Introducing The Bethesda Podcast

As we announced in yesterday’s In The ‘Works, the latest project to emerge from the Bethesda Community Labs is now available: download the pilot episode of the Bethesda Podcast today.

With a blend of studio news and casual discussion, the Bethesda Podcast will offer an inside look at a wide range of subjects. Our first episode kicks off with a quick update on Fallout: New Vegas from senior producer Jason Bergman, including a sampling of the game’s unique soundtrack. Then it’s on to a lengthy talk with Bethesda’s Todd Howard and id Software’s Tim Willits on a number of topics, including QuakeCon, post-apocalyptic games, and what the two studios are working on.

Head over to the podcast page to stream or download the ‘cast, and hit the RSS feed to subscribe. You can also subscribe to the podcast on iTunes.

  1. Awesome podcast guys, thanks a lot. This a great addition to the blog and forums.

Also, thanks for questioning Todd about his current game! It shows that you listen to the fans and ask the questions we’re concerned about. You handled it really well. We may get a bit frustrated and impatient every now and again, but it’s just because we really care. We love Bethesda’s games and know how great they always end up being, and as a result we get really invested in future releases. Take as long as you need, the community will always be waiting and fully supportive at heart, even if it doesn’t always come across that way.

Many thanks for the community dedication you continue to show.

  2. Very enjoyable podcast, I’m glad you guys got this going! The other podcasts are “okay”, but to have one dedicated from Bethesda is quite exciting for us PodPeople. ๐Ÿ˜‰ Always enjoy hearing about what’s happening inside the gaming skunkworks, keep em coming!

  3. So as someone who only recently picked up Fallout 3: GOTY on Steam and hasn’t played through it yet, will this podcast be spoiler heavy or should I wait until after I work my way through the game to listen?

  4. Love your new show! Yeah, I was disappointed Doom 4 wasn’t mentioned at this years Quakcon too. I’m glad you mentioned it on your show. I’m now more excited than ever to play it not to mention Rage!

  5. Thanks sooo much for starting this up guys! I’ve been wishing for a Bethesda podcast for a while, so it’s really great to have one to listen to now.

  6. Awesome! it’s good to have a podcast straight from the developers mouth. I’ll wait for the iTunes link to subscribe. I like having all my podcasts in one location

  7. Very nice podcast guys! Funny to hear Grandstaffs voice not like a bot at all ๐Ÿ˜‰ ๐Ÿ˜‰

Nice to hear that Bethesda is indeed cooking ๐Ÿ™‚ Not so nice that you’ve only really been doing so since you ended production of FO 3, but then again you don’t have that much manpower so it was expected. We know you have started and that’s the most important thing.

  8. Wow thanks so much! I love inside looks into studios and I will say Bethesda does a fantastic job interfacing with your fans. Hoping to learn from all these podcasts and get my foot into a door in the gaming industry! Please keep these going.

PS: You guys are awesome at what you do.

  9. It’s awesome to be able to hear authentic conversations between the leaders of my favorite game development company – totally looking forward to the next podcast. ๐Ÿ™‚

  10. I am looking forward to listening to the show! Anything developed by Bethesda is a day one purchase for me. I submitted your RSS to the Zune Marketplace for inclusion there also. I know most people forget about the Zune, so I help when I can!

  11. I think you mean elder scrolls V,
    morrowind is III
    oblivion is IV
and whatever is next is V.

anyways, gotta agree, Zunes are highly
