Around the web: Brink wins Eurogamer Expo Game of Show

Like whack-a-mole, we put up new coverage roundups, and more and more stuff keeps popping up. In addition to our recent updates for RAGE, Brink (parts 1 and 2), New Vegas, and Hunted… we’ve MORE news to share.

Kicking things off, we’re excited to share news that Brink was named the #1 Game of Show at this year’s Eurogamer Expo. You can check out the top ten games here (which includes New Vegas as well). Congrats to the team at Splash Damage for their efforts both on the game and at recent trade show events.

Also ranking the top games from the show was split/screen co-op — who ranked New Vegas, Brink, and Hunted in their top 10. Swap New Vegas out for RAGE, and that pretty much sums up the most recent Eurogamer podcast. Definitely worth listening to, the podcast features RAGE’s Tim Willits, Hunted’s Maxx Kaufman, and Brink’s Ed Stern.

More after the break…

Today at GameTrailers, there’s a new interview with Hunted’s very own Maxx Kaufman. Watch the video below.

Earlier Nick mentioned the ‘Start  a Match‘ feature added to QUAKE LIVE. If you haven’t already played QUAKE LIVE — 1) You Should and 2) It’s Free. But don’t take my word for it — go ahead and read recent reviews for the game at Machinima and PC Gamer. Elsewhere, Mashable includes QL in their list of the 5 Experiences that Redefined Online Gaming in 2010.

In Fallout news, it’s worth noting that PlayStation Plus subscribers in Europe will soon be able to get Fallout 3 DLC for free!! For full details, head here. Meanwhile, PC Players looking to find quality user-created mods should check out this feature from Tom Senior at PC Gamer.

And now the speed round…

  • As they’ve done for PS3 and 360, IGN have a new Top 25 countdown for the top PC Games. Both Oblivion (#11) and Fallout 3 (#10) made the list.
  • Yesterday, we shared details on the Beyond the Brink: 2010 European Parkour Tour videos. Today you can check behind-the-scenes action from their trip to London.
  • In the first of a series of entries at Techland, Bethesda’s Jason Bergman (Senior Producer on Fallout: New Vegas), has an essay on cracking into the game industry.
  • You can file this one under “Fallout in the Real World.” Does anyone else think of this when they read this??
  • Voice actor Wes Johnson (aka Fawkes in Fallout 3) goes Shatner all over the place in this new video at Funny or Die.

That’s all the news for now… now I’m off to find a shirt for the New Vegas launch party!
