Kinect Support Coming to Skyrim

Fully knowing that you can’t get enough of your favorite dragon shouts, we’re pleased to announce that Kinect for Xbox 360  support is coming to The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. Available for free as a title update slated for release this month, Skyrim Kinect for Xbox 360 Support will feature more than 200 Voice Commands… including the game’s dragon shouts.

In addition to Dragon Shouts, the Kinect for Xbox 360 integration offers voice commands throughout the game including Hotkey Equipping, Follower Commands, and all Menus (Items, Magic, Map, Barter, Container, Favorites, and Skills). With Voice Commands, quickly create and load saves during gameplay and access menus and inventories. Skyrim’s Kinect for Xbox 360 Support also adds new functionality including special map functions, additional hotkey options, and the ability to sort inventory items by name, weight, and value.

To get an early look at Kinect for Xbox 360  support, watch the video above featuring programmer Ricardo Gonzalez, who put together the preliminary concept for Kinect for Xbox 360 Support during the Skyrim Game Jam.

A full list of Voice Commands will be revealed in the coming weeks, and we’ve got more Skyrim news coming. Bethesda Game Studios has been hard at work on creating the first set of game add-ons that will be exclusive to the Xbox 360. This additional content will add new quests, locations, features, and much more to the world of Skyrim. Stay tuned for more details.

  1. BOO HOO! I don’t have an Xbox so this doesn’t effect me!! Hahaha suckers! I can’t wait for this!!! My roommate is going to evict me cuz I’m going to be thuuming 24/7!!! And DLC for Xbox only!!! Add a new argument to the Xbox vs play station list! Woooo!

  2. Thank you Bethesda for giving us games that are worlds better than any other video game out there. And for anyone complaining about this, go to hell, it’s free and it’s awesome! And you jerks on the computer, you already have all of the mods you could ever want, give us this. You guys just want everything and can’t stand someone else having anything you can’t, that’s pretty selfish. The kinnect isnt just a mic guys, look it up and actually learn something about it. You can’t use it on a headset mic on your computer just like we can’t use it on an Xbox headset, its not the same thing at all. We love you Bethesda 😉

  3. Has the kinect support patch been released yet cause i had an update but no damn kinect support for my skyrim.

  4. Kinect Support is not DLC it’s a free patch for the 360. I didn’t see anything about DLC mentioned in this blog post.

  5. Everyday I wake up anxious to turn on my Xbox hoping to find the update available, but I just find myself being disappointed. Come on Bethesda, its the last day of the month and still no update. Why tease with news of release before end of month to fail at it? Haven’t you disappointed enough fans already?

  6. Why is it not out now!!! It’s the last day of the month and it’s still not released?!?, so much for this month Bethesda

  7. “The first batch of downloadable content for Skyrim will include an array of weapons and new NPC’s, as well as abilities and quests for the player to embark. Multiple crossbows, spears, and spells. Darker players embracing their inner monster can expect new abilities for vampires and a Lycanthropic perk tree.”

And at the bottom page: “The Snow Prince Resurrected will take Dragonborn to the frozen isle of Solstheim, where he will confront the Prince of the Falmer and unravel the mysteries of the Dwemer.”

    Leaked Information.

    • I agree… when can I start yelling at my tv.. you said it would be released later in april… well its may now and still no kinect support.. wtf

  8. When will the bugs be fixed for the Xbox version? I like the new features and the upcoming DLC but I would rather have the bugs fixed first so the game can be completed 100%.
