned in OXM. Or have the option to choose yours when you pre-order, or buy any or all of them for $10-$15 when you pick up your copy.

  14. I noticed Gamestop stated you will get the content code on receipt at time of purchase. So there’s not gonna be code cards pre packaged in our games? (Version pre-ordered Xbox 360 CE)

  15. Well the packs dont matter your able to get all of the items in game its just what u’d rather start off with and find other later. i ordered off steam so i got the caravan package so i will just find the grenade laucher and armor later in game

  16. While I think these are very, very cool, I’m curious about a couple of things;

Will the game freak out if given multiple pre-order codes? EG, if I get a code for the classic pack AND the caravan pack, can I put in both codes and have it be all good?

Secondly, will this stuff ever be available for purchase? I could care less about the tribal pack, but I want the classic pack because it’s sweet for nostalgia (though if it had the FO1/2 10mm Pistol it would be *perfect*), and I love the Mercenary and Caravan pack. I’d love to be able to have them all without having to preorder four copies of the same game.

  17. I Definatly agree With Dirk Gently
i like pretty much all of those packs how they have unique weapons i.e spears venom binoculars grenade rifle shot etc. All should be made accessable from day 1 as add-ons for points. maximizes profits as everyone could buy whether collectors or not and if you choose to spend 15-20 bucks on retreiving all of the equipment. so be it. everybody wins!

  18. @ VaultBoy: That would defeat the point of them being preorder bonuses. If they were offered a month later or so, that would probably make the retailers happier.

@DK: I assume that shortly after the game starts, you’ll find a DLC footlocker or something a little while into the game, probably right after the tutorial. EG, if you played Fable II, right after the tutorial finished and you got the basic background and to use to teleporting thing, if you had entered in the limited edition code, there would be a chest right next to it.

  19. The game without DLC (Pre-order exclusives) is basicly just where you wake up talk to Mitchell and he gives you a 9mm and other assorted items. With DLC he gives you the apropriate pack from wich you ordered.

  20. do the outfits look different when warn by a female characters like in fallout 3
and can we see some pics of that please
as their they are only displayed by male characters

  21. ok, i went and did it… FO:NV Collector’s Edition pre-ordered from a local Gamestop – screw delivery, they might have a 12:01 release!

the Merc pack was really tempting because it’s obviously combat- and survival-oriented: good armor, grenade launcher, super stims AND doctor’s bags? the other packs almost look like jokes by comparison.

but, it ultimately came down to nostalgia. this is low-level stuff and i’ll probably play for less than a day before ditching it. and there will probably be other Vault-Tec jumpsuits around, but… Vault 13! and a V13 canteen – that’s actually significantly useful, compared to the water flasks of FO2.

i just gotta put on the suit once, rotate the camera to the back, and start walking down a dusty road…

  22. Pre-order bonus items are a waste of time in a single player game because they get tossed after an hour of game play anyway or clog up inventory for hoarder’s.

In my opinion, a pre-order bonus like hints to unknown and very exotic weapons or clothing items would be better.

  23. Oh one more thing these dlc deals with the classic pack, and caravan pack etc. Are worthless I cant tell you how many times ive pre-ordered from gamestop and every in game add-on that came with a pre-order never works. You have do some sort of in game redemption code.. Lame they never work. Just liek that god of war suit you get with the pre-order.

  24. hey. . I liked the look/details of the caravan pack, and clicked the link for walmart, and their site only mentions the caravan pack for the xbox 360 and the ps3 . . the pc version doesn’t mention it it. . is that their mistake over there, or is the caravan pack only good for the console versions, not the pc?

. . I already pre-ordered the collector’s edition through game stop for my 360, and I wanted to pick up a copy for my pc as well and since I’m not a melee player and amazon’s bonus seems geared that way, I thought I’d check walmart. .

  25. Binoculars are a miscellaneous item in Fallout: New Vegas. They can be obtained through the Caravan Pack pre-order bonus, but are not exclusive. They can also be purchased in Primm.

  26. I saw a good idea in one of these posts that say “why not if you got Collectors Edition you get everything.” Bethesda, you may think that there would be no importance to preordering then, but the chances are that 1. all Collectors Editions are probly sold out (I was the 4,000 person to preorder it!) so for their loyalty they could get all of them and 2. Is just getting a few poker chips and a book that will wind up being free to read the day the game releases really worth $20 bucks? Maybe for me, but not for the other people, most likely. And come on, you give the coolest outfit but worst weapon to Gamestop and vice versa with the other company? Just think about my idea. And if its not a good idea, please explain why not. If you do not explain, I will take it as a “Uh…we dunno.”

  27. Sorry Kyle, those packs are exclusive pre-order items to the retailers listed above.

The Collector’s Edition does have plenty of cool items in it — including a physical copy of the graphic novel, the cards, the chips, as well as the platinum chip. Not to mention the box it comes in is pretty slick.

  29. Ok stop complaining guys. Your preordering the game for the same price you would buy it AFTER it comes out. you get a little extra from ordering it earlier. its not like its an mmo and it hurts your game if you dont get it. woopdy do. I really want to know a couple things though. just to help me decide. canteen. will there be another one in game. binocs. will there be anything like it in game.

  30. pretty cool this is great preordered my copie last week at game stop i like the classics they work better the older the better they last longer and they don’t break easy you would need to drop the pistol then blow it up to damage it
